  1. Jack Viney was Massive once again. Such a beast. GIves 1000% and leaves nothing on the field. His last quarter was immense. 10 disposals 6 contested possessions 4 clearances (all from the centre bounce) 4 inside 50s
  2. 6. Viney 5. Pickett 4. Langdon 3. Salem 2. Chandler 1. Gawn
  3. Winning ugly still banks the 4 points and I'll gladly take them any given Sunday. Viney was huge. Welcome back Chin. I really like Thomo. Had a fantastic first quarter.
  4. What do you fellas think of using Joel Smith as our Super Sub? Can slot in forward or back and if a mid goes down we have plenty of players that can roll through the middle. Or do we need to give him some more game minutes to see what he can bring to the table?
  5. Essendon is Tom Hawkins 🐰
  6. I don't know why but I have a strong feeling we win this week. Can't wait to be back to the G this week. Feels like forever that I've had a lukewarm pie there.
  7. It could be Longmire's last game as coach too. What is his contract status? He may hang up the whiteboard.
  8. I didn't have high hopes for this thread at the beginning of the season but I'm a fully fledged Deathrider now.
  9. 6. May 5. Jordon 4. Salem 3. Trac 2. Viney 1. Rivers
  10. Forward connection and accuracy was a lot better this week. Any concerns that the victory was aided by the fact that the Saints were 3 men down from quarter time?
  11. Logged on to Demonland and was going to post about how Dees have really struggled this year in the wet conditions but see that someone beat me to it and has already started a thread about this. This year we have played 3 games in wet conditions, Essendon, Port & now Geelong and in all 3 games we have struggled in these conditions. We just can't seem to adjust our gameplan to play in the wet so what is the solution?
  12. This. Do NOT underestimate Chris Scott and his ability to do his homework on a team and exploit any weaknesses. He doesn't get caught napping and he will be all over us if we play predictable. Hopefully we continue our 2023 tactical form of mixing things up. I'm more confident going into this match than I have been in past matches against the Cats but that could fly out the window very early if the Cats get a fast start like they did last week. Hopefully they run out of gas like they did last week but we can't bank on that. Teams always seem to find another gear against us. Look at Freo the other week.
  13. Loved everything about the day (except for our kicking for goal) but my favourite was Neale's guard of honour and Goody hugging him.
  14. I hope they were feeling the effects of the flu then my schadenfreude won't have been misplaced.
  15. The podcast has gone to another level this year. My sincere thanks to all involved. Each of you bring something different to the table and it is very clear that a lot of time and effort goes into the format and analysis. If you have time I would love to get your thoughts and opinions on our run home? What are the danger games and are you concerned that our potential lead in to the finals could be deemed as "soft" with games against Adelaide (if they still can't win out of SA), Richmond (if finals are out of their reach), North in Tassie (is our Tassie hoodoo over), Carlton (hopefully blind freddy will see they are tanking by then), Hawthorn (just lay down for us this time you've got nothing to prove) & the Swans (hopefully they are not playing for their coach's swansong)? Keep up the great work. LOVE LOVE LOVE the podcast.
  16. Port Lions Dockers Saints Blues Dogs
  17. YES!!! 3 more years for the Chin Chandler. Great perseverance has paid off.
  18. Just want to echo @mandeelorian comments on another fantastic podcast from @Demonland, @george_on_the_outer & @binman. The nearly 3 hours just flew by. Quality from the panel and the posters who provided questions. Yes and let's get Bo onto Demonland !!!
  19. Round of applause for Judd McVee for his game this week (and last week, in fact for his whole season). He is fast becoming one of my favourite players. The kid never looks flustered even on the big stage in front of 85,000 people. He's skillful, balanced & poised. He is a great judge of the play and knows when to leave his man. This was best highlighted when he left his man and forced the turnover that ended with the Hunter bump (great highlight too) that ended with Grundy having a shot for goal. Can't believe he hasn't received a rising star nomination yet but I'm positive he'll have one by season's end.
  20. Sensational interview @Demonland. I really enjoyed that one. Troy is very well spoken and seems to have a sound knowledge of the game. We're lucky to have him.
  21. Any updates on Clarry's condition?
  22. Couple of big matchups in defence on Kings Birthday. The bigs Mason Cox, Ash Johnson & Brodie Mihocek. All 3 are have given us problems before. Pains me to say it but I’m worried the most about Cox. Who takes who? We usually struggle against the Charlie Cameron/Tom Papley type small forwards. Who runs with Bobby Hill?
  23. Are we playing one small forwards too many? Should we be playing another midfielder that can be rolled into the midfield rotation?
  24. I'll add that anybody who claimed that Michael Hibberd was finished can join the Charlie Spargo naysayers.
  25. It's no secret that we have not had a settled backline this season with injuries to some key members at different times May, Lever, Hibbo and Salo and Petty playing forward. We also seem to struggle once the ball hits he deck. Teams are finding it very easy to score against us in the chaos. Is this a symptom of not getting a good run of the same 6 or 7 players or is the ball coming in too quick? I fear some of the stronger teams will destroy us.
