I think the improvement has come down to on-field application. Our skills may have increased a little, but it's the tackling, spoiling and HUNTING AS A TEAM PACK that has been the biggest improvement. That's where the best teams win consistantly (St Kilda) and the worst teams lose (Richmond, Wet Toast)
In saying that all these talented players not playing must surely be increasing the skill level of the lower rung of players because they see what they have to do to get a game and have increased accordingly.
I wouldn't read too much into the article. It's just one small grab from a press conference they have every week and mostly it's the same old dribble. Forget about it and play the game on it's merits.

Hi all,
I'm a bit worried about the possibility of Ricky going to the Gold Coast. He has put off contract talks with the club, and comments between he and Jeff White on twitter recently did nothing to ease my concern. The general gist of the exchange between Jeff and Ricky on twitter was:
Ricky - Absolutely cooked! early morning in gods country tomoro!
Jeff - @Rickypetterd15 Gold Coast?
Ricky - @JeffWhite34..yeh great place..hahah
Now feel free to lay into me if I'm reading too much into something so innocuous on twitter! But is anybody else worried about the delayed contract talks and the fact that Ricky is originally from Queensland? Hopefully the club can sort it out soon and we can keep one of our future stars!
Also, please don't judge the numbers at the end of my username - I would much rather Brad Miller go back to Qld than Petterd hahaha
I've heard some of them call Casey God's country, I'm sure that's what he was referring to.
But on a related topic right at the end of the Brisbane game Petterd and Sylvia were have a red hot crack at each other while all the others were shaking hands. Saw it on the replay that I watched this afternoon...... Not sure if there is anything in this, sure hope not

I know I shouldn't, but I've been looking at the Kangas bigfooty forum, (do they have one of their own) and my oh my what a bunch of flogs.
Do they realise they beat the most overrated team this century last round with no ruckman at all?
Do they realise we have some form?
I threw up a little in my mouth.
Can we PLEASE show the pressure and intensity of the last three weeks and win, and if we have to have a letdown please make against the bullies.
I detest, detest, detest North Melbourne

Do we need to get a ticket, like an Essendon home game?
Or do we just scan our membership ticket.... I have no idea.....
I don't want to stuff this up, my wife won't be there this week to get me out of the [censored]

I hope we don't play like Geelong next weekend!!!!!!!!!
-
Pumped? He's going troppo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bruce continues to put his team mates under pressure when kicking. It might count as an effective disposal but if your teammate gets the ball then instantly gets tackled and turns it over it doesn't count against you. In saying that there wasn't nearly as much of this from him as normal.
I'll continue to to bag his disposal at games. It's genetic...
-
I seem to recall that their ruck/forward type players have a nasty habit of tearing us apart.
I recall our ruck/forward types playing like sacks against them. Doesn't seem to happen these days!
-
So far in there short short careers NicNat owns Watts so please be nice when bagging a player
No, the media owns Nait 'cheapo possessiono' nui
-
4 useless possessions, one good possession one goal.
I'm happy with that!!!!!!!!!
Onto the main event.
-
Nice goal from Naitanui there from 50m
His only disposal for the quarter
But listen to Russell Crapping on about him being inspiring. Makes me sick
-
Where were you fellow nay-sayers on the Jack Watts thread?
Can't wait to see him on Mark "AA" Jamar.
Jack Watts threads are a no go for me for now. Jamar will smash this chump
-
see that at full back? White was his opponent and just let him run right off. aaarrgggghhhh
3 possessions until half time.
-
I tell you what, he'd be no good in our team, with our relentless pursuit of the ball carrier in the last three weeks and going forward. One weak link and it all falls apart
-
oops there's a handball. He just stands around like a hyena waiting for scraps.
-
I'll preface this by saying he's a very, very overrated player
0 disposals 7 hit outs 2 tackles 12 minute mark second quarter.
Seen running just off the side of the screen ready for an easy possession the whole game so far.
-
Yeah Cam Schwab twitter says cleared. All good!!!
-
IMO and clearly nobody elses Rivers in no longer in our best 22
except, it appears, rhino
-
there was a small note at the back of the sport section of todays paper saying that Rivers and Frawley are on the GC list as they want tall defenders and MFC needs to sign them before seasons end
They can have Rivers - yesterday's hero
-
Matthew Lloyd made the same comments last night about some of the collingwood players and he's right. If you technique is wrong there is nothing you can do to increase your accuaracy. Cloke is the worst example of this

It's hard to be a commentator when you don't commentate. She just says names, that's it. When she tries to come out with something smart it's utter [censored]. Is anybody from channel 10 here? I hope so............
-
So today they have an article about elite sledgers and a text message exchange about the rising start nomination. whoopdy freaken dooo.
-
That women on the channel nine news shows more fight than the Richmond football club!!!!!!!!!!
-
My two cents:
Club website says Sylvia finally back - He'll play
Richmond picked a bunch of midgets - Spencer doesn't fit for the opposition selected
This sight has a love affair with Rivers and I just don't see it. Injury prone and overrated. We conceded 5 goals in a game - there is no spot in the side for him.
Whatever side they put out is fine by me. I have faith in the match committee.
Everyone this weekend get to etihad
in Melbourne Demons

Eat a hat is the least pram friendly stadium i've ever been to. They won't let you sit the disabled seats if there is nobody disabled and there is really nowhere to go with a pram. We just take a very small stroller and hope for the best. Hopefully since it's only north and I've got three kids and no wife this week we will be ok!!
