Why do footy players look good in the red and blue

Should have had an actual forward coaching the group 4 years ago. Blows my mind we had Stafford coaching the forwards. I’m pretty sure that’s who was coaching them

Yes we did at the start of the draft. Has that now changed? It may have.

I can’t answer from before my time but we generally evaluate xyz players and evaluate against previous draft players etc. Honestly once you see them play quite a few times at the carnivals etc you start to get a feeling for it. Was hard when I first started but after a few years doing stacks of research, watching games etc you just get a feeling for it. It’s like any job to be honest.

Only place he will leave for is Tasmania and captaincy same as Ablett. I can really see him going to be honest. Money and opportunity would be massive. Not everyday you become the 1st captain of a club.

That’s all it is. You can only go with what is put in front of you. Plus also AFL clubland etc is so much different to under 18s etc. no one means any disrespect to the kids coming through in this draft class it’s just tipped to not be as strong. At present I think personally there will be 2-3 really good players then potentially slowly taper off. I hope I’m wrong as they are all better than what I was as a footballer and I wish them well.

2003 was marked as an average draft overall. I wasnt in the industry then but I’m pretty sure that was Pendlebury year and with out checking it up I think you will most of the top 10 didn’t become superstars except for Pendlebury etc. [censored] now I need to go back and have a look to see how my memory was.

Yeah there is just a feeling with what we have seen the last couple of years there are a lot less standouts with amazing traits/skills compared to other years. Look we could be wrong as some kids are still developing plus what roles they get in the club they land at etc. it’s just how we feel the draft is. Look I hope I’m wrong but going of years of drafting it looks to be a shallow draft.

We need to show some defiance and be committed to not trade him unless we get back what we want. We said we want a player so that should be the bare minimum. Humphries fits that narrative.

The key will be that he asks to be traded then it’s up to Gold Coast with how they handle the request.

Melbourne have the upper hand which is great. Worse case is they miss out and Petracca stays for another year. I’m hoping the Suns are desperate enough to part with Humphries and that he would be good with moving to us

Yeah mate sure. 1993 2002 2009 2010 2012 2014 2020 yes there were some stars etc but these are off the top of my head. I work in the industry and have so for quite a while. They are all good footy players but some years are just leaner on stand out talent.

Myself as I work in the Industry. Not saying they can’t develop into superstars but what we have noticed tracking this years draft over the last few years is that there are limited standouts compared to other years. I do this for a job and have been for a long time. Trust me I hope I’m wrong just that this year doesn’t look to go as deep.

Unfortunately it’s a super shallow draft this year. I hope they are wrong but it’s been touted shallow for a year or 2.

Next season we will be bottom 4 but I only see it as a temporary reset while king gets his pieces and coaching plan together
