Buckley is by no means a sure thing and if that doesn't eventuate then we need to be prepared and do our due diligence on the next best available candidate (which we should be doing anyway).

I don't know why everyone is so quick to think signing Bucks is a forgone conclusion. My mail is that is that he was keen and would need to be sold. This panel might also be a panel to convince him as well as sound out some assistants and if Bucks falls through then pick the best of the rest.

I was sad when the news first broke because Goody will always hold a special place in my heart. BUT .... it was time .... and with each passing day my mood has picked up. The club is bigger than the individual and we will shortly have a new coach to get behind. Onwards and upwards.

Is this new information or private intel? Or is it based on the 5 hour board meeting with the word filtering out that Voss will remain the coach for now? If it is the latter then I took that as we'll reassess at years end but in the meantime we will privately do our due diligence and speak with prospective coaches. IMHO they are most definitely still on the prowl for their next coach.

I thought Rivers had a really poor game. I don't want to throw the baby out with the bathwater on the back of one poor practice match but with a full compliment in the middle with Trac, Clarry and Jack with cameos from Kozzy and Langers and eventually Langford, I would like to see Rivers go back into defence as I think he would be better run and carrying and distributing out of defence like Houston from Port/Collingwood. What do you guys think?

So good to have the podcast back for another season. I thought Kozzy had a solid game against North and I was super impressed with the ferocity of his tackling in the Indigenous All Stars game. We are sorely going to miss his now extended cameos in the guts as well as his offensive and defensive output in the forward 50. How are we going to cover for him in the first 3 rounds?

If Trac wants out completely then that’s fine. Well not fine but whatever. If he truly wants out then he has to go to the club that gets the MFC the best deal. He signed a 7 year deal and has 5 remaining. We need to be fairly compensated.

I don’t get the impression that Trac wants mediation or to mend the relationship or even for the MFC to improve whatever aspects he’s unhappy with. I think he wants out completely and no amount of sorrys or improvements that happen in the future do not matter to him because he will be at his preferred destination.

If someone in a leadership position within an organisation were to be questioned about their organisation and responded with the same level of unpreparedness and lack of understanding about the most critical issue facing their organisation as what I have just witnessed, they would be immediately dismissed. It is not just one issue they are responsible for; they are at the top of the chain and accountable for overseeing all major aspects of the organization. Such poor answers to the line of questioning today would be unacceptable in any professional setting, and the consequences would be swift and severe. God, I really hope Trac wasn't listening. If he was, he might already have his bags packed, or he’ll be rushing to do so any minute now. And he won’t be the only one, others on the team will probably be digging through their cupboards, reaching for their suitcases on the high shelf, and considering their options.
