  1. IN: Brown OUT: Weid Would love Weid to get more of a run, but think TMac had him (just) covered in last night's game. Kicked a goal, had more meters gained, it's not much, but that combined with not having to move roles around with Brown coming in probably means that's what Goody will go with IMO. Can't see Smith coming straight back in given Brown didn't. Know the timing is slightly different but if match committee have decided missing a week of training means missing the game then that logic probably prevails again. That means Hunt is likely safe but wouldn't be against dropping him pending performances at Casey.
  2. Can't help think the judgment might have been different had Weid played poorly.
  3. Where would he have trained? He couldn't leave the house. Could even be the preparation of flying up on the day of the game. Perhaps match committee just decided that the whole big picture added up to not ideal preparation. Just providing the info from the club around it.
  4. Injury report from Tuesday said he'd be available, so you'd assume not COVID affected. Goody's presser earlier in the week he said they'd weigh up whether he should come in after a week without training, so reasonably safe to assume that's the reason.
  5. Wasn't sure where to put this, but cracking content from the Dockers... (Click through to comments)
  6. No, he actually is on peanuts at the moment. His contract was adjusted when he extended.
  7. @picket fence
  8. Here's a summary... TJ: The Dees played the Bombers.... Browny: You've got big teeth TJ All: Hahahaha Lloyd: Yeah but you love a mirror Browny All: Hahahaha Barrett: Heard a whisper that Kane Cornes cried after the showdown All: Hahahaha Cornes: Settle down Purple All: Oooooooooohhhhh TJ: Anyway, the Dees won by 29 Browny: About the same number as your teeth size in inches chompers All: Hahahaha Just change the opponent and margin for next week's comprehensive football discussion.
  9. You guys sure do like to call games a bit early for followers of a team that made a Grand Final do a 180 in about a minutes worth of footy...
  10. I think you're missing the following points: - Draft picks are not guaranteed to succeed - Jackson is a completely unique player - Bringing in two 18 year olds to fill the gap left by Jackson does not suit our list demographic. Our window is now. But alright digger, let's leave it.
  11. No I haven't. I finished my post mentioning how unique Jackson is as a player. What player are you suggesting we could trade in that could do the things he does? We don't automatically win anything. We have a top 10 pick playing tonight who is probably lucky to still be on our list. Perhaps go and watch the grand final again and tell me how we would have gone with 2 18 year old kids playing instead of Jackson.
  12. Don't totally agree. Let's say he leaves and we get two top 10 picks - There's no guarantee they turn out great, and there's even less chance they can make an instant impact. That means we'd have all of Gawn, May, Brown and TMac entering the twilight of their careers with an even younger list, as well as players like Trac, Oliver, Viney, Langdon, Lever, Salem etc who are in their peak and we need to be making the most of. While we may get back 'equal value' from a draft pick perspective, it does have a big effect on the overall picture IMO. All that aside from us losing a one of a kind player.
  13. Maybe they'll show him calling them in tears after he debuts as sub and doesn't get on the ground....?
  14. Yeah definitely hear what you're saying re cap squeeze, and we may very well see a favourite or two depart due to it, I just really rate Spargo in terms of how his particular skills fit within our overall mix. Might not get huge numbers, but his pressure and delivery forward are massive for us I reckon, and I think we lose out a lot if Chandler or Bedford (who I both also like) replace him. Me personally, I'd prefer to lose someone like Harmes or Hunt than Spargo. I think they're more replaceable.
  15. Another step for Kate towards her future political aspirations.
  16. TMac already took a massive cut.
  17. I don't see Beford and Chandler as similar to Spargs tbh, massive difference in the quality of decision making and score involvement impact IMO. Laurie we'll have to wait and see, by all reports he could become a very good kick for us, but he's yet to play a game. Spargo has played 61 games since 2018. Bedford and Chandler have a combined total of 5 games. I reckon that tells you if Spargo could be replaced by either of them.
  18. 'Me and my shadow....' #RentFree
  19. Absolutely, fair point too!
  20. I agree with a lot of what you're saying, but I don't think any of us can make assumptions based on what is said publicly, we all know how much that means in the wash up. I think he'll probably stay, but I reckon there's a fair bit of self-convincing going on in this thread based on no real evidence.
  21. Tim Kelly went alright before going home, and you could even talk about Hogan never finding form again after going home.
