The Reels were a brilliant band.

Very percussive.  A friend reckoned that standing up near the stage was like being caught in a pin-ball machine.  Possibly when they first hit Melbourne from Dubbo.  Still loved them.

  2. Warner Bros owns the trademark, Tasmanian Devil.  The AFL applied for a Trademrk, Tasmania Devils, in 2019 but it has not proceded.  This has been reported on several news sites.

I favour "Tasmanian Tigers" to ignite another team.

Love Sam. he can’t change what he is. a nice footballer. like Watts. great kick but no mongrel

that said he will play all season for the cheats and might improve

It is official folklore of the Eighties (and from ex-players, too) that rugged Essendon full-back Ronnie Andrews would toughen up the downy-cheeked recruits by taking them pig-shooting.  Now we know where we were went wrong.

Both Sam and Jacob are currently listed at 193cm. (Sam 85kg, Jacob 96kg)
Both are young boys so still have some growth to come.

JVR listed at 193 should be 2 or 3 cm shorter than Lever and Petty.  I saw him coming up the race next to Lever and standing next to Petty. Instead he looked 2 or 3 cm taller.  Maybe he has grown.

Just curious really but will claim that it is compromising my football betting so that I may spit the dummy.

  5. Don't see a problem to be fixed.

If the Football Deptartments can't or won't do their job, they need to retire or improve and not expect the players to bail them out.   If you freely make a contract, you should stand by it and cop the consquences of soft earlier decisions.

Still disappointed that Woey Senior and Jack W didn't tell the club to stick it.

Yeah...seems odd doesn't it ..... but his life his choices I suppose.

To the best of my understanding his accepting the risk of brain damage doesn't reduce the Swans' duty of care.  A lawsuit in ten years time is inevitable as the Swans should have known.  Possibly an investigation by SafeWork NSW (like Worksafe etc)  That is a most unwise pick-up by the Swans.

  7. Say what you like about BT but he came up the phrase "Fritsch-magnet" c. Round 18 2021 (or was it 2022?🤔).

An early entrant for the prestigious Golden Dermie, is Chris Johnson specially commenting on the match against the Swans.  Throughout the second half, he waxed lyrical about the masterstroke of replacing a fit BBrown with Melksham.  The Boundary Rider must have been asleep.  Furthermore, he said that Melksham was a player that would "fight and scrap for you).  Not the strengths of the Melksham that I see (also noted in last week's podcast).

  8. On the telly, got a great view of Chandler bouncing pinball-style from Swan to Swan to Swan on the back-line without getting a stat.  Has he in one game gone past Spargo as the hard-running defensive forward?

Similarly we can pass the defender role for a Charlie Cameron-type from Hibberd to McVee.  I didn't watch enough of Casey last year to have an opinion.  Hibberd had a stellar game at Casey last week.  However, I thought that he has dropped off in the firsts and lost his player a bit.

Gee, Tomlinson played well at Casey; just gotta love the big guy.  Has he a role in the firsts?  Melksham played well as sub this week.  But I am still twitchy about losing Gawn and TMac for 193cm Rooooey and a mid-size player.

Never fails to amaze me, how we always have good players missing before the first game.

Which is of course why TMac got a gig as a key forward in 2021.  Looking forward to see what this year throws up.

What happened to Jankovich? He was so good but out of footy so fast... Injury prone?

He suffered from back injuries.  He went to work on fishing boats in the Gulf of Carpentaria where the beer, wild women and fishing is.  He came back the next year and was drafted by the Bullies but only played a handful of games.

This is going to sound dumb but I stopped going coz I think I am a curse on the team, as soon as I stopped in 2019 we started to rise.

    I have a cunning plan*

Kick the ball to the wing. Winger to hold the ball for an eternity, then kick to forward (left) pocket where everyone is congregated, ignoring any leads from teammates elsewhere.

  13. Pre-Covid the trucks were dumping dirt in the gully west of the Airport Golf club (bastards!)  and apparently are again.  The N-S runway (i.e. not pointing at the Bummers) is preferred because that is the way that Sydney is.  So that one first.  The E-W is short because they only use it when there is a strong wind (E-W) which pulls them up nicely when heading into same..
