I think our midfield is one of worst in the league when you consider that a 32 year old Viney is now our ‘premier’ midfielder, and even he’s in doubt for round 1. Instead of a near certain MCG win, we travelled up to Alice complete lifeless and complacent and ended up disgracing oursleves with a 7.21 effort and then proceeded to win 2 more games for the year. Sure enough we win a premiership away from our heartland in a year where we absolutely stood up as a club, thus denying the majority of members the experience of a lifetime. Watching a premiership in a draconian lockdown with sub standard Channel 7 commentary ain’t nothing on what Bulldogs and Richmond supporters got to experience in 2016 and 2017 respectively. I reckon a lot of today’s angst stems from Victorian, NSW, ACT and QLD based member missing the experience of a life time and they’re concerned they might never see a flag in attendance at the MCG, or at least share the experience with family and friends in a suitable environment.
