  1. Redleg All you replied was about an injured player but you did not name a defender. And that IMO had nothing to do with your separate post on Toby bring tried as a defender. Is the injured defender Joel Smith BTW ? Also in your Bowes posting you name 5 players you want delisted? Really that won't happen and contains no common sense. I do agree however that Bowes and pick 7 would be a good trade for us to get involved but not 5 players maybe ONE.
  2. Because our SCttee and Coach ignored his good form at Casey in the QUAL Final. (was named in our best and Jake had over 25 possessions and I saw everyone of those quality touches.) Just because he wasn't selected doesn't make your opinion any more right in my eyes, Kent. Another example of very conservative selection and playing players with some injury issues.
  3. One person in this forward mix we must not underrate snd that is JVR. I am going to watch the video of the Casey Demons GF win again and if he doesn't have about 10/12 touches snd 7/8 don't end up as score involvements I'll be very surprised. The truth is he handpassed he tapped in the air and along the ground and he went for his high marks and the ball occasionally ended up in our favour. BUT he had about only 2/3 shots at goal and no goals. However in a score of 10.10 .70 his strike rate of 7 score involvements and three shots at goal and the rain snd mud etc. he has played a Tommy Mac role in the VFL at the top old age of 18/19. Not in our best six/ seven in the paper but I bet the AFL back room boys and Mark Corrigan are pretty bullish about his future. So if JVR rises to The VFL from Round1 2023 he IMO will create opportunities that only a Tmac does for our forwards and get a modest initial total of goals for himself through his team play and clever 1 % ers BBB and Maxy don't do. In other words he will add to Fritta and Kossies footy smarts as touches fro these 3 forwards mean goals or score involvements you our total. The lad can lead as well which is a bonus. Our Forward Cup has gone past half full so let's just see if at some stage when JVR gets his chance that some of the above "magic" will start to happen. Fifth 2022 ???? 2023 with JVR and Harry Petty forward!!!
  4. Absolutely with Tmac doing some heavy lifting high marking and 65/70 crumbs (goals)for the Kossie Chandler world. Cameos for Maxy and Brodie as well.!! Fritta might even top 60 plus with all this talent for the opposition to mind. A weakness becomes a strength.!
  5. Well history proves you are wrong !!
  6. Chookrat you have asked about Clarke and Fagan's reputations. Firstly have you read about the harrowing and mentally challenging effects already bestowed upon the players and families that have played out? There will need be proof to back up there evidence so far so I don't presume your " made up things story " will be the result you envisage. Consider this if the result goes the other way ie not made up but apportion of guilt Or no effective result then all will be in the same boat with no satisfactory closure? The AFL better sharpen their responses up to racial matters as they have ignored or taken no action at the others basically ie Goodes, Pies, And Crows. Sorry to add more complications CR but your post was very flimsy and underwhelming re consequences which are mostly and generally two sided! Lastly like all others who are judged innocent after legal complexities they will move on or perish depending upon their mental strength. There are more avenues of assistance now for help if needed. Jo hi Thank goodness. And if there is guilt then I imagine there is a community course and advice to uptake or attend to be more aware of inappropriate actions if they wish to continue at some stage.
  7. The consequences have already been highlighted by bringing these matters out in to the open. Livelihoods have been effected for all to see already. Your only looking at this from one side. Yes both sides will have their day in the commission that's being setup but consequences work on both sides remember before or after legality or the decision making is finalised. There may very well be no winners from this sporting tragedy, especially if there are no learnings by the AFL (and it's Clubs ) from the Adam Goodes, Adelaide Camp and Pies "do better" cases. BTW there has been no dispute in these past cases in the AFL about the level of racism and hurt created so I am very surprised at the numbers here Querying the honesty in the present case. We only need to look at the racist comments Kossie has faced so far in his career that no one seems to invent these actions of a racist nature.
  8. No that's what Bowey can do . Toby is not the same strength or class as Dan Riol or Bowey. Chandler might be a chance however with greater body strength and longer kicking and in one line he would hav the pace.
  9. Who are you referring to ? Hibbo was not injured IMO at the end of the season. Plenty of other defenders had injury riddled seasons or did notrecover from injury properly or were played too early ie Salem Rivers Lever for example.
  10. What's wrong with JJ in our midfield and Harmesy tagging
  11. FITP it's "powder dry" typo error obviously! Hope you are right I can't see one reason for us to be quiet We need SIX new AFL standard players thanks to highly conservative selection policy. ( that's being nice really)
  12. Let's give it a try !! You are a Goody clone no risk or adventure!!
  13. This is band Aid if it replaces the draft unless the player had something special McMahon needs building up obviously but our draft choices are where our cream is to take and the mid or preseason drafts are ok for your choices.
  14. Whatever has Hore done since he left us (and being a former HBFlanker of some but not all skills ) who also has not very hard. played any or little footy for Kangas who he went to. You may as well include Dean Kent in your memory lane of players who really didn't make it with us despite trying very hard. our judgement proved correct as we Won a flag within a short period and they failed to shine at their new Club in the meantime.
  15. Yes they sure can but they have had a proud and long history and plenty of opportunities to perfect a Good Show. No expense spared of course helps. I see it as a Horses for Courses and we will be a republic in 20 or 50 or 100 years depending on our collective Will to create it. History is reducing their realms each decade or more like each century. Not on my mortal watch will we be a republic and I am quite happy to let UK be the traditional Monarchy that keeps the people happy in easier or tough times. Their Govt like ours had just had a change for the better (Leader) and we are in good hands with ScoMo and his malcontents safely deposed for what I expect is at least 2/3 terms of righteous thinking of what they want to mean! The spoils of our VFL Cup are yet to unfold but some gems are likely when the dust settles from the quirky precocious youth to potential AFL' ers of 2/3 years and Sam is he Jacko's replacement or do we need Brodie Grundy as well to cushion big Maxy? A better health fortune snd game plan for 2023 plus hunger from all will be a great tonic fir another very serious assault on another Flag.
  16. Think Hibbo is a medium played tall and Turner is more of a tall and may not be able to handle the medium size Dusty's of the world. Have thought Turner may be able to give Petty the time to go forward and join JVR and Tmac if he recovers his fitness. All ways around between JVR Tmac Pettyweshouldhave3goodbacks/forwards in the mix with our existing back champs and Turner Tommo Smith and possible forwards BBB in form plus Weid Gawny and Grundy with cameos. An early pick in the draft of a forward and or back of 195cm plus as a 1/2 year project is also worthy of considering. Not too difficult ? in JT we trust. Goody etc. have to be creative at selection
  17. There are over 2/3,000 players around of virtual AFL standard in Australia some of whom have stalled due to Covid but are ready for a challenge. Why spend $10,000 on Airfares on a 30/70 % chance on an Irish " stab in the dark" ? We have AFL plus VFL all interstate Style SANFLS etc, to consider. No name is banging in my head but JT and Lamby should have some if deemed that style player is required. Could be an 18 yo bush pig or a 25 yo from a VFL background or even Patrick Dow from the Blues for some outside run as a more needed alternative. Connor Nash is the prototype you seek but a pacy and classy outside runner better fits our needs IMO at this stage to insulate our draft choices and existing stock to maintain our on the ball dominance.
  18. Was played in AFL too soon snd never recovered his amazing 2021 form. BOth Salo and Jakey had injury snd form as were pushed too far and ended up not fully fit. Back to 2021 form with good pre seasons.
  19. You know a change of environment is always a chance of players fitting in and relishing different systems and culture. Stewart would be a good 3rd/4th defender or handy FP goalkicker and Francis a HB flanker good overhead and skilful msybe even a half forward. Both are better players ( ie have more ability than they are showing at Tulla.) I think it's better getting a "readymade player " snd working with him for say a 3Rd rounder as we already have about 6/8 young potentials who need to start grabbing the spots ASAP
  20. Ask for swap for James Stewart or Aaron Francis. Reckon we could make a player out of either one.
  21. I reckon Chandler should go better as a small defender minding the opp small player and would look good with pace on his beautiful left foot straight ahead. Corners and small amounts of room take his skill away at the top level and he is not a consistent goal kicker really. Csn always be shifted forward for a cameo if needed. Bowser on a wing or half forward gives us more class nearer the goals.
  22. TYSYL Blatantly Deliberate bump when had choice to tackle. Feet off the ground gives it away !!! If you choose to bump and concuss a player you are responsible for your action. Saw it right in front of me! Said to friend next to me that it was 2 gamer but knowing AFL he might get off!!!! MRO and Tribunal got it right only the Appeals Brainless Trio got it so horribly wrong as Gil says so!! Wonder if you would have same opinion if that was Clarry in a Prelim and going to miss a Granny through Concussion !!
  23. He still is and will for most of his retirement . FWIW I totally agree with Gil and call this the "Fake Win" akin to the Blues Over Payments when "Pigs [censored]" Elliot ran the Club like Crown Casino. Hard not to dislike Paddy really but it happened right in front of me and from the top level stand on the wing:/hf he deliberately decided that Carlton needed some grunt to liven up his players ( they were 5/6 goals down) and took out Ah Chee as a sample of "tough footy". The 2 weeks was absolutely justified and the shambolic AFL MRO/Tribunal/Appeals system is a disgrace. Should be rethought and restructured before 2023.
  24. Of course Rovers and Salem played injured and were bought back straight into the AFL We should learn and give long term injured a return in the VFL to allow some sort of recovery. Sparrow needs a few VFL games also. Many of our other players were injured and playing at the end of the year. We don't learn and thsts why we couldn't play out games to the full. Goody and the SC are guilty.
  25. Correct LDC By the Wed all exits were finished as Gawny took Cup home on the Thursday.
