We need an A grade midfielder in addition for a key forward. Viney is 30 now, and Petracca needs to go forward of the ball.

Sparrow isn't the answer, tries hard though. Pickett and Rivers are still young but top draft picks come and have instant impact these days

Even if 'Gus was playing I feel we may be having this issue. Need something extra/different in the midfield composition.
Kozzie show flashes but need him forward defensive pressure as well so not a permanent solution.

We have been at crunch time for 3 years

Over confident poor list management and we really believe we are full of stars and play like it!

    Rebuild time in my view.

Hopefully we go less moneyball this offseason with the trades and can snare a key puzzle piece.

Based on Goody's post-game quotes, it appears that even Goody is aware that his list has flaws and he will need to tinker with things to give us a better shot at it. Some of the tinkers will come at the mid-season draft where Tubby Taylor should get two shots at unearthing players who could add something - replacements for Brayshaw and Joel Smith.

Are we allowed a replacement for JS?

The blowtorch is on the midfield this week.

I don't know what they need to do, whether it's rotate Salo/Rivers or even Woey through there for a different look or just put a firecracker under the old firm's backside but we are quite far off it in that area. 36 inside 50s is appalling.

Think Rivers has more dash than Salo so i'd prefer that option.

We need more than just extractors/hoofers

I think it is time for some personnel change. We can't keep doing the same thing and expecting different results.

I'd like to see Woey in for full game time. He has been playing really conistent footy and deserves a good block of games in the team and not as sub.

Billings needs to go back to Casey for mine and I think it is time to give Laurie an extended run in the team as well.

Brown is cooked at AFL level. We may as well play Fullarton and at least have him second ruck so Petty can stay forward or alternatively lets see how Verrall goes.

I love BBB but as I said in the match thread he only got a game cos JvR, Turner, Melksham and He who cant be named were out.

The reality with BBB is he's a cherry on top player - he can still play a role but needs good delivery and needs others to do some of the hardwork to cover him.

When we're a little bit off our game or dysfunctional it's not going to go well for BBB.

Imagine Fullarton gets a gig soon to see what he can offer.

Our whole forward line, Fritsch included, have provided absolutely no defensive pressure.

Goes straight in and straight back out.

Our best forward def pressure was trio of Spargo anb kozzy doing the business

injuries and other reasons have meant we haven’t been able to run this this season

The imbalance of our list really showing. We clearly can't trust Fullarton and he's just another break in case of emergency list blogger like Schache.

Tbf Brown only playing cos Turner, JvR, melksham, he who can’t be named are out.if any of them were playing we’d have been able to throw petty back down to help.

    missing Langdon and spargo today.

    then the brayshaw situation etc

Very surprised that with Langdon out we have ignored Lachie Hunter. Worried about covering Langdon’s run. He is a workhorse. Love positive Lingers..hope he is ok

Could always shift ANB for portions of the game I guess

Restricted free agent Jarrod Berry is weighing up a four-year deal from the @brisbanelions

    The seven other RFAs:
H.McCluggage: Rivals believe he will stay on a 6yr deal, but hasn't signed yet.
P.Dangerfield: Surely staying, but no deal on the table yet.
B.Ainsworth: 4yr deal on the table, but future unclear at Suns
B.Hardwick: Hawks have offered a deal but signature is a while off.
C.Zurhaar: More likely to leave if North continues to struggle.
W.Hayward: Carlton, Port, Adelaide circling. Won't sign at Sydney anytime soon. For details  see
    @xandermcg9
T.English: Talks ongoing, albeit slowly. One for back end of the season at best.

its definitely good for competition, but given how greedy the AFL is, it will more than likely canabilise the broadcasting by splitting up different games by day, platform, etc.

We can be thankful there is at least one broadcaster showing every single game in the AFL season.

Hope we never go down that route, seems like a logical nightmare for football(soccer) fans  in the uk.

Miss the simple days of Foxtel though, now sport so fractured and everywhere for soccer.

    Apple - MLS

    Paramount - A-league

Optus - Premier League and Spanish League, Euros

Stan - Champions league, Europa league, Europa conference league

bein - Copa America, championship, SPL, serie a, bundesliga.

I don’t think McAdam playing has any relevance to whether Salem is in this week. If he’s fit, he plays. Probably at the expense of Woewodin.

More meant, not sure about anyone being omitted as the other in will be a tall. Woey should be safe for another week IMO

I have no problem with Government money being sought, but i am sick and tired of Jeeelong getting the majority of it, for whatever the want.

Whenever I bring this up with a cats fan he always replies asking who paid for the MCG etc.

  13. Is Verrall ready?

BBB/Tomlinson could be an option but would prefer BBB and Kolt as I'd like to see him given another go before McAdam and Melk are back.

that being said Tommo does have a some pros

    • Can cover Defensive positions if Tmac goes in the ruck
    • Can also relief ruck himself
    • Won't need to shift Petty about as much so - Petty can get solid run up front for form etc.
    • Prefer BBB to ruck F50 only

Didnt want to start a new thread but grabbed this from SEN's "Whately and King top 4 weekly rating" and saw Whately with this

    3. Melbourne

“I've got Melbourne at three because if Christian Petracca is going to play like that, they’re three with a bullet.

Except I know that he won't, but I just thought they’re at three.”

Is it me or is that extremely disrespectful re comments on Trac? i was actually really surprised at that comment (in fairness i wasn't listening live so am missing a bit of context). Whately is usually really measured so again it plays to this media narrative around Melbourne of late. Daicos goes missing for 6 games this year and he has one game and suddenly he is the GOAT. Trac has had a far better year so far and has only been below his best (not by much) for the last 2-3 games and is likely second or third in the Coaches Votes. His game against a very good opponent was a class above. Almost like a 16yo playing in U12s - the absolute monstering of that performance was undeniable. Had Melbourne won, the narrative surrounding just how good Trac is would have reignited the whole Dusty 2.0.

I just assumed it was due to him kicking more points than goals the last 2 years. Only one way to end that debate, keep slotting them
