Not too much wrong with the rule – just the turnips in charge that have no idea what they are doing. They are not 50 years old, so they have never seen a correct interpretation with this rule. They might need some copies of world of sport from 1973 to review. Probably start with one umpire throwing the ball up and a different umpire looking at the contest. It’s asking a bit much for them to multitask when it doesn’t seem like they’re able to throw the ball up in a straight line. No wonder they had trouble bouncing the thing.
