  1. Thought Hunt was poor against the Swans as well, but you're right, it's not 3 games in a row. 2 out of 3 though, and all I said was that he needed to lift. As mentioned, same with Spargo, I don't think either will be dropped this week, all I said is they may be discussed as players needing to lift. Personally I don't think any player is "locked in". Everyone has their tipping point of form where their spot may be at risk, that's the whole point of competition for spots isn't it? Bedford and Chandler have both been pushing, neither I rate as highly as Spargo, but you pick your team based on form, otherwise B.Brown would be a lock and not at Casey hey?
  2. Not for mine, not without training there and playing some VFL there first, and can't see that happening at this point. Think that 3rd spot will be out of Petty, Daw and potentially Bradtke given they've started playing him there. Joel Smith possibly, but he's still a month away. Other option is they re-structure the backline and play someone like Hibberd or Jetta as the 3rd 'tall' and have Max drifting back more often I guess.
  3. Yep, although maybe not as much for that particular role for us. That would be the query though for sure. I don't think it's likely he comes in, only if Petty has a shocker and Maj has a ripper. The midseason draft is where my intrigue is piqued atm.
  4. I'm talking about the possibility of Majak coming in for Petty, so he wouldn't have to worry about quick defenders. Also, I don't reckon either Tomlinson or Petty are quick either anyway.
  5. I love Spargo, think he gets underrated by Dees fans in general, but reckon he's not had much impact the last few weeks. Blues game I thought he was pretty good, but Crows game he didn't apply enough pressure to make up for his lack of scoreboard impact in terms of score involvements. Same against the Swans. "Perfect form" is a ridiculous call mate, and as far as doing what the coaches ask; I think we'd agree that would be forward pressure and score involvements yes? Been down on both in a few games over the last month. So we agree Hunt had a poor game then? So, he needs to find form again right? So we agree. Excellent. If you read my original comment I didn't suggest either would be dropped this week, just they IMO they will come up in discussions as players who need to lift.
  6. I think if Petty has a poor one it may force the clubs hand. Could be Majak, pending his game on the weekend coming, can't see TMac going back unless he completely loses form. Then of course there's the midseason draft or even a rejig of the backline if the Dogs open us up like the Crows did.
  7. Fritta needs a rocket, Spargo and Hunt just need to find form, Petty needs confidence; so either back at VFL level or continuity, although the disclaimer on that is I think he'll only get another week of that without lifting. Can't imagine any half decent footy club bringing in Ben Brown after 4 touches and 0 goals at the lower level.
  8. Agree mate. I'm not trying to put pressure on Petty, I think he's gonna be ok for us and I like the hardness he's developing. Just seems to get super nervous when kicking, but that will get better over time I reckon. May had a Barry Crocker on Saturday, Lever was a bit up and down - he was clearly effected by the crowd. Gee we missed Salo a lot. Hunt would be one the blokes who wouldn't want another poor one this week, not by himself there. It felt like the flat week that had been coming for a while. They'd teased it for a few games beforehand.
  9. 5 disposals, 2 turnovers, 2 clangers.
  10. You might be right, I just assumed that it was about possessions so don't take it as gospel.
  11. Doesn't the heat map measure where the player collects disposals? That's what I always thought, but not 100% on it. If so, would make sense why he has no heat spots given he had no touches. The defensive half % wouldn't mean much with no possessions either.
  12. Yep, his ball use has been atrocious since coming in. I like him, he has a bit of mongrel, but he'd want to tidy up a bit if he plans on staying in longer than this week IMO. As mentioned, he and Hunt I think will both stay in for now.
  13. Sure, or next time he might kick 6 out on the full. You go by existing form not 'best case scenario' form.
  14. Didn't he kick like 1.5 today? Can't see that winning over the coach of a team who kicked poorly for goal...
  15. Not necessarily. Bringing in Sparrow into the mix means Harmes, Petracca or Oliver can go forward more often, OR you could just have Sparrow playing as a forward. It's not set in stone there's no flexibility in roles players are asked to play. Having Sparrow instead of Melksham as a forward gives us more pressure and intent in that part of the ground, something we've been missing for a couple of weeks.
  16. Well, Ben Brown won't be coming in.... OUT: Jetta, Melksham IN: Salem, Viney (if they're not ready, swap for Lockhart and Sparrow) Fritsch better get a rocket this week.
  17. So is TMac, so is Fritsch...
  18. Fritsch has form?
  19. Maybe. They don't have a massively different accuracy % over their careers though. 63.5% for Weid, 67.4 for Brown.
  20. Weid took the same amount of marks as TMac and more than Fritsch. It's not about 'silver service' it's about not just bombing it blindly. it hurt all of our marking forwards. For some reason Weid has become the new whipping boy it seems.
  21. Having scans today but the expectation is he will miss a few weeks. English likely to be back for the Dogs though.
  22. Three times this year we've gone on quick scoring runs when Max was on the bench. I thought last night it was a mistake he came back into the ruck after only a couple of minutes, in which we kicked multiple goals, and sure enough the Crows then kicked 3 and won. Obviously I'm not blaming Max for the loss or saying he's not a great player, but that was poor coaching IMO as we were clearly on a run and the coaches changed the setup.
  23. None of our forwards were able to capitalise on our 'midfield dominance' yesterday. Hardly think singling out Weid is fair. Go back and look at the disgraceful delivery forward.
  24. Related question: Did our 'good guy' mentally cost us that free kick? Not enough of our players 'appealed' for the deliberate decision. ANB half heartedly put his hands up, no one else did anything. If a few of them had, even if ANB or Jacko had started to lineup like he was expecting the decision, it potentially could have tipped the balance in the umpires eyes. We were poor. Absolutely 0 pressure until after half time. A fair few blokes should be hanging their heads. Crows 100% deserved to win. Doesn't mean we can't talk about yet another decision/non-decision that has decided the outcome of a game though. Staggering we still have part timers officiating a billion dollar game.
  25. I love Spargo but thought he struggled to have any impact today. 8 touches with 4 clangers and a turnover would put him in the conversation this week IMO. Doesn't mean he gets dropped, but his name will come up. And as I said, Hunt and Petty will likely stay due to credits in the bank and necessity.
