When I see those picks perhaps there is a strong case for bundling your 3rd and 4th round picks and trading them for a pick < 40.

I thought all Hollands were called Dutchy...like all red heads were called bluey, except when they were called sauce... The past players look so happy......

Those who left on bad terms...
Fritta and Turner replied to Supreme_Demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
I don't know any who stopped supporting the Dees though my sister stopped buying a membership and my very elderly aunty spent her spare time writing stinging critiques of the teams performance to the committee.- 74 replies

POSTGAME: GRAND FINAL vs Western Bulldogs
Fritta and Turner replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Why thankyou. And if at one stage BB was at full back doing goodness knows what, perhaps it is the game style, preparation and the licence the players have been given is of more importance. -
Has Liam Jones retired?

POSTGAME: GRAND FINAL vs Western Bulldogs
Fritta and Turner replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
That used to be the talk of Monday, the genius/[censored] move (or not) made by the coach.....not any more Now it seems so much more scripted; most rotations seem to be at the behest of the performance guru, who might not even be watching the game. And there seem to be some set rules; if player X goes off, then player Y takes his position and Z goes.... -
POSTGAME: GRAND FINAL vs Western Bulldogs
Fritta and Turner replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I am fairly certain that Clarrie was on Treloar when he kicked his first, ANB was on the Bont when he kicked his last, Viney on the Bont when he took a pack mark (like really), Spargo gave away an head high to Hunter, not sure of the rest.... -

Mrs wanted to watch some crap on the ABC so I sat that out and watched the replay. Had some quality problems with the videos so watched the 2nd quarter. With hindsight it was a very good quarter of footy. What I have realised is that the Dogs midfield kicked most of their goals. 7/10. Room for defensive improvement next year? -
Tom Scully!!!!!

Those who left on bad terms...
Fritta and Turner replied to Supreme_Demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
Well to be honest it is all about relationships and team mates. I assume Howe is happy for TMc. Bevo keeps in touch with some mates from his days at the Dees. If we weren't playing against them I am sure he would happy for our win. I wonder who Scully keeps in touch with.- 74 replies

Who needs a big preseason at the MFC?
Fritta and Turner replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Michael Hibberd? If it wasnt for a hamstring and an ankle may not have been picked for the GF? -
My memory of Big Carl as a demon was Carl throwing a back hander and hitting Kelly O'Donnell in the gob.

Saturday Morning on Demonland (6)
Fritta and Turner replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Depends on your definition of success I suppose. Geelong are a well managed, very professional club. They have made the most of their natural advantage, playing at Kardinia Park against sides down the list. Furthermore their list over the years has been rather durable. So they are doing lots of things right. But they hadn't added any silverware. Now the ex Cats coaches have resigned and Scott has been given an extension to do what....? Even Scott has said that they have trying to fill gaps for the last few seasons. So long term success, no. -

2021 Player Reviews: #32 Tom Sparrow
Fritta and Turner replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
So we have a run on and the dogs defence left Sparra standing unmarked directly in front on the 50 metre arc.....they were doing a zonal defence in case some one tried a blinder from the boundary??? who is their defensive coach? -

Can anyone surmise as to what position he was playing when he kicked his big goal and why wasnt any dogs player on him? -
You mean a usb stick?

Not surprised. The way they treated Stan Alves I hope it continues.

We nailed the 1986 Draft...or did we?
Fritta and Turner replied to La Dee-vina Comedia's topic in Melbourne Demons
Clubs didnt have a clue on the draft or how to pick players or use picks. (Febey at 250+ games was the most successful? player from the first draft?.) When the Hawks picked Alex McDonald as Nos 1 I remember Jeans saying he was not the best footballer, but the type of footballer they most needed. And remember when the Saints picked 'Jack' Frost? Or when we picked Luke Molan? Picks are no longer used to send a message. -
One of the very few we got rid of who went on to ultimate success. From the implementation of Vic Country Zones to the start of the Draft we were terrible.

Is KRock the old 3GL? or similar? if so the prelim final call would be like Bounce of the ball, Stanley up high, Dangerfield clearly held, play on, knocked forward, great defensive work by Henderson,........goal to Melbourne Bounce of the ball, Stanley up even higher, Selwood clearly held, play on, knocked forward, great defensive work by Bews,........goal to Melbourne. Special Comments : I think the Dees have shot their bolt. Repeat

We wanted to keep Cam so got rid of Jnr, and then Cam walked. We were left with our pants down and egg on our face. PJ said one of the first things he had to do was repair the damage caused by getting rid of Jnr. The mind still boggles.
