  1. At first I was upset. Now, I'm almost glad. He has checked out the last couple of seasons. Look, Iโ€™m not blind to how tough injuries or mental strain can be. We all expected him to lean into the club, lean into rehab. Instead, he drifted. He went quiet. He took time away, and we get snippets through media about trauma, insomnia, mental health. Then the whispers that he was frustrated with how Melbourne treated him, with the culture, with the leadership. When change finally arrives, presumably promising a fresh start and King steps in he doesnโ€™t even stick around to see it through. So hopes for next season? I'm not sure. We ended up where we were with Trac and Clarry being average most of the season.
  2. Whatever do you mean? ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜œ
  3. I'm just hoping it's one of those elaborate setups. Tell 5 different people 5 different things and see who spills first to the media ๐Ÿ˜‚
  4. Coaches my local QAFL team. Legend.
  5. This. I think we will see a greater improvement in him next season. But what do I know, I go into every season optimistic!
  6. Yes, especially after hearing their players after the game and then Fagan, for a bunch of kids they are way more mature than our so called leaders.
  7. I wouldn't be surprised to see him come back better next season. Let's just see if all the Petracca drama this time round will put players off again.
  8. There is always talk about an AFL team going for him, so it's big kudos for his judgement.
  9. I think him going through this process was his kick in the butt to Gale to make a decision about the Tassie role.
  10. To me he always came across as that parent who tries to be their kids friend.
  11. As a Blackburn Rovers fan, I am still distraught he was sacked by Venky's.
  12. I also think he had a lot going on outside of football that was distracting him.
  13. I think the timing is good, and believe what they say or not, Goodwin wanted to leave now and not see out the remainder. Three weeks head start potentially on Carlton. Thanks for all your work, Goody.
  14. Is that in General Admission?
  15. I'll actually be down in Melbourne for this game. Where will the majority of Dees fans be sitting at Marvel? Not been to a game down in Melbourne in an eternity!
  16. Wasn't half the reason he moved to Brisbane and then retired was because he didn't want to be in the fishbowl that is the Melbourne football public?

Is there actually a suppression order in place? I've not seen anything about it apart from hearsay on socials.

This is the same James Hird: James Hird, the former Essendon Football Club player and coach, has been at the center of discussions surrounding media privacy and mental health, particularly following the Essendon supplements saga. Mental Health StrugglesIn a candid interview with AIA Vitality Ambassador Shane Crawford, Hird opened up about his mental health battles, detailing the intense challenges he faced and the steps he took towards recovery. He emphasized the importance of seeking help and the role of support systems in overcoming such struggles. Hird also revealed that a pivotal moment in his recovery was a phone call to a mental health organization in 2015, which helped him navigate a particularly dark period after his retirement from professional football. Media Scrutiny and Privacy ConcernsFollowing a major health scare in 2017, Hird's wife, Tania Hird, publicly pleaded for privacy as he recovered. The media's intense coverage of the incident drew criticism from mental health advocates, who called for more respectful and sensitive reporting. An article from Monash University further highlighted concerns about invasive reporting, suggesting that such media practices can breach an individual's right to privacy, especially during vulnerable times.

Weird. I emailed Brad Green yesterday about the treatment of Clayton in the media and the club should do something about it. Then a few hours later he does his tweet. Give me a job as the media manager ๐Ÿ˜…
  20. Exactly. Was excruciating listening to the commentary panel gush over GWS after the game.

Oh no. Viney is drinking. Front page material there.
  22. Never seen this kid play, so don't know what he's like. But if he's good, I'd hate to lose him, especially to GC.
  23. Interesting. I thought I had heard a while ago the Brisbane Bronco's were after Rodski, but he was staying in Melbourne.
  24. I'm down in Melbourne for a few days July. Be gutted if no game on then!
  25. Good St Laurence's boy. Get him in ๐Ÿ˜‰
