I took my partner, my kids and a friend to the MCC members in 22 when we narrowly lost. The rancid, humourless abuse we and others copped including “sit down you stupid c..t” delivered to my partner means I’m unlikely to go. Just can’t be bothered, I love friendly banter at the footy but it’s becoming more and more abusive as the years go by. Sheesh, I sound old!

He had an Achilles opp in mid July. He’s going to be busting a gut to get back to top fitness.

You add those 5, fully fit, another preseason under their belts and a top 10 ready to go draft pick and look out, here we come.

It’s a win win game for mine. I want to see 100% effort and if that gets us over the line great, if not I’ll take the pick. Although I’d like us to be in the middle band for next years draw. All the big box clubs are there and they’re the best games for us the supporters and for the club wanting prime time slots. We’re going to enjoy winning the flag next year.

I can’t imagine Adelaide trading out Rachele. Would we take him if the deal could be done? I’d say yes but only after we’ve tried and failed to convince a key forward to join. A King would be great but can’t see how.

Fair enough. I’m in the camp that thinks he’s leaving his options open until it’s clear the big vic clubs can’t put together a deal, then he’ll commit. That may well be hogwash but it’s my vibe and I think it’s incredibly poor form from a guy who’s got 5 years on a contract and is a leader at the club.

I’m pretty sure everyone here loves having Petracca on board but if you want to air your doubts in public be prepared for some backlash. Football is an emotional business and he still hasn’t come out and said he intends to stay. I think it’s understandable for people on a discussion forum to vent their frustrations. Compared to what I hear at the football I’d say we’re mostly a well behaved lot.

Lever could easily be captain or we could get Viney and Sparrow as co captains. Captains Jack Sparrow……I’ll see myself out.

Happy for Jack, likely a year too long but that's the industry currently. I just really hope we don't waste top picks on trades for guys like Houston. We need to keep taking the best available youth or players no older than 25-26.
