  1. You are correct on Georgiadis. On McKay, not so sure. Carlton may have been considered an almost finals team but they didn't actually make it until 2023. There was no warranty at the end of 2022 that Carlton would actually be contending for finals.
  2. We got 80k against Geelong in 2018. What a night!
  3. I understand the Lynch situation. But I'd wager the McKay situation was a bit different. For one, we had the LJ money available. Then Carlton made it clear their number one was Curnow. Finally, Carlton underachieved in 2022 and didn't make finals. Just a missed opportunity in my opinion.
  4. End of 2022. Should remember that in 2022 McKay was out of contract. Carlton proceeded to re-sign Curnow first (and probably with more money than McKay). Weideman was last used regularly in our 22 back in 2020. I think by 2022 it was clear he wasn't it. TMac and BBB were close to the end. It made sense to rejuvenate our KPF position.
  5. Somewhat, but they are not money makers. I guess they are more than happy to see them competing, not sure they'd be happy with expansion teams making it to the GF.
  6. That doesn't explain why a top 4 contender team, with a flag in 2021, wasn't attractive enough. Take for example McKay. We could have told him, you'll be number 1 in our team (unlike sharing the spotlight with Curnow) and our team is competing for more flags, and you are the missing piece. Same thing that probably brought Lynch to Richmond in 2018.
  7. So finals started with only 3 VIC teams. We are down to 6 and we still have the same 3 VIC teams, AFL HOuse must be very happy.
  8. 2022 we got arrogant and thought the GF was a given. Never rested players when necessary and lost our fitness guru before the pre season. 2023 learnerd the lessons from 2022 but due to a combination of bad luck, a thug and horrendous kicking we went out in straight sets again.
  9. God's Country Cranbourne - Pakenham, the gate to the Gippsland.
  10. Don't forget Kozzy this year, like honestly FO Freo. Go get players from the Weagles.
  11. They used to be likeable until they started stealing our star players. [censored]'em.
  12. Maybe their list is a bit overrated? Their midfield is impressive, they have Pearce and then handy players in front but I can't stop thinking Freo are not a fully formed contender.
  13. Tbh they were lucky to be a chance in the last quarter. GC outworked them all around the ground for 3 quarters.
  14. Y'all are forgetting the legend Shache
  15. I think it's the continuation of the tackle. As soon as the ball is free the defender must release the man. Not easy to call but I think the holding was there.
  16. Suck that up Freo. You steal our players and game plan but zero flags for you 🤭
  17. I'd take the Bont.
  18. We should have both if not for the AFL.
  19. Players doing Hero stuff. Taking 4 tackles in a row.
  20. Hear hear!
  21. Easier to do when you have the full protection from AFL HQ and the media. You then add the millions of dollars from taxpayers, how can you lose? But no, there is no money for the silver spoon rich boys of the MFC (Caulfield project).
  22. I stumbled upon an ad with Petracca and Dangerfield. Of course it was about cooking, Coles sponsored. In the video Dangerfield is wearing Geelong's shirt while Petracca is in full "civil" clothes. Clearly the ad is footy oriented, why no demons shirt?
  23. Anyway, sometimes it takes the same amount of time to travel all the way to Adelaide compared to going from Melton to Pakenham. Nothing more than your typical peak hour traffic in Melbourne.
  24. So I should blame those Adelaide supporters for letting the filth mob invade their home ground 😅
