Outcomes of Season Review
That's a long bow Demonsome, blaming one function primarily for a poor season. Its much more likely( I think ) the later pre season start, and during season some fitness issues plus lack of rotation of players ( when come came back either too early without VFL grounding) also an inability to train at full pace reducing in not running games out in the latter half if the season. Not making changes giving VFL players rewards for performance also hindered our fitness issues and lack of any players generally making the AFL team. All that should change this season hopefully in hindsight and sensibility.

AFLW: Finals Week 02
Will be a sellout 9/10 Tigers allowed in!!!

AFLW: S7 Average Home Crowd
Agree KITP princes Park ( Ikon) is on a tram line direct from Eliz St and Flinders St. What more Do you want ? Yes Cwood and Tigers crowd would be doubled or say 6,000 total at least at Ikon. Punt Rd or Arden St would have not been able to have any more than 3,000 as that is their limit. Vic Park about 5,000. (4700 vs Fogs sellout) Those that were there were very loud and passionate and don't complain about the standard Bris and Tigers was the same great pressure all game. Thsts why the Dees ( and Lions) are the best teams as they can handle pressure and still score. It's not an exhibition match when the top 4 meet each other!!

Welcome to Demonland Matthew Jefferson
Yes Docs some D/Lers have got very short memories OR selective choice overruling the JT record for recruitment. Yes Weid was not tick but Jesse was largely successful. JVR is being willed as our next best forward yet JT can't be trusted to select the next best option available!! Strange bedfellows some D/Lers. Of course we are all experts and we want a finished product hot off the draft ! No Casey training and improvement or Choco kicking school. Must just about kill his opposition and kick 55m both feet . Oh and no West Australians please they miss the family dog too much. Again JT we trust in the draft and often up trading in selections for our benefit.

Tmac is the glue which makes our forward line tick between the talls and smalls.

2022 Player Reviews: #10 Angus Brayshaw
Best year yet I think in team value and still can be a better best version of himself. Always a team man Angus always seems to knit together a defence or centreline. Hope he can do the forward line next year!

AFLW: QF vs Adelaide
2,555. Very passionate support came through on screen and sound right into my Brisbane living room. Very proud of the support last night and our AFLW Membership record. Lets see if we can beat the membership record in crowd numbers for the Prelim even if we play an interstate team. BTW just as proud of the team and their footy and team spirit and support of each other. They clearly play as a team and for Mick Stinear who is clearly coaching at the top of his game. Absolutely remind me of our 2021 Men's heroes this season the way they have improved since the Lions beat us earlier in the season. Go Dees.

JVR Extends to 2025
No worries DJR I can still drool!! Rosman drools I did prior to his 2021 VFL games were over the top but still would have kept him this year as a rookie just in case. But injury was not kind also to Fraser. Howes might be another drool pre season or during this year let's hope he earns it!

AFLW: QF vs Adelaide
We are playing at a different level than 2021. Every player ( like our 2021 Men's flag team all are involved ) Defence improved markedly since opening round and final mids and attack look perpetually ready to score quickly in a rush of goals. Handball game is at its best and a game changer vs any other team. Only snag can be our rushed attempt at goal scoring and usually it rights itself by games end.

AFL Delisted Free Agency Period
Fair enough then prob no. He is a ruck rover.

JVR Extends to 2025
The difference here DJR is we have a very public insight to JVR one year down the track with all the boxes I have mentioned ticked in one of the most competitive competitions below the AFL. I didn't relate the role playing in the last para very well but was trying to say that JVR would play his role ( whether he kicks 10 or 35 goals in 2023 ) as he has many ticked boxes and not just one way he can get you as a high expectant performer in the AFL. His first season was in many ways comparable to Jesse Hogan when he played VFL prior to his AFL debut. A couple of plusses here is his he doesn't have to be a saviour as we have climbed Everest but are returning going up a different face! Also he clearly plays with much less on his mind than what Jesse did over his half decade and kicks better in style and is a more rounded player IMO than Jesse at his age although strength will be need to be added to his frame this preseason. Another plus is the fact that Jesse Jacko and Jacob are all from WA and the former two both made it with similar expectations so IMO I have given the glimpse (a season of experience in the system) we have so far backed in JVR with such a solid base of ticked boxes. You didn't disagree with any specific points but mostly maybe with the end product predicted. Let me say I really think of Gunstan from the Hawks but just as easily he may be a Charlie Curmow or a RF version of Jeremy Cameron. Or he could be a Sam Weid or Josh Schache but I'll go with Gunstan with a touch more style and excitement. Over the top no, realistic yes oh and if he disappoints forward he can replace Petty in defence and play side by side with Disco and our other 2/3 champs defending the goals. Please don't get me started how well he has gone in his Footy career so far in defence in the top echelon of Junior and just under AFL competitions in State and National standing. Some more boxes ticked but no pressure JVR!! About Brodie I haven't said he will fail what I have cautioned is his immediate impact due mainly to injury and missing 3/4 of last season and also getting used to our game style and what's expected of him. By July/ August I'll expect both JVR and Brodie to be vital and very useful players in our game style and results and add an extra depth and improvement to our 2022 team possibly enough to bridge the gap Geelong has on us and the rest of the AFL teams at the end if 2022.

JVR Extends to 2025
Again "Rooey" signing on so soon after our beneficial trade period is a great plus. Amid all the hype there are a number of very salient factors about this young footballer. 1. He is serious about a career in the Red and Blue, the 2 extra years says that. 2. So far he has as far as we know been in less than 12 months a model recruit with no fuss bravado or ego to overtake his learning and developing lessons. 3. JVR does far more than kick goals. He has some very useful football traits and tricks to add to his determination and attitude and aggression. 4. Marking is only one highlight but his 2nd and 3rd efforts, tap ons handballs and tackling are all part of his package, more like the fashion of a midfielder. 5. Two things other D/Lers have highlighted are that he hasn't played A GAME YET ( and why not? ) and a likeness to our previous potentially ( till he suffered countless ACL knee reconstructions ) that restricted him to a shadow of his former glory and not as the potential equal of Wayne Carey on the field! 6. I don't care about either of the above two opinions as it has no bearing on JVR and how good he is or how we are handling his development. 7. He will make it despite any of the hype from us if he is good enough for all the right reasons he appears to have to succeed. 8. Jacob is also a well performed ( in Colts and WAFL and ANC Under Age) ) as a key defender at Full Back so he is versatile as well. 9. Thankfully No one has posted He's only 192cms (or is it 194 or above now? only 195 plus succeed these days in KFP or KDF ) which as we know is rubbish. Give me a well rounded 194 cm KPP rather than a gangly 200cm Who can be pushed out of position or hasn't got great other skills than marking! 10. Lastly JVR will hit the gym like never before and a boy will become a man before our eyes ready to take on the world. Not just perform a role on our forward line to finish off a puzzle that might just be with other 2023 improvements the catalyst to our expected sustained success over the next 3/4/5 years. No PressureJVR!! 11. Let's hope injury and luck treat JVR fairly for our future footy watching enjoyment and aspirations.

JVR Extends to 2025
BTW that's a "reset " to make one lick their lips in enthusiasm and football entertainment. Our forwardline could quickly become our greatest strength. Any one of Tmac BBB Kossie Fritta Kade Chandler ANB Spargs and our resting rucks plus premiership quality mids running around with Lingers and Lachie H driving the ball in, oh and Salo and Bowser with perfect passing that MCG scoreboard should not be idle for very long times IF Goody and the forward Coach get a good plan together. Bring on 2023 !!!!

Great news for JVR well earned and for our future. Can't wait till Round 1 2023 ( hope it's vs Pies) with Brodie Lachie H JVR forward and Disco back plus Harry Petts on the forward line.- JVR Extends to 2025
But Jacko's was ONLY ONE YEAR THEN and I started to worry why? Reckon He was not fully on board like Riv and Kossie who both took 2 years! He was never going to be a 5 year plus player. Wonder how many flags we can win more than Freo in the next 7:8 years??- 2023 Free Agents
If we look like losing Kissie we should go after Dylan Moore of The Hawks. Small crumbing forward with speed.- 2022 Player Reviews: #31 Bayley Fritsch
Another great year Fritta Keep up the good work as the cavalry are coming to help out, Petts and JVR!!!- AFLW: S7 Average Home Crowd
To be fair both the Dees Port and Bombers crowds were inflated by an MCG Adelaide Oval and Marvel Stadium standout home game for different reasons. And it's correct that Port Bombers Swans and Hawks are higher also because of their first season in the comp. Finals crowds will be interesting as Lions will be at Metricon Crows at Unley still and Cats at GMHBA Stadium for the first Final. Just for fun I will predict the four games: Melb/ Adelaide Ikon Park 3,000/3,500 Lions/ Tigers Metricon 5,000/6,000 Cats/ Roos GMHBA 4,500/5,000 Pies/ Dogs Vic Park 4,000/4,500 Comments why Really only one team Dees for support here Tigers fans will match Lions as it is at Metricon 3/4 will be Cats fans no doubt. Pies will be 4/5 of crowd absolutely. That's assuming all games are not ruined by rain on the day/ night.- AFLW: QF vs Adelaide
My goodness you don't want Casey long term with updated Home Ground updated facilities for AFLW and VFLW and VFL yet you are drumming up opinions on gender football favouritism and the length and timing of the contract. Plus you STIILL want the 2 next Finals games Yes that's all you are cogitating over the AFLW Dees to play at Casey Fields. Make up your mind please. Actually not that it would bother you but the girls love Fortress Casey and embrace it proudly but suspect that Ikon Park is ok to them as a substitute. Plenty of good reasons we all know ie crowds, transport lack of wind hopefully and The GF will 99% be played there if we or another Victorian Club ( other than Geelong) host . Time to move on KM it's simply not worth it as you are making a mountain out of a molehill and note you have not even acknowledged some of my points which I assume you can't fault. Let's just hope the AFLW team win our first flag and they can unfurl it at Casey in Round 1 next season whenever that may be. ( August 2023 start again maybe).- Welcome to Demonland Pick 37
Turner RDB Could Munkara be the player we thought Rosman might have been if he had shown signs of development? We need an X factor forward/ mid especially in case of The possibility of the Kossie factor. We may have the player in Howes if he develops physically but Two it three X factors in Kossie Howes and Munkara would liven up any forward line or team if all develop. - JVR Extends to 2025
