  1. Not all emergencies are created equal. Usually two will be carryover/travelling emergencies. Having said that, it is a reasonable possibility that Max might need a break – perfect opportunity to give TC a run against Xerri.
  2. Doubt it. He’s been a bit better over the last year – since they played him back for a few games last year. Thought I heard a dodgy comment last night about him having an Eric–tion during a purple patch in the second quarter. Not sure how that went to air, if in fact I heard it correctly.
  3. Who’s scoring the goals in the soccer?
  4. I think it was around 40 minutes last week, and probably about the same this week. I will say that I have not seen the replay as yet, as I was at the AFL game. Someone told me today that Verrall and Fullarton were doing extra runs around Casey to make up for lack of minutes – the same as they needed to do last week after the game against Gold Coast. I would guess that the FD has requested that TC was given an intense loading as he missed the previous game against Essendon – and then of course we all had a bye. It looks like he is their second banana in case Gawn gets injured. The only problem being that he is also 34, and has had 2x Soft tissue injuries this year so far. I wouldn’t be confident on him not doing another one in an intense AFL game. Not sure why both players could not have been on the field at the same time a bit more often? Especially with JVR and Jeff in the firsts.
  5. Here’s an idea. Why not play one of the 2 actual rucks that are in the twos? The forward line stuff up happened after we tried to put every man and their dog through the ruck position. Then it’s been, “ oh he competes well,” or “he gives us something around the ground”. Meanwhile, they are either not in the forward line, or they’re too buggered when they get back there.
  6. This picture tells the story absolutely. Timeline 1: 11:44. On the replay for those playing along at Home. I was sitting right behind Lever here. Harvey was pleading for him to give the handball over the top, which, you can see, would have resulted in a beautiful overlap down the wing and probably a goal. We still had them on the ropes at this stage, and needed to play fast and put their back line under pressure. That’s how we kicked the first five goals of the second quarter. Jake has no confidence in himself and his decisions/skills. Instead of the handball, which would’ve been easy, he kicked backwards to Disco who then kicked it back to him – for him to just bomb it long to a contest. It looks like the Young players know what is required – it is mainly the old heads that need a good kick in the [censored].
  7. Unfortunately I think Jeff is a 2nd/3rd tall - think Gunston type. Problem is we don’t have a first or second tall.
  8. Exactly the opposite. Keep him the hell away from Selwyn - I’m convinced he doesn’t know what the [censored] he’s doing. It’s a plot to ruin us by putting him here. The only ones playing any good are the ones that didn’t do a preseason with him.
  9. 5 straight this quarter 🥲
  10. Maybe it was the other way around??
  11. 5 goals to JVR 10 goals to Jeff Easy Find me in the Hookes bar at the end 😀
  12. Just bad luck and bad timing and possibly putting himself in harms way more often than not – nothing else. A good player and a good bloke. Wishing him a good recovery.
  13. On the positive side, it was good to catch up with some quality Netball during Saturday afternoon.
  14. If they don’t want to wear a bubble, or maybe a hula hoop skirt? Or dress up as Davros? I can see now that they will put a 2m x1m shaded area next to the Centre circle that will be verboten for players to enter.
  15. It will never happen
  16. Just saw another umpire shirtfront against Caddy. He will probably get a fine. Got me thinking and I think I’ve found a solution:
  17. Anything could happen in this match. They’ve been pretty active recruiting – though not as active as Casey. They are missing Keogh in ruck but have replaced him with Furphy from Geelong, who has very little impact around the ground. Gentile usually has a big game against us. It would be nice if somebody could stop that – Baldi? Woey??
  18. I would say that we really don’t know what we have in the spares box. Brisbane had one of the longest injury lists of all last year. Because they were forced to play first year players, they discovered that Logan Morris was ready to play. If they had a fit list, he probably wouldn’t have played as yet. I would throw the keys to anybody who has shown themselves able to win a one on one clearance. Chandler, Windsor, McVee, Bowery, Tholstrup, Laurie, Langford, Lindsay, Woey, Culley and Brown. Hell, I’d even throw Adams and Verrall through there, just to see what they had.
  19. Surely there’s about 40 players that could currently be cut comfortably. That, and talk about test rings, no wonder people are getting carried away. Go hard, go early!
  20. Yes, the Casey listed players have been doing a lot of the heavy lifting this year. Sometimes I get the feeling that the AFL players have been given conflicting roles which has led to some confused performances.
  21. It seems weird, but I think he’s the same draft class as half of their team. Not that that’s stopping them, dammit.
  22. Caught them by surprise, I think. To be fair, I don’t think they were expecting the bedding or the bowel movement at the beginning of this round.
  23. True. But I can’t see him making a comeback.
  24. I don’t think I’m alone here, when I say that I would like to see the Casey side not only used for development of players, but also for winning the VFL, and assisting with creating a winning culture. Part of the reason why they lost yesterday was the over-reliance of half the side, and leaving the other half to play 20–40 minutes. It looks like it could’ve been a good chance to play JVR and Verrall in the back line, while pushing Adams and Hore to the wings. Maybe Woey could have more time in the centre?
