Cheers mate. I had advocated before that we find a FIFO solution to retain Burg, mainly around fitness and motivation, but I think I underestimated his gameday role and how much in sync he was with our head coach.

PFFC - If I trumped you for a FF with some actual legs left, I'll trade you Jeremy Cameron for Buddy and pick 31 (which is allowed in this fantasy trade scenario, because I made up the rules to begin with).

If picket claims one of your or mine or adonskis, then that drafter can slot back in and take the next pick.

Take your two picks WERRIDEE. If Pick wants to be a C-nut and claim one of yours so be it. Like I doubt we're giving up any great IP at this stage.

Remember that time Jack Viney and Tomald ended up in a punch-up? I'm a pacifist through-and-through, but it was pretty cool. Now what, they're training partners? Boo a bit.

As an artist, I absorb influences from everywhere, such as by rubbing the Morgan goo all over my body, and then spit out all sorts of new artistic creations. It's a fairly standard part of the artistic process and practice. But if you're not an artist you probably wouldn't understand. I'm an artist though. Artists know that one plus one equals three, or maybe even four, some of the times.

Will go back and listen to the podcast now. But as a preliminary point, I randomly stumbled across a post of Darren's the other day in the course of my regular professional life where he mentioned he'd been drafted in by a specialist elite sport performance recruitment consultancy out of Melbourne. Thought it might have precluded his association with the Adelaide Football Club, but no-go. I've spoken before about the loss of this bloke's IP, but it's way more than that. He has the capacity to motivate others like the very best of top-line coaches. Completely irreplaceable in my opinion. Did anyone else notice him chatting to Goody at length on the side-lines sometime around the third quarter when the tide turned, and Goody being completely all ears? For the gamblers here, I would back in Adelaide to be competing for a flag within three years, that's what I think of Burgess.

Hey @picket fence- you're holding the whole process up.
  9. Skuit replied to Skuit's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Basically. Though I left out the part where I spend most of my time chatting to a smart-mouthed woodpecker perched in the hole of a cactus oozing the essence of Morgan Freeman.

    Weitering. Pick 22.
  11. Eh? I thought Max made note a few years ago that he was just one of three players on our list who had come through the public school system? I reflect on my past and realise I never stood a chance compared to my peers who ended up in private schools. When I was in NZ, the locals would brag about the strength of their Union team against ours as a measure of population. They couldn't comprehend it when I said I've never met anyone who has ever played rugby union. But the same goes for Australian views on cricket, as compared to the Brits. No state school kid there (public means upper-class) plays cricket, they're all chasing the soccer dream.

Adonski, adonski, Skuit, Picket and WERRIDEE next up at this stage, followed by WERRIDEE, Picket, Skuit, adonski and adonski.

Over the weekend I read MaddAddam, partially by candle-light, the conclusion to Margaret Atwood's trilogy beginning with Oryx and Crake, along with Will Self's Phone, neither of which I would particularly recommend. I also had to hunt possums and cook them on the camp-fire.

Like ring in my picks from a phone-box? Smart-phones require power too. And fancy cutting off someone's electricity at 5pm on a Friday knowing full well there will be no service until at least Monday afternoon. Anyways, it doesn't fill me with confidence that no-one took over my hand. With pick 19 I take Jeremy Cameron.

I have about two minutes of internet left until sometime Monday morning. Whoever jumps in first can take over my team. See you all on the flipside.
  16. Skuit replied to Skuit's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
    Did you mean 24 & 25?
  17. Skuit replied to Skuit's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Pick 19 and 30 up for grabs if someone wants to offer up a pair of picks in the 20s.

Skuit trading in Green for Steele and Macrae may be marginally okay, but probably a serious mistake if framed as Hawkins and May. Hopefully the latter pair will bust each other up at training.

It's a DeeSpencer-inspired pick-for-pick to see who can draft the best team and then boast about their brilliance. Wanna take over my hand? I forgot to change the electricity account in my new place and the bastards cut off my power at 5pm on a Friday. Candles and hand-cranked internet for me this weekend. Or someone else (I got you Trac!)?

Haha, an unexpected haymaker from the cheap seats. The tab over from this one on my computer is the novel I'm writing about a somewhat distorted character who shares my basic bio being stuck in the post-apocalyptic Mojave desert setting of one of my earlier novels after being digitally recreated by a troop of simian Google acolytes who misinterpret my internet browsing history. .
  23. Skuit replied to Skuit's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
And then @adonski, who already has the Bont in his pocket, gets four picks in a row,. Can't wait to see what the end of round d 2 looks like, before it starts to get loose.
  24. Skuit replied to Skuit's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
    Picks 7 and 10 belong to @picket fenceand 8 and 9 to @WERRIDEE.
