PODCAST: Rd 21 vs North Melbourne
Another cracking poddie last week guys. Seems we've learned some learnings from 2022 and rested the bulls and Max in the last with them all spending about the last 8 to 10 minutes on the bench. I was pretty happy with that despite the fact that it could cost Trac a Brownlow vote or two. Thoughts?

PODCAST: Rd 20 vs Richmond
Jack Viney has been sublime in the past month, in fact, since Clarry has been absent. Possibly his best block of footy he has played at the club. He has been instrumental in willing us to win with his never say die Demon Spirit. He would have to at the very least be a consideration for the All Australian Squad. Very underrated in the wider AFL community, media and supporters.

PODCAST: Rd 18 vs Brisbane
What a Herculean effort from Max Gawn!!! I read that it was the highest ranked game of his career. 29 Disposals, 21 Contested, 39 Hitouts, 17 Hitouts to Advantage, 10 Clearances, 7 Tackles & 1 Goal. It can’t be a coincidence that this return to form coincided with Brodie Grundy‘s axing. Can I get the panels thoughts on the dropping of Brodie Grundy and what that means for him in 2023 and also if Max is to go solo for a few weeks how do we manage it in terms of Max’s career longevity? I don’t want to burn Rooey out by playing him 2nd ruck so early in his career.

PODCAST: Mid Season Review 2023
Wondering who the panel thinks will be our biggest threats for the Flag this year? It's looking likely that the Pies, Port and Brisbane will be Top 4 given the Pies current record and Port and Brissy's home ground advantages. Are any of the teams currently (at time of writing) in the bottom part of the 8 a threat for our Flag (yes OUR FLAG) currently Saints, Bombers, Adelaide and Dogs? What about the Teams currently sitting outside the 8? Currently Cats, Dockers, Suns and perhaps the Tigers. Any concerns for those sides? Excellent Podcasts as always fellas. Keep punching them out. Go Demons.

Can we please give Jack Viney the credit that he so richly deserves? He is heart and soul, is at the bottom of every pack, throws his weight around, is a monster tackler, can extract the ball and get the clearances. Just pure guts and determination. His blind turn was just sublime. He was simply immense in this match and often flies under the Petracca/Oliver radar. We are so blessed to have him and this midfield surely is amongst one of the best in the modern era. We now just need to add some more silverware to the cabinet to ensure that their names are etched into immortality.

Fantastic podcast the last few weeks guys. Keep up the hard work. The effort is very much appreciated by this overseas fan. After watching every single game on the Watch AFL app I was fortunate enough to travel back home last week and got to see the Dees in person for the first time in nearly 4 years. A couple of things I noticed about our wingers. Hunter is very physical. A number of times when he was corralling a player who would then give off a handball he always made sure to give them a nice bump just to let them know he was there. I like this type of physicality. It's not thuggish and let's the opponent know psychologically that there are no cheap handballs. You have to earn it. Because I was sitting behind the goals I noticed that Ed Langdon would often be the extra player dropping back into defence and because of his pace and endurance would often get back there before some of the defences joining our sweeper (usually May) to set up before everyone got back making sure he could cover any errant opposition forward that got loose. I've seen both Hunter and Langdon get criticism this year for being off their games but I think we are playing our wingers differently this season now that we have two genuine wingman. Hunter playing offensively on his wing and Langers playing more defensively on his wing. What are the panel's thoughts?

I wish you could mute the commentary and just listen to the sounds of the game/crowd. Fox commentary is terrible.

I think there is a feeling that we will just rock up and roll the Suns but I think this could be a danger game if we don't come switched on to play. The Suns have taken it right up to a few teams and have fallen away in the last quarter. Miller is a massive out for them but we should not take them too lightly. What do you guys think we need to do to bank the 4 points.

Thank you guys for the podcast. It's a must listen every week. Love the analysis from all 3 hosts. You all have a different style, approach and opinion and your love of the game and the club shines through. You raise the bar each week in terms of quality and content. I really appreciate the effort you go to so thank you. How immense was JVR's last quarter. To be honest, at 3 quarter time I thought he would be heading back to Casey next week with only the 4 possessions to his name. But that last quarter. WOW. 4 kicks, 3 massive contested marks, 3 goals. All on the big stage. Imagine when he puts 4 quarters of that together. He is going to be huge. Love the podcast.

We are coming up against the Eagles this week who are riddled with injuries. Cripps (broken ankle), McGovern (Hamstring), Shuey (Hamstring), Witherden (Concussion), Ryan (Knee) could join Nic Nat (Ankle) & Yeo (Calf) on a star studded injury list. Are any of you worried about us taking this match lightly or is that ghosts of Demons past talking?

PODCAST: Practice Match vs Richmond
Clearly the Gawn/Grundy pairing is working so far in particular with their forays up forward in both practice matches (3 goals between them in the Match sim and 6 goals between them in the Praccy Match). In addition having the presence of one of them a kick behind the play whilst the other one is resting forward is a bonus as it is a strong marking presence down the line if the opposition gets the ball out of our forward line. Demonland poster @old55 posted the following Hit Out statistics from this match in the Post Game thread and I thought that it would be interesting to hear @binman's take on this. Hitouts: Richmond 37 Melbourne 24 Nankervis 24, Soldo 13, Gawn 12, Grundy 11, TMac 1. Clearances: Richmond 33 Melbourne 32 Centre Clearances: Richmond 18 Melbourne 11 Stoppage Clearances: Richmond 15 Melbourne 21
