In 2016 Richmond were 1 and 7 after round 8 and ended up with 8 wins for the season. They even lost 4 in a row in 2017, leaving them 4 and 4 after 8 rounds. Question is how do we replicate that.

Tickets are between $11 and $20 for members.

I've just just received an email from the club encouraging people to secure a seat for the ANZAC day eve. Tickets available from Monday morning. This game is the first replacement game for the season, so general admission is free for members, but they say that general admission is dependent on it not being a sell-out. They must be expecting a bumper crowd. I've just checked the Ticketec web site and reserved seats for members are from $11 to $20. Does anyone know which end will be the Dees cheer squad?

He had a joke when interviewed and said he couldn't remember the last few minutes of the 1st game against Geelong this year.

At least parts of it were filmed during the cricket season. Covers on the pitch area can be seen. Marketing is a complex thing. Master Chef may or may not result in memberships or larger viewing audiences. But national exposure and a linking to the "Melbourne" brand can only be a positive. And it only cost a free feed in the off season for the team and a day or 2 of our co-captain's time.

Demons Game Replays - where to see them
Flying Cloud replied to Flying Cloud's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yes, but doesn't Live Pass only show on a laptop or tablet and not on the a TV. I do have Google Chrome, but I understand this doesn't work with Live Pass. -
For the last several years I have been able to watch replays of all matches on the Telstra T-box 24 hours after the game. Telstra have just announced changes to the T-box and it appears the only way to guarantee to see all Demons games this year on a TV is through Foxtel. Have I got this wrong, please someone tell me there are other options rather forking out even more money again.

All Grounds Dimensions - Some surprises
Flying Cloud replied to Its Time for Another's topic in Melbourne Demons
Interesting facts thanks Time. I wondered about the actual area of the grounds, but it can't be accurately calculated as they are all probably ovals rather than true ellipse (a squashed circle). But if we assumed they all were perfect ellipse then the area from biggest to smallest would be (sqm) Cazaly 20,187 Blundstone 18,555 TIO 18,555 MCG 17,719 Manuka 17,664 Aurora 17,495 TIO Trager 17,417 Gabba 16,908 Domain 16,881 Metricon 16,839 SCG 16,610 Spotless 16,423 Etihad 16,135 Eureka 16,135 Adelaide 16,133 Simonds 15,355 Eureka Stadium is the rebuilt stadium in Ballarat that is set to hold its first premiership points game later this year with Bulldogs vs Power. According to Wikipedia it is 159.5 x 128.8. Those are the same as Etihad, which I guess is done to make it suit the Bulldogs. -
When will Melbourne break these embarrassing records?
Flying Cloud replied to praha's topic in Melbourne Demons
Another 10 year record broken Beat Hawthorn - Last win: Round 8, 2006 (11-game losing streak) - Since 1980: 59 games, 14 wins, 45 losses Beat Hawthorn Last win Round 20, 2016 (1 game winning streak) -
Yep, Clearly Clarko was being raped! So all good.

Aggressors should not be allowed to prevail. Nor should those who retaliate. Why is it that Clarkson's reactions should be acceptable? Because he is well known or important? As soon as we give any person the right to "retaliate" as he or she sees fit we give open slather to thugs in the street. This is not a football issue. This is an issue of whether it is OK to hit someone in the street, whatever the provocation. It is never acceptable.
-
My view, and it will be unpopular, but hitting someone is never acceptable. Walk away. Let the law take its course, but I think he should get the same treatment as Jeremy Clarkson. If he is allowed to stay on he gives the next idiot the same excuse. He has brought the game into disrepute. If Port supporters have crossed the line then penalise Adelaide as well. No supporters at home games for the next 3 home games (can see the AFL doing this!). People die from being punched. It is never acceptable and Clarkson (Alistair) should be charged with bringing the game into disrepute.

THE DRUG SCANDAL: AFL TRIBUNAL DECIDES
Flying Cloud replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Essendon and by and large their supporters have not learnt a thing. What we continue to hear is " We had an out of control drug program, BUT...", or "We should have done better" BUT...." They always have a BUT at the end. BUT ASADA has taken too long, BUT the AFL made us self report, BUT all the other clubs were doing it, BUT all the the other clubs supporters are picking on us, BUT the evidence was collected illegally, BUT the players are innocent pawns. I listened to Little and Hird yesterday. Little actually sounded contrite in his prepared statement. However as soon as the questions started he reverted to form. Hird didn't even wait until the questions started "I am sorry BUT......" Well perhaps we might not be so down on Essendon and supporters if they just stood up and said "We did the wrong thing we are sorry. What we did was totally wrong. We accept that we were very lucky to penalized as little as we were. NO BUTS." -
I consider myself very fortunate to have had him as a teacher over several years. He was a great teacher, and a wonderful bloke. After my father, the second major influence in why I follow the Dees. http://www.thecourier.com.au/story/2964989/city-loses-a-footy-champ/?cs=61

I reckon this is piece put out by the AFL as a starting salvo for the next round of the of the CBA negotiations.
-
I am guessing one problem with ditching them would be the worry about the ensuing court cases, and worse the possibility of an injunction against the competition continuing until the court cases are resolved.
-
I seem to remember 3 or 4 Collingwood players jumping on Jack Watts in his first game. OH&S on the footy field is bumkin. If you sign up for it you get what is coming as long as it is within the rules.
-
Perhaps we should change our jumper to green. May get more support from the new local member!

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
Flying Cloud replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
Aren't they banned from training with the rest of team as well, so even if they do get the players back through the year it is unlikely they will gel before the year is over.
