Can't say I was impressed with his admission that he was 'gone' after the Bye, that he flew to his mum and checked out the Eagle den as well. Um, doesn't that mean that focus has evaporated? Doesn't that mean that from Round 14 he was going through the motions? I wonder whether his stats curved negative from that point on...

I was okay with him leaving and understand but the more I hear him speak about he knew from round 14 after meeting them the more I’m getting Jeremy Howe and Tom Scully anger haha kick in the guts that he still couldn’t give us the rest of the year before checking out

I know a kid that was in the Bullies VFL side a couple of years ago. Some if the stories he told me would make anyone cringe

Having said that, probably happens to some extent at most clubs

Yeah I have worked at a couple of vfl clubs and know a couple of people who are good friends with some in the afl and the stories are shocking. Lots of money means lots of abuse on nose sugar that’s for sure. I’ve also seen a few afl players out after a game and wouldn’t be surprised if they’ve chewed all their gums from the inside of their cheeks off… pretty disturbing to look at no matter who you are.

See Anthony Mcdonald Tipungwuti has put his hand back up. Wants to go to Freo.

Have a friend who works at Essendon who mentioned tippa was going to retire as his heart isn’t in the game and just doesn’t have the worth ethic to train and obviously let himself go abit for football standards..  strange he wants back in

  4. Hoping JVR and disco are regulars next year.

This guy started talking to me about football last night and asked who I went for and told him, said he saw Gawn out running on the tan and had a little chat to him when he was walking. Asked  about Tracs leg, maxy apparently said yeah he was pretty shot and so were many others underdone but they’re all determined to get fixed and ready. He’s hungry than ever to do it all next year and that they really burned watching this years Gf. The fella said you can see it in Maxys eyes he wants another flag bad. Fingers crossed

Not sure it is the time slot that makes a difference!

Comparisons to the 'night' games of 2020 and 2021 figures, aren't really vallid as they both had all Vic teams and Victoria was in lock down with a metro night curfew!

Why are 2022 the lowest of all time:

    • Beautiful spring day, other things to do
    • Two smallish teams with one from interstate
    • Neutral fans didn't care
    • People have gone off football during the covid years

Hopefully, they don't use the unusual circumstances of 2020 and 2021 to change the time slot.

Had about 30 people over and watched the game on one tv.. last year they would have watch it on their own. Probably another reason. People going to pubs and stuff

  6. Before last year, watching grand finals made me jealous and made me picture what id think it be like to be at our home winning one.

This year, watching the parade (although I’m glad we didn’t get that [censored]) and all the build up, seeing celebrations, bbqs and so on made me burn. I was always 50/50 on being satisfied by our club winning but yesterday made me realise I’ll always be happy for the club but I’ll never be a satisfied Melbourne member until I get to enjoy it ALL!

Fingers crossed for a big 2023!!

  7. Turner, JVR and woey id like to see more of next year in the 1s

Preseason games and even round 1 I’d love to try Turner, May and lever down back. Petty and JVR up forward. Woey in Vineys spot and rotate off half forward.
Rather give it a crack preseason and round 1 then get to the last few rounds and we’re too scared to try anything else even though something might not be working anyway

Jackson wants to go, it looked like his game changed for the worse mid season when he decided to.

He will be good for who ever gets him, so long as he is motivated.

For us, we have talls, JVR, Turner, Tmac, Weids as back-up ruck and Tomlinson as general back-up.

What we need is a big bodied, hit the packs hard forward.

Saw today there is rumour of Kysiah looking to go back to SA.

There goes some "X factor", difficult to replace. Though at his stage of development, he found it hard to stay in the game for the 4 quarters. (Not the only player at our club with that problem.)

We have a few trying to be small forwards, but none are quite right.

I'd be looking for a tall Langdon clone, someone who can out-mark his opponent, run two ways, is clean with the ball and makes good decisions.

We need a back-up number one ruck if Max has some time off.

    Draft a 105+ kg forward.

    A 190+ cm mid/winger.

    A 200+ cm ruck

A small who likes a goal and has the "X" factor.

Out; M. Brown, Laurie, Rosman, Baker

Hopefully Howes can fill that wing need at 190

  9. It took Goodwin until the semi final game with 3 mins left to change something and chuck petty up forward..

I’m not at all saying put petty up forward but why wait until now to try something different.
Goodwin doesn’t reward good vfl performances, he’d rather wait 5 weeks until a player finds his mojo again. I’m not a fan of Chris Scott but a player I thought played decent for Geelong gets omitted because to Scott it’s still not good enough.
Back to back is hard I understand that but geez I feel so flat about this year

Kozzie kicked that goal because he was positioned where he should be. this is where he needs to be.

Not jumping for hangers or out further on the 50.

    This.

Brown isn’t marking anything atm, yet we don’t have Kozz or spargo at his feet. We have fritsch and melks who yes do an okay job at it but leave it for them, keep them at browns feet

  11. Smith is having a great game so far, he’s second efforts and forward pressure is something I wish for weids to have.
If he continues to have a great game then he needs to come in next week. We need something different up forward

  12. I was saying to my family last night at the game that you can honestly tell melks and hunt haven’t got a medal. They are playing with everything they have. Urgency and hunger. Everything all the other players had last year. We need more of that to help lift the others. I must say when milkshake came in I’m thinking Jesus this sums up our year but I’m happy to admit he is proving me wrong. Add chandler into our forward line and he will bring exactly that same hunger with forward pressure kozzy and spargo gave us last year.
hopefully fires them up for a big last home and away game!!

    come on you demons!!

  13. Did anyone watch the Casey game? How did Joel smith go?

Last time we played Collingwood cox killed us when the ball got booted inside 50. He doesn’t set the world on fire but I feel we need some talls inside 50 and he doesn’t mind crashing a pack to bring the ball to ground and it’s better that happen in our forward line than our backline. Handy inclusion or nah?
