  1. It would beat the Royal.
  2. I'm not trying to be tedious, just understand your point My point is: the commercial/gym/secondary use facilities would be well placed here Training there is not an issue - when does training occur - not when most people can hop on/off at places you've identified I suspect (maybe wrong) most people who could attend are commuting into the city Get what you're saying about on/off at Jolimont but where else? In any case, if you could access the gym...in early, gym, watch training, work etc (I have no idea when training is, sorry if I sound dense) Then you've got the exec and admin arms of the club, they need to work there - I suspect a base near the G suits them better in terms of basic geographic location than the corridor you've mentioned...(depending where you are suggesting) Point taken about having to get off at Richmond and walk there, but what's the walk from Rich to the proposed site. 300m maybe? And to Jolimont, another couple hundred? To flip what I am saying - where else could it be taking all that into account. Actually, put it at Trevor Barker oval or in that precinct, perfect! Just kidding - you'll only really reach a limited demographic. But then, might be easier in overcoming opposition. Who knows. I'd have thought a base in the proposed location with all that signage frontage to Punt Rd would be very good marketing for the club..... (Again, not arguing for argument's sake - it's a very interesting discussion!)
  3. Is the Oakleight, Bentleigh (and beyond) corridor demographic suitable to football? I don't think it's just about going where the people are. You've got the administrative and exec wing of the club and players too.
  4. Boo hiss for the victim blaming.

  6. Well, there's a lot to be said for zealously reducing our reliance on cars. Retracting my snark - sorry.
  7. I've got a bridge in Terabithia to sell anyone who thinks Guy is not still pro development. He will say anything to get in power.
  8. On the first point, on what basis was she complaining? Virtue signalling, dog whistling. Standard politics of course. I wonder if there'd be the same uproar if it was a different club? Am watching this from afar and saw the ABC breakfast show whizz through of the front pages of the majors and saw the Sun front. Very impressive for the club anyway. I suppose it all comes down to being really clear about what is in scope and what it means for public amenity. Good point on Gosch's.
  9. Hopefully DL can post the SEN link (I never seem able to find them)
  10. Exactly. Were it to include a semi public gym, heavily branded as Demons, it might induce non-partisan attendees to consider a membership, or else, there are all sorts of cross promotional opportunities to bundle with membership, and derive revenue. It's a fantastic idea.
  11. What Sue said. [But to touch on the point: input from any sensible person, including a "greenie" (whatever that means), is to be welcomed. In fact, were it not for Greens - Franklin, Tarkine, Piliga, Bentley and on it goes. I think ProDee is confusing greens with NIMBYS which present orders of magnitude a larger problem]
  12. The maxim, at least in terms of efficiency of transport and environmental impact in a city context, is completely correct. But let's not let facts get in the way of ideology, eh?
  13. The Sydney stadium tear down rebuilds are not an apt comparison those are lib gerrymandering to their scg trust mates and built on shoddy business cases apparently ie tearing down apparently perfectly serviceable stadiums in NSW we view that as extremely injudicious use of $
  14. Please another game at the fortress not the G! Evidence based and data driven grounds based on wins
  15. Yikes! Corporate memory! You remember back that far or was it just an inordinately bad call and will go down in history
  16. Ha, I was about to seek clarification on that, Is Ethan actually saying if Gaff signs with anyone it will be with the Demons or is he taking the p!ss I so confusion
  17. Is the data available anywhere? Datestamp, members. Looks to be 28/week? (n=1 week)
  18. If you say so great value adding snark
  19. That would just indicate west coast supporters' IQ is impecunious in nature. Or else they've just all been smoking too many durries

Whilst that's an interesting discussion, it's very different from the proposition that FB is evil. Anyway, that's discussion for another thread.

In the old days you'd have had money on some far flung destination like Mt Gambier or Mallacoota or Manangatang but these days hopefully closer
