Sam already has Level 3 Coaching, and the benefit post-playing is furthering this at a club that is not Hawthorn but within the Clarkson coaching tree. I think we expect way too much from first year players. They don't get drafted until late November and in most cases have only played against other kids. Academy selections have been in the system for 3-4 years getting prepared at and for AFL level performance. It's a nice head start to have.
