Maynard must get at least four weeks
Barrett "jumped to smother a kick, and that was his sole intent" Add, knew a collision was going to happen, left his feet, braced and turned his shoulder into the head of a completely open opponent. Sole intent, no, went to hurt, yes. I'll say it again, knew a collision would happen. No duty of care taken.

Forward 50 pressure that the talls don't bring, plus the delivery which is missing. Not too many options available. With Brayshaw out, then Tracc will have more mid time. I can see your humour, and had a giggle myself. For me, Spargy is not the worst, as a role player.

I think it will move when the first litigation for the CTE (Chronic traumatic encephalopathy) cost the insurance companies money, and the premiums sky rocket across all levels, then change will occur. The progress of reducing the head hits as very little to do ethics and morality, though a fair bit with the games look, but primarily the dollars. I can see him getting off. Big club, big name, big money for KC, then off to appeals for a technical interpretation. It is why I made the tongue in cheek remark about suing the number 4 and those who say it is a consequence of football act.

I think Hibbo has a tendon problem, Achilles, like Clarry and his hip tendon, they flare after hard use. Rest them, and will be right to go in 4 to 5 days. To get completely right they need 8 to 12 weeks.

Easy to misunderstand, I said something leading to this, as a bit tongue in cheek.

I think you're right. He would have a career in the media to fall onto.

I cannot remember him there either.

Maynard must get at least four weeks
That is not what some media, legals and past players are saying. More to play through here I think. Most are covered by workers insurance, so it is not out of pocket. Though volunteers, such as the board members are in an ambiguous position (not being fully covered).

CTE has now been known about for 20 years. It has a foreseeable outcome (known for 20 years), there been negligence in the precautions and efforts to minimize (also duty of care), and is there is damage. Foreseeable, negligent and damage, the three things required for litigation.

Goldy getting handballs away when she gets run down really helps with the momentum. Birch is up as well. Chaplin fitting in, getting the loose ball. Pearce playing well. Always someone on the outside running. Lovely running game. Setting standards high for the rest of the year.

Bans has also put on a bit more muscles. Can burst through the players easily.

Inspirational, and Katey leads by example as well as the talk.

Yes a bit tongue in cheek, but if this kind of action is justified by some and especially the tribunal, then they put themselves at risk of litigation.

Maynard must get at least four weeks
Haven't read this thread, but want to comment, seeing as there are many commentators suggesting it was a consequence of a football act. I'm surprised, he obviously expected to hit the player at some time. To brace and put his shoulder into the head of a completely open Gus was unacceptable. He left the ground and therefore couldn't control the impact, yet was able to brace and hit Gus in the head with his shoulder. He had the option of pulling his torso down and collecting Gus lower. Plenty of alternative scenario were possible, he chose the one that would hurt. If Gus cannot play again, sue him and anyone who suggest this should be part of our game. Gus did nothing wrong, except run towards a thug.

Max must be somewhat banged up, otherwise would have had some involvement with the squad today, which he didn't. Your right, probably needs support during the game. TMac can take some time on the ball, I reckon.

He was also the last to leave the fans, did plenty of signing and talking. My guess is, if he was a possible, he would be much more focused.

TRAINING: Sunday 9th September 2023
Stafford places himself in front of the forwards. I guess he gets a look at what is being delivered and instructs what movement he wants from those in that area. The starting position always seems to be the clump as they pick, block and find space. The problem seems the delivery though. The player with the ball looks and sees the clump and not the one leading away from the clump. That is his style, be unlikely to change now, but I don't think it works well.

Grundy didn't do any work with the forwards, trained with mids. Turner, would be it then. That would be exciting for the young bloke, and us if he kicks one or two.

Wind back the clock. TMac needs to do more, and will be better for his last run. With Jacob out, what do you suggest? Go with a medium/small player, like Spargo. (Cannot think of a medium possibility) Turner, Grundy or BBB, perhaps Tomlinson. Really hope the Friday game becomes the Fritta show, with a co-starring role by Smith and Kossie.

TRAINING: Sunday 9th September 2023
BBB was in the training squad, and going ok. Knows the role well, as opposed to Turner. Takes a big defender, leaving Fritta and/or Smith freer. Not saying absolutely, only a possible.

TRAINING: Sunday 9th September 2023
Plenty of supporters were here today. The players, though reserved, had a bit more noise about them than the last Wednesday's open training. Usually they are having fun, getting amongst each other, and have smiles on their faces, only a little of this was observed. Hope the stress isn't getting to them. They need the win against Blue, and to get the Mojo on. Clarry is a worry, hope it is only a loading/recovery situation. Given that, he cannot seem to control his efforts when in a session. If tendon, then it can flare post 24–48 hrs after use, and be right to go again. He should be good, unless he picked up another niggle. BBB is a chance to replace JVR, as Grundy trained with the mids. Gawn sitting out the session, he was in training gear and had about 10 minutes of work with the trainer. Turner is also a chance to get a gig as a forward (bit of a "hail mary"), Tomlinson looking strong, is he likely to get the sub position? (maybe not flexible enough) JJ working hard and showing reliable kicking skills. Overall it was a quick session, started with run throughs, then went to kicking drills within the forward arc with 4 starting points in congestion and some kaos. They spilt into their lines. Backs finding spread and delivering through the middle. Mids going lateral before heading into the forward area. The Forwards delivering into their clump, where Stafford hangs out and directs. They grouped, signed some small balls for the crowd , and then went into some simple goal kicking drills. They left the field in drips and drops.

GAMEDAY: QF vs Collingwood
Didn't we slap this mob around last time we played them. Gave them a sense of being close to us by, missing lots of gettable goals and giving them the last 3 of the match. The Woodens have to come up with a plan to beat us, as our way is superior. Be interesting to see how they adapt to our, see ball, get ball game. We play our way, they are forced into something different, otherwise we roll them. There is a chance they go to ruffle us up. Vines, JVR, May and Sparrow say give me more of that. We will miss Melky, though the forward roles should be the same same. Want them all to contribute when it is their time to impact. Go Dees
