  1. Viv looks like Steven Armstrong there lol

NOOOO Don't abuse the kid already haha apart from being in the right place at the right time to win a flag he didn't do anything else. I have high hopes for Viv and I reckon he will show us very early what he is capable of

  2. Even if he fixes his kicking he's still soft and mentally slow. The legs are fast but the footy brain isn't up to AFL standard I dont think. If he was skilled and hard you'd put up with bad decision making but right now he can't kick, doesn't go hard enough and doesn't make good decisions. That's the 3/4 of a bad player. He does have the athleticism to make up the other 1/4 though.

I think that may actually be the reason why he is such a poor kick (well part of it anyway) If you are mentally slow as a footballer you are rushed with disposal more often that not because you try to kick too/handball quickly because of perceived pressure

  3. Why? If he decides to retire after one year what would you say then? If we get 3 years out of him that would be a maximum of 60 games. How many games would you hope to get out of a pick 22, I would suggest a lot more.

I agree he will bring experience and talent and as I said I just put the price on him as too much but ok if Lyons was included. Anyway it is what it is and our list is getting better.

If he retires after one year then I will be more surprised then if we were to win the flag. Won't happen. If we get 60 games out of him that's a win based on our previous drafting. Mature age knows how to find the ball and is basically a direct swap for Sylvia (who was so inconsistent it wasn't funny) I actually don't see how we lose out of this ?

  4. 28 and 10 days too.. Only just out of 27 which if is what he was we'd say is a perfect age for who we're targetting. Ignore age and appreciate the quality he will bring.

Exactly right. He is a proven AFL footballer and we did very well to get him to agree to join us

  5. Cant say im wrapped with an ordinary 28 year old for an early pick

Kicks very well off both feet has good strength knows where the goals are and can actually find the footy... ticks all the boxes for mine. He's 28 not 48 for god sake people on here need to let the age factor go.

  6. Bit of chatter about that Eagles will do the deal with Collingwood for pick 10 & 27, with 6 going the other way. Dom Sheed tipped to be selected by Eagles at 10, with 27 going to Brissy for Yeo.

Not sure if Collingwood have their eyes set on a particular player at 6 or whether it's going to form part of a bigger deal with GWS. Pick 1 perhaps? Might explain why they're pushing hard for pick 2...

I get the feeling Collingwood are going to end up with recruits like us this year.... If I'm being honest Taylor Adams is ok but it's not hard to stand out at GWS. Jesse White is a 5 good game a year footballer and Karnezis is over rated by a lot in my opinion.

  7. Tingles.

    Absolute all star mate.

Anyway back on topic heard. I know you have a fairly close connections with alot of tassie footballers. Any word on Mav Weller?

    Haha thanks mate

Not 100 % sure mate to be honest. Haven't heard much on him apparently we are looking at him but waiting to see who else we can get before we go ahead. From what I heard Hawthorn and StKilda were looking at him. Mitch Thorp from all reports will definitely be re drafted and I think St Kilda/Freo are probably favourites for him.

  8. Mate of mine at the gym said he heard on the radio a three way deal which included Melbourne's pick 2 to Port Adelaide in exchange for Hamish Hartlett and pick 13? Said he heard it on the radio on one of the news stations reporting it. Not sure if he misheard or not but can't find any information regarding this, did anyone happen to catch or hear about this?

I'm actually surprised the Hartlett rumour hasn't come earlier I really rate him and I think he would be a perfect fit for us but no way would he leave port now after the year they had. They are on the up and he would be stupid to jump ship now

  9. If Paul Roos was serious when he talked about players being traded before becoming FA then he needs to take the Frawley deal by the scruff of the neck and tell him to sign it or inform the club he is leaving. None of this see how we go crap .. does he think we will improve in a season ? I have my doubts as good as Roos is. Surely he knows whether or not he wants to sign or leave by now. Especially if the AFL is serious with scrapping compensation picks, we need to get the best for him while we can if he is not going to sign.

  10. Welcome aboard Viv. I am very happy with this get. The thing that makes me like him the most is that he seems to have two things a few of our players don't ... very good vision and also that extra bit of time that some players possess.

  11. If anyone honestly believes that the MFC have not offered one of our best players a new contract then they are kidding themselves. Honestly as if you would not have a decent contract in front of him already. That is terrible business if they have not offered him one. James Frawley would without doubt have a contract there waiting for him to sign and on fair decent coin too. There is no way you would wait until the last year of one of your best players contracts to offer him an extension.

  12. They wouldn't draft him if he was not going to be right. Simple as that. They would have done their due diligence on him and decided he would come in and play. I for one am stoked that we got him.

  13. Im agreeing with you DT, however i do believe next years results with have some sort of impact on his decision. Maybe not so much results but definetely the way the team performs. Otherwise i see no reason why he wouldnt just re-sign now. whats he waiting for??

Yeah that's what I'm worried about. Why is he delaying. I don't think they are holding out money on him, I'm fairly certain that they know how valuable he is to us and length of a contract wouldn't be a problem for him so the delay worries me. So he should just come out one way or another and do what he is telling the rest of the club to do

  14. I've herd this guy is pretty good when not injured but not sure if 3 years is a good idea. Maybe start with 1 then see how his injurys are to prove him self for a contract extension.

He wouldn't bother leaving for a one year deal. Would need to be two minimum

  15. 100% agree DT, lead by example and re-commit to this club. Do not wait for next season and and base your decision on next years results, waiting only leaves yourself open to offers from opposition clubs and will create indecision.

There should be no reason for him to wait a year. He knows it's going to be tough and one season won't change his mind. He needs to speak his mind now and prove he is a real leader and recommit to the cause like he is asking others to do

  16. Yep. We got to make him the offer in terms of $$$ and years that he deserves and then he has to step up and take it and play like it.

Otherwise he becomes the Trav Cloke or BJ Goddard/Buddy Franklin of 2014 and is a distraction we dont need. Not to mention losing him for a compo pick only which potentially is a nice pick but doesn't replace a mature quality full back. Plenty of teams will be interested in him in 2014 and I'd see Gold Coast would lead the charge with a massive offer.

Exactly right. Not only losing him will gut us and set us back a few years but we do not need another year of distractions. He needs to commit or tell the MFC now so we can get something done and truly attack this season with no outside distractions.

  17. Just from the interview with James Frawley on the MFC website.

“As a leader for me, you’ve got to knock [things] on the head early, as soon as you see something, act on it straight away. That’s what I try and do and I’m a pretty passionate guy on the footy field. You’ve got to act on it straight away and giving clear and concise feedback is the best way to do it.

Well knock something on the head here James and re sign at the football club. Act on it straight away so we don't have any more distractions heading into next season. If not tell us now so we can get something for you . We really need to keep him and should do whatever it takes.

  18. Hang on a moment! Am I the only one seeing this? First we have Jay Clarke a reporter who makes stuff up; then we have Mr Clark Kent, a Demonland poster who makes stuff up; and finally, Clark Kent was a reporter for the Daily Planet. Suddenly everything makes sense!!

I don't think you are the only one seeing this
