If they are really interested in making the fixture fairer why not ensure teams alternate between home and away every second year. why do we have to play Geelong and west coast at their home grounds every year. Makes no sense from a fairness standpoint

Great goal Oskar

bailey smith misses everything from 20 meters. horrendous set shot
-
Langford and Wright are a very good double act.

Petty has been injury prone this year and his form has been patchy. If tommo takes his opportunity this weekend I doubt he’ll get dropped again. You never know how things will play out. Tommo’s injury in 21 opened the door for petty who took his opportunity brilliantly. Who’s to say tommo won’t do the same thing now?

I wish the Matildas the best of luck for the rest of the tournament but tonight I'll be cheering on the girls in green.

We should make him an offer commensurate with his value to us. I don't want to lose him but I think he's worth more to rival clubs where he'll be best 22. He's borderline best 22 for us and is relying on injuries to get regular games. Personally, I think he should go to another club to fulfil his career. He deserves to I reckon.

Sarah black needs to raise her game.

I reckon there's a 5% chance he gets traded this year. A small chance but still a chance.

Brodie is good enough to be a No 1 ruck somewhere else. The plan/experiment as sold to him doesn't appear to be working out. It might yet. There are still 6 H&A games and a finals series to go. He may decide that he is ok playing second fiddle to Max for a couple of seasons. I think all parties entered into this arrangement with the best of intentions. If its not working nobody would blame Brodie for asking for a trade. As a club we have a proven track record of treating players fairly. I reckon we would accommodate his request. We'll come up with an alternative plan for Maxy's successor.

footy fans are very ungrateful

Caulfield is the solution for us. Ticks all the boxes. As long as we satisfy the community use conditions there is no reason why we can't make this work. I hope Kate Roffey is working overtime on this.

Rugby League is the most boring game on the planet. 5 tackles. kick. 5 tackles. kick. I'd rather watch paint drying.

Death Riding Fremantle 2023 - Feathered Cap Edition
BDA replied to adonski's topic in Melbourne Demons
Early in the season plenty more posters said hawthorn were tanking to get Harley Reid. They’ve won 5 games. They have been having a crack every match (notwithstanding they’ve copped some beatings along the way which are par for the course for young developing teams). I’m not sure they would rather lose than end up with pick 4. I think Mitchell is telling his team to go out and have a go and let the cards fall where they may. I think this is the right approach from a cultural perspective. -
He's great back-up for Max this year. Let's face it. It's highly unlikely Grundy will become a serviceable KPF. Next season and perhaps the season after he'll have to accept fewer playing minutes as back-up to Max. This may not be what he wants to do. And it may not suit us either. We're paying $650k (reporting) for a back-up ruckman. Thats a lot of coin that could be deployed elsewhere. He would be perfect for Port so I don't think a trade is impossible. It might actually be the best for all concerned depending on what we can get in the deal (2nd round pick or a Port player?)

Death riding is great fun chook. You should give it a go. It's wonderful watching a team fail knowing the greater the failure the greater the benefit to us. And its extra satisfying if you're petty and mean spirited like I am. -
Works well in the NFL because a small number of teams qualify for the playoffs. You need a very good W L record to secure a wildcard spot. Playing finals after winning 10 games would demean the competition.
-
There's a gulf between the top and bottom teams. We're much better off playing the better teams. Those with soft draws will be found out come finals. First time playing Geelong in the ALFW and would you have guessed; it'll be at taxpayer funded park. Haven't we seen enough of that [censored] pile. Great first up game against the pies. I'll for sure get along to that one. Really looking forward to the season. Pretty confident we can go back-to-back given the players Brisbane and Adelaide have lost to the expansion teams.

It’s a long shot I know but I’m daring to dream. -

Hawks doing their bit for the death ride. I would love it if they managed to overtake Freo and delivered us pick 3. -
sacrilege OD. sacrilege

They can’t win at the G. 14 losses in last 15 attempts. Can’t even beat hawthorn. They have a 1000 pound gorilla on their back and until they actually win a game there I doubt too many people will have them as favourites.

Grand old flag is far and away the best theme song in the league. Obviously. Tigerland not bad and I don’t mind the Crows song. other than those I don’t care much for the rest of them.
-
Nothing you can do about hateful social media comments. Best thing is to stay away from Insta, twitter and all the rest of them until your career is finished. the Weid is a decent back up player. Can cover injuries in the ruck and forward. He is not best 22 for any club in the league. That’s clear at this stage. I hope things work out for him. He’s a decent lad by all accounts.
-
We'll beat the Crows without too much fuss next week. their away record is very shabby.
