  1. A Caro Wilson article of September, said a group of former players were making calls to find a challenger to Bartlett on the board as they were unhappy with direction of the club. Fair chance a few of Green's contemporaries were a part of that group and potentially Green's appointment is an olive branch to that group.
  2. Freo could be our 'Alan Bond'
  3. He definitely fills a massive gap
  4. Surely more potential upside than the Bennell experiment? All comes down to the price
  5. Very risky, imagine Jesse and Buddy both driving to training... Potential carnage
  6. You could be describing half our players from the last 20 years...
  7. Agree Cotchin's tackle was way worse than Lynch knee. Should've been a week, maybe even 2 weeks in a normal H&A season Cotchin is a massive sniper
  8. Cotchin tackle... would be 2 weeks for ANB
  9. He's the CEO. His ownership is not in question. And he signed Goodwin for 4 years, so his Rod Grinters are kinda on the line... My point was more simple though... The email update was just empty
  10. That email took us nowhere and gave us nothing Classic corporate waffle
  11. Boom! The mail on the money
  12. Just rewatched the Rd 22 2018 win v Eagles highlights Great to see Omac take down Jack Darling with a fair, regulation, hard nut tackle... Whichever way it goes, I'll always see Omac as a strong role player who performed many times for our jumper Hope the best for him!
  13. There's merit to this angle
  14. Assume a forced pay cut enables a giant G.F. to any restraint of trade clauses
  15. Generally only exit for the top job... Maybe this is a bigger story?!?
  16. Is there a consensus here that Hawthorn will release him from contract? Assume a post-Covid soft cap environment may make FD contracts a little more flexible, particularly if a forced 2020 pay cut was imposed But still, assistant contracts have been a stumbling block before IIRC
  17. Great news This kid looks a genuine talent
  18. I'll never forget spending an hour or so with the Legend himself in exactly these circumstances about 15 years ago I told him my dad used to take me to see him play, he remembered my dad and wanted to know all about how he was doing...
  19. Yes But need to balance challenges of continuity, building a team, being on a "journey" (? I hate that word) with cleaning the carcass and "rebuilding"
  20. Surely this happens every year regardless This is only a "story" as we finished 9th and have underwhelmed the last 2 years
  21. Same age as Petracca who had a breakthrough season I felt ANB was his most impactful at times this year (when he played), he got involved in a lot of scoring chains in the games late in the season in particular I feel that suspension ? and the shorter games and season may have had us miss out on some potential with him I'd prefer ANB over a Spargo clogging a list spot (maybe even Hannan given injuries), I feel there is potential next year
  22. Brayshaw is on the table Firm mail And I think we'll be chasing a draft place over a player... (my view not the mail)
