Probably not counter-intuitive at all. There is a very strong French influence in Vietnam, particularly the North. The best thing the French did for Vietnam was to leave, but the food influence is fantastic.
Now what are we supposed to be discussing?
Correct. That is why so many bakeries here are run by Vietnamese. French colonial architecture great also. Strategic exits, not so good.

Our firm takes on graduates fresh out of uni every year. Maybe it's our recruitment processes, I don't know, but they are as hard working and switched on as previous cohorts. Definitely not snowflakes as they are sometimes portrayed to be. I'm in finance so might be different in other sectors
The increases in anxiety could just be a consequence of greater acceptance in society of mental health as opposed to an actual increase. Having said that I can't see how social media and the pile on culture could be anything other than detrimental to people's mental health
In previous years players got slaps on the back and some abuse over the fence. Now there is an avalanche of personal criticism.
"Your opinion of me is none of business" would help. But easier said than done.

I would be interested to read the business plan. I've read hundreds over many years and have yet to see one which didn't show a resounding success.

Any regular Casey viewers have thoughts on the B&F votes?
Hard to argue with the top 4 -5 players, but I thought Brown, Bedford, Tomlinson and Weideman all had better years than Laurie and probably Woewodin as well.
Well done to Munro, Dunstan and White who carried the team to a premiership and were deservedly top 3 in the B&F.
I would say you are correct: Brown Bedford Tomlinson and Weideman did far more than both Laurie and Woewodin.
I wouldn't say the top 3 ( deservedly ) "carried" the team. Far from it. Very widely spread effort with spots very contested for non listed players. But White and Munro outstanding competitors.

Hi Sue,
I hope you never get to sit on a jury.

What does that mean?
Resolved in what sense - a legal sense?
If resolved in the sense of the Hawks taking responsibility for their behaviour, choosing to accept the findings of a report they they themselves commissioned, and choosing to believe their ex players and partners, then that is wholly up to the Hawthorn Football Club.
By the by, what the hell does independent witnesses mean? Independent of whom?
What I mean is that I would be surprised if those accused of this agree with what has been alleged. Those accused are entitled to give their version of events. Independent means independent. It is not clear if the authors of the report spoke to the alleged perpetrators.

Who did the review? In the absence of admissions, documents or independent witnesses it will never be fully resolved.

Very hard to absorb this. But there shouldn't be a rush to judgement. Such a shame. There better be a coherent response.

What a great day.
After some early jitters, the boys just didn't blink. Relentless in pretty uncomfortable conditions. They were never going to lose with that application.
They seemed to have played the whole season in good spirit.
Only one gripe. Why oh why do they play that terrible music after goals. It is horrible. After a goal you want to cheer, boo, explain, clarify to your mate, complain about the umpire, whatever. Leave the music to sports that need it. Our game doesn't.
Go Casey.

Saw Daisy's comments. Also read with interest the comments of that girl who won MasterChef. Goodwin? Can't wait to hear from someone from The Block.

Jayden Hunt Harry Petty and Bailey Fritsch played in that game. Fritsch was dropped from the Team that played The Eagles in the PF
Only Munro and White are playing in the game on Sunday.
add Grey to the both games list.
No, Grey wasn't playing for Casey in 2018. He was still at st Bede's. I am told by his schoolmate that he won 5 straight GFs at st Bede's plus 6 straight at Beaumaris. Tomorrow will be 12 in 7 completed seasons plus a Herald Sun shield if Casey wins.

If you don’t renew your membership because of 2 players leaving then maybe footy is not for you.

I'm not sure $ can be spent on players. There are very modest caps in place?

Human nature being what it is, I can't help thinking that if a few players had been demoted for poor form the rest of the team would have found something extra in the second halves. I know my performance at home improves if I think I might be replaced the next week.

I believe Rivers is ineligible, played more than 12 AFL games. Bowey same.

Agree, the commentary around the Rosman incident was inappropriate..very 1970's. In fairness, the commentators have only an instant to frame their words. But not good.

I believe they are both good to play.
My understanding is that because Joel Smith didn't play in a home and away AFL game after 1 July, he doesn't need to have played 6 VFL games.
Tom is also good to go...he didn't play an AFL game after 1 July, so similar applies.
My understanding is bowey can't play as he played more than 12 AFL games.
Rules are poorly written plus I stand to be corrected.

Perhaps Malthouse can help the demons negotiate the Grundy deal as he did for Carlton with Daisy.
Oh, hang on...

Re Bell, I have seen him play quite a bit so I must fit into the clueless group. I think he has shown steady improvement...if the improvement continues, which I expect, he may well have merit.

My, probably minority and certainly irrelevant, reaction to Daniher heading home for the birth is disbelief. That reaction must be shared by at least some of his team. Good.
The conception is another matter. Should be there on that occasion.

That doesn't make a lot of sense to me. No point playing in the 2's if a foot is dodgy. Better to play firsts if able and rest if unable. 14? games plus finals may be ok.
I doubt his doctors have indicated as reported this far out and would have made that suggestion in any event.
