Is it time to give Jordon a rest?

Only had 4 touches on the weekend

I'd hold on him for another week against the Hawks, but would be cautious not to run him into the ground

He surely cant be tired, we are coming off multiple 7 day breaks and he only plays 65% game time on average.  (Only played 56% vs the Cats).

"Melbourne made a poor decision by trading Jack Watts"..  you were beating your chest about this and now you're afraid to admit  that you were wrong.

    .

Calling Bayley Fritsch an ordinary footballer and wanting him traded. Yeah nah once again you're wrong.. you've got the [censored] with this one purely because we used the pick we got from your lover boy in Watts who's made more of an impact then Watts ever did for the Melbourne Football Club.

Dazzle seeing these comments back to back reminded me of something.    didn't we draft Fritsch with the draft pick we received for Watts?

That could end up being our biggest trade win ever.

Matthew Lloyd had a really good comparison on Footy Classified and gave Jackson a bit of a pump up - compared him to the King brother's, in that he gets to a ton of contests & gets hand to ball attempting to mark, but not quite mature enough to the point they all stick, and that it's only a matter of time til he explodes.

    This is spot on.

With Mitch Lewis suspended for next week, we may not need to replace May this week with a tall.We might bring in Hibberd to gain AFL fitness but I would bring in Petty or Daw to go up against Lynch .I would bring back May to play against Swans if fit, he may have to borrow a helmet from Bradshaw

Petty will play, he will need a proper AFL hitout before we take on Richmonds twin towers and we just dont know when May is back.

Early forecast for this coming Sunday is showers.  Hope thats wrong, we have a massive score and win in us just need a dry deck.

Update -   weather forecast for Sunday now 21 degrees and cloudy,  30% chance of rain.

If it is dry we will kick 20 goals minimum against the bottomfeeder Hawks squad.

    Spargo get real !!

yeah I was a wee bit drunk when I posted that.   Spargo was great don't know why I put his name in.

Ive always been a Spargo fan, always stuck up for him and have been saying since his first year hes our best decision maker inside 50.  His tackling was always good but now it is elite in its technique and effectiveness.

So for the record I rate Spargo as one of our most important forwards and a key part of our offensive machinery and did even before this season.

    Coaches Votes:

    image.png.4c9024a980d3f01d4f8cd82daa69a4e4.png

    By Coach:

    • 5/5 Petracca
    • 4/3 Gawn

The rest are obvious.  Again agreement on the top 2 but no agreement at all on the rest.  I guess it reflects the team effort and overall contribution by 22 players.

    Leader Board

    28 Taylor Walker ADEL
    22 Max Gawn MELB
    22 Jack Macrae WB
    20 Clayton Oliver MELB
    19 Dustin Martin

    RICH

Trac is on 15 votes too.   Hes been so consistent polling in all 4  games.

Great to get a clean sweep of the votes, I thought Chris Scott would throw an encouragement vote at one of his players.

  8. Can live with that.  Thanks to the emergence of Luke Jackson we have the luxury of sending Gawn into the backline for periods to mark everything which should see us in good stead while May is out.

Does it really?  You must live on a completely different planet Earth to me. Maybe the last 10-20 years it has improved for women but by no means does it exist.  Why did you have the response you did then, try explaining?

Are you talking about women in China, Middle East and India?    Because they have it bad.  Real bad.

As for Australia and the west you are living in fantasy land if you think there's gender inequality here.

So this thread is a work in progress, is it meaningful data? I'm not so sure... as one could argue the scoring shots are an output of everything else.

Is anyone still using the AFLpro link on the website? @binman? Does that have a heat map of scores?

I thought I'd start a thread looking at

    • the amount we are scoring
    • the differential
    • anyone else's input into patterns, methodology, tactics, location

    Our cumulative for is wrong.

No way we have kicked more goals than behinds.

Edit -  yup 50.58 is more like it unfortunately!

So he's played well so now we have to put work in to him to make sure he's keen to come to us and also developing well. Yet at the same time we can't have him do too well because if he goes in the top 20 we'll lose access to him!

    Great system..

Yeah the new rule is pitiful.   The Dogs should have to give back Ugle Hagan.

  12. Mac Andrew is getting some media attention.   Nice to be 4-0 with a freakish talent waiting for us in our NGA Academy.  ?

Bit of a worry reading about the new NGA draft rules though and I bet we get shafted.

'He blitzed in the Stingrays' opening game of the season with 22 disposals, six clearances and 11 hitouts against Gippsland Power and took the eye of scouts with his athleticism, skills and movement across the ground.'
