  1. Well there you have it. Hogan named Rising Star (ahead of Cripps) for 2015.
  2. Same people likely bag Oliver for getting rid of it too quickly...
  3. Just putting it out there as an option. Currently out of contract, Eagles offering a 1 year extension but nothing close to being formalized yet. Would we consider tempting him over with a 2 year deal, potentially with a coaching offer post-retirement? There's other options ahead of him of course, but would be a relatively cheap option that would cover us while Weid and Jacko develop further. Bit like the Lewis trade in a way.
  4. Hmmmm..... Robbie D’Orazio. 2 years to go on contract. Huge contract offer. Petracca?
  5. Would guess they're all going separate ways now maybe? Some are already back, but others may have stayed for a break or gone somewhere else for one.
  6. Hard to gauge anything from the Bluey I reckon. Looked like a super low key, casual, quick event and it was apparently held on Tuesday, so would have been the day some blokes were delisted and possibly some coaches fired, on top of missing finals. Plus, with TMac in the room sans MFC polo and the Bennell situation, would have been awkward in there I think.
  7. Haha didn't wanna stress anyone out! I heard it was immediately shut down so didn't think it was worth mentioning.
  8. Cool story mate.
  9. Didn't think it was worth mentioning tbh. I messaged it to another Demonland poster a few hours ago though actually.
  10. Multiple threads, but will put it here too: Carlton made an approach to Melbourne about Oliver, it was obviously not even considered. The 'unhappy' part I think might be made up.
  11. Carlton made enquiries to Melbourne about him. He's not going anywhere though.
  12. Melbourne mate
  13. Haha come on mate. Did you ignore 10 and 13?
  14. Word is, 5 year deal, locked in.
  15. Could be a tie? Max and May, then Trac 1st?
  16. Few people are saying this was actually held last night as the players left the hub this morning. Truth or BS?
  17. Not a ton of them there. Looks like a pretty small, informal night. Plus, the on-stage mic wouldn't pick up much of the applause. Also, bloody love Mayzie.
  18. We have nailed the art of the lifeless corporate speak as a club. From the top down.
  19. Selections from an article in the Herald Sun... The Demons have shown some interest but are unlikely to part with more than a late draft pick to nab the speedster. Melbourne is also not prepared to overpay for Polec who signed a bumper deal to move from Port Adelaide to North Melbourne at the end of 2018. Melbourne is in the market for some more speed and polish to complement its hard nut midfield brigade as Simon Goodwin’s men attempt to break back into the top-eight next season. Polec could help improve the Demons’ delivery and finishing skills in the forward half of the ground but Melbourne haven’t made any promises to him. It means that while Polec is on the Dees’ radar, he is not seen as a must-have in the November exchange period. The Demons are likely to try and meet with Polec and establish his intentions for next season and seek feedback on where things broke down at North Melbourne.
  20. Did he really just say 'the learnings we've learnt....'?
  21. Maybe I'm a classic Melbourne supporter, but hearing him mention Melbourne as part of it actually made me MORE interested in what was going on...
  22. Both have seemed like really hard workers and well liked teammates. Feel like it might be more these 'middle of the road' players that pay the price more for the list reductions. IMO priorities will be stars and then cheap backups.
  23. Watson on SEN: Speaking on SEN Breakfast, Watson was confident that Merrett would be a Bomber next year. “I got a call yesterday in the afternoon that concerned me a little bit, but I’ve been assured that he’s not going anywhere, he’ll be staying at Essendon, he does have a contract of course,” he said. “People read into this, the fact that he got left out of the leadership group and maybe he’s still unhappy there at Essendon, but I was told categorically that he would not be going anywhere. “There has been some scuttlebutt out there that he might want to go to Melbourne or Melbourne is really interested in him and he’s got a great mate in him in Michael Hibberd and obviously he was coached by Simon Goodwin as well, but that’s not going to be the case as it was put to me yesterday.”
  24. I thought it was great. Well made, good insights, and absolutely wasn't trying to sell some kind of comeback story. But then, I actually watched it so what would I know...
  25. @deanox found it! We're 17th for tackle differential. Can't find a stoppage per game number anywhere there, which would be interesting in the context of what you brought up.
