  1. You do not think players should fear getting dropped, wow.
  2. I do not think you watched the youtube if you think it is just about conformity of making a bed.
  3. To add to what Lewis was getting at... Youtube Inspirational speeches If you want to change the worrld. Start off by making your bed. William Mc Ravey
  4. Gee, he is only a part time footy commentator in a country with three footy codes, what do you want?
  5. I think some of our younger posters are reading it the wrong way. Sellars aint saying go back to the good old days, and I wound understand criticism if he was. Yes, those guys played hard off the field but took no prisoners at training or match day. Even allowing for drinking after training, after a win and pleasant sunday morning barrels those guys were fitter than our guys today. They were fit fit fit. At training they could do 100x 100 sprints with 30 second breaks. Again, sure a different level of fitness but it took hard work and discipline. Their culture was driven internally by the players and the coach was left to do the strategy stuff.
  6. I thought the same thing when reflecting on the posts here. Northey well ahead of the rest, and that playing group were daring and played for each otherm and yes, Danahier bought in fully too.
  7. take it back, I was not aware he just got back. That said that is just being human. No accolades needed.
  8. forget the weekend Bad culture They're soft and don't go hard enough at the contest Lazy and don't work hard enough Bad gameplan Players look lost Players don't want to win enough Coach is out of ideas and has no plan B Not fit enough Players unmotivated or 'not switched on' Every one of these apply to our past two seasons.
  9. hugs at this time of the year are like giving every kid who participated a medal. promote the wrong culture at this time of year.
  10. Port game the previous year. I arrived a bit late, was high up in the stand so scoreboard was a bit hard to read, i mistook the score that we were winning easily. Only the play seemed to indicate we were losing. We were way ahead of ourselves that day and have not recovered since. I have learned that if someone says something you need to look beyond the person and decide very honestly with yourself. is what they say true? if it is you need to take stock. I have disliked what Maclure has said for years about us, but no one has proven him wrong yet. i have met him and reckon he would be one of the first to say, good on them, they ultimately proved me wrong
  11. Thanks a lot Picket. It really is wait and see. Yes to Majak.
  12. They may think they are doing it, as opposed to doing it successfully. Do you think thew Club would need to initiate a leave your egos at the door policy if it was being done well already. As to maclure the commentator, well, each to their own, but the reality is he has been dead right about everything he has said about us, as you say for years.
  13. Mark Maclure saying the culture and success at the Dees needs to be driven by the players. He is the perfect guy to comment as he was a key member of the fantastic Carlton sides of the 80s. Parkin may have coached them but that group played together socialised together and won premierships by being honest with each other, never letting egos get too big and having immense pride in their ability to play big time footy.
  14. We have a very good one in Langdon, two star wingman are feared and win you premierships.
  15. The wing problem has me stumped. I was not a star footballer, so know that at the outset. I mostly played full CHF and it was always tough to get a kick let alone star. However for some reson one day my coach put me on the wing. It was as if playing a totally different game. I think I got two to three times the kicks as CHF with the same ability I had previously. other than getting caught for pace against a racehorse type a good AFL player should be able to play the wing competently. It is in my opinion a lot about positioning and footy smarts. I may be wrong so go for your life if you think what I say is too simple.
  16. Well, the very people who hold power, and whom we are hoping will give us $$$ and support to get a home base. Complete imbeciles.
  17. Remember Vineys injury is/could be an ongoing problem, Brayshaw has no form line, Oliver, yes a star when focused. There are no guarantees.
  18. Thanks Turner, for calling it like it is. The kicking out from full back rings alarm bells for Goodwins inflexible game plan. A big yes to Sparrow Jordan comments. My first assessment of them was big bodied. Hunt is at best a maybe to make it but not the sort MFC can afford to carry. Tmac is now just wing and prayer stuff. Hats off to ANB though.
  19. I am not doubting you BBP on Tomlinsons prelim game but would really need to watch the game to see if he played wing all game in any sort of traditional style. How we fell for him being a winger is an indicment on recruiters and coaches. I have hope for Baker above others. I wonder if some of these blokes need some home truths. Look mate, you are a bloody ordinary footballer unless you do more work in defence. anyone born with speed can run forward in a straight line. Keep it simple and direct. Hit their, I am an AFL player egos.
  20. Saint Joan of the poor introduced pokies. fact. I already said I do not like kennett so I do not need a history lesson in his ugly relationship with Williams. By the by, how is Dan Dollars Andrews and his mate Lindsay . any news on Linday's quarantine, accommodation bid at his airport.
  21. Glad to hear it. Not that I think he is any sort of answer as a forward.
  22. well, get him AFL fit playing in a practice match.
  23. I would add, confused and that comes back to coaching, and game plan.
