To state the obvious, the reason for drafting a player in the mid-season draft is to have that player available for the rest of the year. I wonder when the club would feel Dunkley is ready to play. What would he need to do first? Get fitter? Understand the game plan? Would he be ready immediately?

I hope he understands the game plan.

    Many others obviously don't.

So true.  It felt like we really regressed, and I bet our numbers will show this.  We were poor by hand and foot, struggled to take a contested mark, and showed no defensive system that connected to anything forward of the ball.   Complete turn around from the Eagles game. Without Max in the first half, and Viney willing himself to every contest in the second and third, we would have been smashed - worse than we were.  Nothing learned, nothing executed.

That is what disturbs me most of all. The same problems  displayed in every game.

The players are not learning anything nor are the coaches able to address and  impact the problems.

There is more to this perhaps than we are being told. Its incomprehensible that we haven't improved over the season. Anyway there is no longer an imperative  to win games  in my view. I would like to see them coached and play to a game plan that suits our talent and hopefully we are ready next season.

I  also wouldn't be bothered bringing anyone back too soon, just no point. Another wasted season Ho Humm.

Shows me the team is not working hard enough. Lloyd and Brown have both said it recently

  4. It looked to me at the ground that we went more man on man in the last quarter

    any body else notice that?

Also why are we playing Brayshaw and Fritich out of position every week?

Will love it when Gus is in the middle ,Jones in the grandstand , Fritich at half forward and Frost and Hunt on the wings.

23000 souls at a soulless game.

Smother the balls with vaseline at training all week. This is the humid of the NT games right?

Not sure what Smothering ones balls with Vaseline would do to assist footy performance . But there you go you learn many things on Demonland

Once a week for how long i wonder wrecka?  Whatever they are doing together it's working a treat.

The Eagles never having a negative differential in the last 15 years from 2003.  Noting that no other club in that decade and a half has had a postive differential every year like the Coasters.  That's 64% more frees than any other club in that time and a massive 1000% +  more than us.

Amazing result.  Margetts started umpiring in 2002.  Any chance we could get him on board before he retires?

Whats Sydney done to the umpiring fraternity?

Its Unbelievable. Dees have nothing to complain about in comparison.

Having predicted the Hawks and GCS win I'm prepared to stick my neck out again and say we can win this!!

In 2017 we went there with injuries to a lot of key players and a few underdone (eg Gawn and Viney).  Below is our winning 2017 team showing a replacement for those now missing.  Jetta is the one I couldn't find someone to replace him.

And, we are much better than the exhausted team that played in the Prelim!

My prediction:  A repeat of the 2017 game where we win by 3 pts after a miracle goal from T.Mac in the dying moments of the game.  Go Dees!

    Yep

Have a good feeling about this game for some reason.

    Come on Dees.

185cm ish forward, so could fill the missing small forward role until Bedford or Chandler develop.  May have to learn our systems etc, but you would expect a fairly fast path when we have 5 players available for selection outside the 22 atm.

Please do not teach this kid our systems if we get him!!!!

It will end his career. Looks like a natural footballer to me and know how to play forward,

TMac can’t move any faster than a jog and he can’t get off the ground, he’d be a liability in defence.

He is moving very slowly and looks stiff cannot buy a mark this year

He is a major part of our forward problems  and  as you say will be a liability down back
