  1. Felt like we lost game when Sparrow missed a basic handball which was probably the wrong option in the end anyway.

Something needs to be said for some players in terrible form at the moment on top of missing some key players (or key players playing under done).

A few times tonight we kept trying to be unselfish when the right option was to have a ping. Spargo, Harmes, Brayshaw and Gawn all guilty of this.

  2. Keep seeing we were outplayed and outcoached. I'll concede on the outplayed bit but it's easy to look bad when you're down key pillars mid game.

Out coached i'm not sure, we pounded Freo before we were essentially forced to play with Lever as the only tall defenders until a compromised Petty came back on the offer some extra height. Fremantle did nothing we didn't see St. Kilda do for example.

Freo purposely went very tall to try disrupt our aerial game and we lost T. Mac before the game and May & Petty during the game. The only thing Goodwin should have done was put Gawn down back as a defender but waited way too long and then decided to put Weideman down back.

If T. Mac's not fit i'm sure JVR would be a better option then Weid as he has been swingmen in his junior days. Logically, Tomlinson comes in for May next week and we hope Petty is fine. Melksham needs to come out and a bigger body like Harmes needs to come in.

So then they can go and get fudged.
Is Jackson really gonna walk out on us and his premiership mates to get to the bottom of the ladder team? Come on.

Mate, that's the AFL's wet dream. It shows Free Agency works.

The reality is, we took a risk drafting a WA boy who was doing TV spots with Nic Nat prior to being drafted.

  4. I'll say everybody contributed tonight and we got a comprehensive win because of it.

I've been critical of Harmes in the past but his start to this year has been fantastic, well done Harmesy.

Weid competed well tonight and i am glad he got his goal.

Rivers, Jordon, Sparrow and Hunt had some real good moments when you could excuse them taking a breather and not push that extra yard which is fantastic because we have players on the comeback trail who are as talented and hungry.

Kind of similar to the media referring to every second player in the league as a star.

Trac, Salem, Oliver, Viney, Jackson were flag heroes as they had a direct influence   on the win, whether it be to get us off to a solid start, leading the charge in that dramatic 3rd qtr turnaround or dominating through the entire game.

I would not label Rivers a GF hero and I don’t recall him having a particularly great game.

    He was perfectly fine?

  6. I remember at half time i was sitting there pretty down trying to prepare myself to watch the most important half of football in my life. The dogs were the only team i thought would give us a game and to that point they had.

Bont goal sailed over my head and i thought that was the game. Thank god i was wrong!

  7. Happy for all the fans that got to attend today, i was blessed to attend live here in Perth and still riding on the high of the win. I hope today on the rewatch those that missed out got to feel something close to what i did.

One of the things i'll never forget about this premiership is the reaction i saw from my family, they were as excited as i was when we had won. They've all seen multiple premierships on the TV supporting the Eagles and Hawks, but never had the opportunity to attend a grand final before. They all said it was the best experience going to the footy they've ever had and they were all as emotional as me and all the Dee's fan sitting around me in the cheer squad when we blitzed the doggies.

  8. Didn't Brock McLean donate money to help the club when it was trying to get rid of the debt?

As some posters have said here, i doubt there are very few people who have left this club with anger in there hearts that hold it against the club rather the individuals in charge.

McLean could rightfully be angry at our management during his years at the club but be happy we've turned ourselves around.

  9. Just want to give a few thoughts now that i've recovered emotionally.

Jack Viney was the underrated key in the midfield, did everything he could to will the ball forward all night.

Tom Sparrow did the shutdown role on Daniel after halftime.

Rivers and Hibberd were magnificent. I said Lever and Salem will need to have the games of their lives, but the way the match ups worked out we really needed Hibberd and Rivers to win their battles and they did.

Angus Brayshaw, what a 3rd quarter. His crunching spoil on Schache got a very loud cheer from everyone around me.

  10. I was in the cheer squad and there was a lady in the front row in her breast cancer melbourne guernsey after Bont had kicked his 3rd that turned around and said the next goal we get go absolutely mad and don't stop.

Fritsch kicks a set shot that seems uneventful comparatively to what happens next, but if you were in our end we didn't stop chanting melbourne until basically 3qtr time because the boys lifted of the noise.

May even smiled when he was walking back after one of the goals because we didn't shut up for 7-8 minutes by that point.
