  1. Cheap Seats does remind me of those woodland creatures. And yes, I have seen that episode…
  2. If you’re going to fix the ‘grammer’ you might want to do the spell check too… And, no, the ‘keep him in the VFL’ argument does not have merrit. Unless ‘merrit’ is a small woodland creature or something.
  3. Melksham replacement who can do a bit more than him. His smarts are good, not as good as Jake but who is. Also might mean Spargo finds it even more difficult to get a spot in the 22.
  4. Yeah, I don’t see why he starts back. He can move there if things aren’t working and allow us to go smaller and quicker up forward with Laurie. But I don’t see Fritsch, McDonald, and Smith too tall… Like far from it…
  5. Who is saying he is going to ‘walk out’ other than your strawman argument? My point is against those that say ‘what about if Gawn is injured?’ Are essentially saying ‘He needs to stay in the VFL for 4 months of the year including finals’ These are people. People who the club cares for like any good employer. Small detail I guess…
  6. Yeah, it’s really disappointing how many just don’t seem to care about Brodie’s position here; he’s an amazing ruck in his prime - he shouldn’t be playing VFL.
  7. That’s soft rah rah. He needs to get back out there with the boys rah rah fart.
  8. What if the flu ravages the team similar to Geelong 2021??
  9. Jaded at 8.45 walking toward Swan St:
  10. Nah, it’s it’s spelled ‘Howe’
  11. If we don’t win on Thursday then our side of the draw becomes a group of death with Melb, Carl, and Bris in Bris. The other side will be GWS/StK, Coll, and Port… Another blow out GF coming… Execute on Thursday night and life is easier.
  12. No, Taylor and Lamb go up to get someone. Like they tried to Humphries last year and like they did to get Oliver and Pickett. It’s not going up for the sake of going up - it’s to get a specific player.
  13. Even harder to quote. I don’t know - anyone who is a chance of playing in the team would be a start.
  14. He will have a preference and we hopefully want to free up the cap space for first 18 player - both things negate whatever increase in value Grundy has seen in this ‘fit and capable’ year.
  15. To further the reward for the top team and to avoid similar situations like the Pies having to play us when 2 more preferable teams finished above us. In the NBA there are some teams that have injuries and then their best teams come good and they scrape into the playoffs. The Lakers won the play in tournament and Le Bron and Davis smashed through the 2nd seed Grizzlies from 7th. Memphis would have picked the injury riddled Clippers instead and advanced. Again, I wouldn’t necessarily make this my first change when I become the Emperor of the AFL (all power be upon me), but it has merit.
  16. It may happen in the future - the top team chooses their opponent. NBA is flirting with that idea. I can see the merit.
  17. He needs a chop out but we always needed a forward who can ruck and not a flat out ruck - Goodwin thought in 2022 that we could turn Gawn into that forward who rucks and it was a mistake. A mistake that Gawn can’t stop waxing lyrical about. Just go and get that forward who can ruck. Got plenty of cash (if Grundy leaves), picks and clout - just get it done.
  18. Prepare to be disappointed and angry… …and whatever emotion is left because I still think we’ll win… …horny?
  19. If Gawn doesn’t do a knee and we do have Grundy on the list - how does Grundy play AFL footy next year?
  20. Max was so raw when he was young. Baby giraffes take 6+ years to come good. I’m glad we made the investment. Jefferson should take less time if he is to be something but I think he needs to be 22/3 before his body is ready to take what is coming to him if he plays as a tall in a forward line.
  21. One exercise might be helpful as the masses on here are convincing themselves of our superiority - if we were to lose, why would that happen? What I see; we may struggle to take advantage of periods of dominance if Fritsch or CP5 aren’t firing, we may be cut through with the Pies ball movement and because of high press they may get 4 great looks in a hurry, we might fall back into some bad habits around slow ball movement out of the backline and tied with losing stoppages it would just invite pressure… Anyway, exploration of those scenarios would be helpful - because you will talk plenty about the reverse.
  22. Cal Twomey asked Paul Connors - it’s between Coll and Grundy for the life of the contract. There is no deal between Melb and Coll.
