Henderson apparently had tight glutes and spent the whole training running laps. although his gait was a bit off he ran well, heard the trainer say he hit 7.5k before he finished up

Taylor sat out of the match Sim. Was standing in one of the pockets chatting to whichever key forward was subbed out at the time. Kind of like having a rotation of people babysitting the work experience kid but good to see all the boys welcoming him. His preferred standing posture is both hands holding the collar of his training top, which he has reverted to anytime he's not been in a drill (not that this matters to anything but I found it amusing). Girls came out and warmed up on one of the rugby pitches but are now doing some soccer game warm-up on the wings while the boys do a few sprints across the square. Good to see both teams make the best out of the sharing the ground situation with no one getting in each other's way

Currently doing a drill where a group on each with try to work it up to a 2 v 1 in the forward 50. One side has mentha and mihocek vs CJ and the other has Campbell, Taylor and a bloke I don't recognise. CJ always defender but the other trio are rotating the defender bib. Taylor getting plenty of leading/positioning instruction from Campbell. Groups are swapping which wing they're on after every play and the forwards/defenders have to sprint back to the goalpost before leading again. Seems like they've traded out endless laps for unnecessary running in their drills as the fitness component

Split into 3 groups rotating through some drills. One is a handball drill with roughly even teams working it from one side of a box to another. One is a 1v1 marking drill. The other is a kicking/handballing working it from one pocket out to coach at halfway. Mix of talls and smalls in each group, no obvious forward/defender split. Taylor sat out the handball drill while talking to a coach observing it, looked like getting some instruction but joined in the marking and kicking one fully

Ball in at the pocket ar one end then working it quickly to a couple key forwards at the other. Attacking team outnumbering defenders roughly 10 to 4. Very quick movement with the next play starting as soon as the deepest forward gets it, plenty of running in this one. The got players resting on the sidelines and swapping in every few plays but the seem absolutely buggered when they come off.

Not sure if it's really a sign of anything but just saw Judd Mcvee at the aflw fees pies game, sporting a deed scarf

Midfield seemed pretty mixed. I think it was A backline vs A forward line at one end and B backline vs B forwards at other end. A end was jvr jeffo and turner lining up against may and tmac. This split would have lever in the b team though so tough to tell.

Jed Adams ignored Lever calling for an easy short kick inside and opted to go the long kick down the line that got intercepted, copped a bit of a spray from lever for it

Full ground match sim I believe 13v13 with one player in a bib playing for the attacking team. JvR looking good as deepest forward playing on McDonald, tmac copped a big knee in the back with JVR taking a mark on him.

Trac, Chandler and sparrow were in the no touch fluro hats earlier but now are doing some kicking work with light pushing in the contest

Now split into two groups on opposite wings working the ball about 30 metres using only handpasses. White shirts vs reds with tackling. Kozzy a tackling beast as expected

I headed in to watch the training this morning and most of the drill descriptions have been covered but here's a couple observations. Maxy and Melksham walking several laps have a chat, stopping occasionally to watch the rest training. LOTS of turnovers in the match sim stuff, they did seem very quick on the adapting from turnovers and either setting up or taking advantage of it though so silver linings. Kozzy looked really good, if there's any sites out there putting odds on for non petracca/Oliver Melbourne bnf winner let me know because he's looking primed for a breakout midfield year. Ended by splitting into defenders doing some drill at the other end while everyone else (including tmac and petty?) were doing goal kicking practice. The defenders group looked quite small as if it wasn't all the defenders so maybe they still want to get a bit of goal kicking practice into potential swing men. Or maybe I'm just reading too much into it. Happy to answer any questions about specific players but these were the main things I noted.

I headed in to Gosch's to check out training this morning and got there about 11 for the second half of training. Heres my observations Were doing some full ground match sim style stuff when I rocked up. Then split into talls and non talls. Talls were doing a contested marking drill in front of me while the shorts/medium sized players were doing some sort of 1 on 1 groundball thing on the other side I couldn't really see. Talls contested marking consisted of 1v1 in a box each running to an opposite corner of the box then coming back together judging a high kick and trying to mark. There were two groups of this going and the one in front of me had Harry Petty, Max Gawn, Jake Melksham, Tom Campbell, Will Verrall and Trac came over about halfway thru for the medium/short drill. After this there was a bit of full ground match sim stuff starting from a ball up on a wing and transitioning forward. Pickett playing in the mid was the biggest standout for me with some great play and a very nice fend off at one point. Other noticeable things were Roo near the pocket I was in getting a bit frustrated they didn't kick it to his side, instead kicking it to the closer pocket to the ball up where jeffo had his mark spoiled a couple times in a row. And Jack Viney ended up on the end of a few shots at goal (two from in front further out and one snap from the pocket) where he kick 1/3 of them including hitting the post from a snap that he probably should be kicking :( Last up was a mids vs forwards goal kicking competition where everyone gets one shot from each angle/type of kick including a couple where they we getting handball receives/groundball gets. Mids seemed to be winning this comp which doesn't seem like a great sign for our forward line but oh well I guess having goal kicking mids doesn't hurt. Usual suspects in most of the line groups, only thing I noticed was both Jake Bowey and Caleb Windsor training with the backs on the other side of the ground. So maybe Bowey not going to the wing this season? Then they changed into runners and did some running conditioning stuff, everyone appeared to be on a slightly different program. Kolt headed back to the rooms while everyone else seemed to do some amount of running/sprints

Choco came over for a chat He seemed very impressed with McAdam, pencil him in for a round 1 (or opening round 🙄) appearance Kosi on a different program because he just got back from SA and they don't want to overdo him. When I asked about TMac training with the backs he suggested I was an opposition scout 😂 and didn't go into any more detail. He confirmed #46 is Noah Yze training with them

Cannot believe I'm saying this but Ben Brown looked really good. Took a strong contested mark and another on a lead

Forwards vs defenders now Defenders start with the ball then work it out to miss who turn over then practice a forward entry Defenders: may, TMAC, Judd, bowey and disco? (I can't tell) Forwards: McAdams, jvr, Laurie, sesten and brown Similar thing happening on the other side of the ground but I'm too far to see any detail

Currently doing ground ball gets or marks with tackling pressure. Notable absences - kosi and Fritta doing some running together. Oliver doing some running. And Gus doing a seperate drill with a trainer in the dreaded fluro cap

Doesn't help when they're swapping shirts to confuse us, pretty sure I saw Viney in #35 just before but who knows

Pretty sure I just saw billings in #33 getting called JB so maybe him and Fullarton have swapped jumpers
