  1. Bulldogs get a rising star nom.

What annoys me is spargo has stepped in and play 3 -4 great games . No fan fare. To me that counts for more than a flashy game in a shite team. No disrespect to the young fella at the dogs.

You obviously don't read Demonland too closely, don't you know that Weid is barely VFL, let alone AFL standard.

He's not really injured he's been left out because of form and to save him embarrassment they've faked an injury.

    Etc.......

Weids will be a gun. Has taken a bit mores f time but believe he will hit his straps, more likely next year. He will have a multipurpose role and will play his part to a tee. Roos got him with the Oliver draft deal for a reason!

You'd expect the Aints to go hard ball here.If Vic bound i could see him going to StKilda.

    Good fit

I think forward line and back line is fine. Mid is good but could do with a few pacey mids to compliment our star mid brigade.

Gaff could be looked at and I am sure we could package something up to move up in draft. If the draft is that good our later pick could be a diamond in the rough.

Take a quote out of context and look what happens..

It was Tim who was questioning whether or not we’ll play him. Gary was simply saying they’ll pick him when his ready.

    Wow. What a news grab.

Unlike Gary to say too much that makes sense. Loved him as a player, not so grand as a commentator of the game.

I don't see his decision making as the problem. Yes, he hangs on to the ball too long sometimes but he is usually looking for the best option. When he is in heavy traffic this often works to our advantage. His biggest weakness imo, is his kicking. It's rare to see a left footer with such an inaccurate, floaty trajectory. When commentators say he is a good kick it drives me mad. We as supporters know that he isn't. If he could work on this it would take him from a good inside ball winner to a really potent mid. Most people know how difficult it is to correct your basic kicking technique. This is something you evolve from childhood, but there have been some who made major adjustments to their technique. These changes are usually made to set shot goal kicking approaches though, not field-kicking under pressure. Maybe he needs to do what Nev has done. Kick within his limits. Nev is a great user but doesn't try to kick more than about 40 metres. He rarely wastes a kick. The coaching staff should be hammering Tyson about this. His potentially a great asset but will end up as a marginal player if he doesn't rectify this. Roos seemed to know what his strengths were and played him accordingly. He ain't no outside player. He does however, have the ability to be at the fall of the ball repeatedly.

Tyson is a good player. Makes the odd error but there are plenty worse.

That list has a tall forward, a tall back, a ruck, and five midfielders.

And of the midfielers, no two are alike.

I can't bring myself to speculate on any given one of them being 'the best', because I'm just so thrilled to have such a  strong group coming through, and it will be the unpredictable and dynamic unit they form that gets me jumping around.

I think if Brayshaw gets a few solid games in and a pre season he will be the boy. A Daniel Kerr cross with Sam Mitchell.

It was the tone in which he said it. like it was the MFC's fault that we had been touted as a premiership chance or why not The Dees.

The guy is a first class blog he's a vanilla special comments blog.

He is a bloke of morals. He came out swinging against the afl any their bad treatment of Essendon. He may have forgotten it destroyed his sons career.

Guy is a tool. Hate when he commentates. More than eddy. Maybe

Tradebait at the end of the year? Maybe.

But at this point of the year I simply ask this question - if not Tyson, then who else?

Who's spot in our best 22 could it be reasonably said that Tyson is taking up right at this point?

I think Tyson is not our issue. IHe plays his role and is doing no worse than any other. My concern is forward pressure . Solve that and we could be in the top four .

Hannan - pace and movement (Welcomed footy IQ)

Spargo - feisty and clever (Found one here)

Gawn - made a statement (Played to strengths)

Brayshaw - important second half (Making good progress)

Fritsch - some exciting plays (Lot to enthuse)

Hogan - never moved freely (Alway dangerous forward)

Neal -Bullen - continued poor season (Time for spell)

Harmes - overplays his abilities (Low footy IQ)

Hibberd - found energy again (Provided dash today)

Hunt - displayed more run (Has lost it)

Jetta - statistics belied effectiveness (Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful)

Jones - wonderful captain’s game (Wasteful at times)

T.McDonald - an impressive return (Makes BIG different)

O.McDonald - steady and safe (Becoming A grade)

Tyson - often butchered momentum (Usual from Tyson)

Lever - steady and effective (Better signs continue)

Lewis - a mixed bag (What leadership evidence?)

Vince - just a game (Tick)

Oliver - was quiet again (Please kick more)

Salem - enjoyed more freedom (Beginning to arrive)

Weideman- quiet when needed (Lot to excite)

Melksham - has rediscovered confidence (Becoming very reliable)

Spargo is a gun. One of the best first games I have seen .

Well not feeling over comfortable about this game. I think we go down or win by a bucket load.

We really need to win this one. Long road back from here if we don’t . Go dees play with some fight and Goodwin, mix it up a bit.

Do we have the required fitness to play 4 quarters of AFL football??

    Don't see it.

Just a shame really. God I hate when Carey and or Newman are right.

  12. After our poor effort, I realised something interesting when looking at the draw. The tigers play in their first 10 games only 2 top eight teams from last year.

Wow , the AFL aren’t favouring it’s biggest membership team to have a good start! I guess Martin got 3 votes last night too.

Honestly mate, if you couldn't see the improvement in Oscar last year, you weren't looking.

im in a competition involving the best 5 in our B and F. Tips are made pre season. I tipped him to finish 5th. One other guy predicted 4th.

Let's  be honest about it! Most of the morons on this site who were desparate for us to get Lever, envisaged Lever tipping Oscar out of the team. In doing so, they demonstrated that they'd never watched an Adelaide match. Lever was never obliged to man an opponent. Oscar does it every match he plays

Love Oscar. Big ask at such an age and experience level. He will be better than rance

Sounds to me that people are just looking for shadows to jump at.

Hogan will be at Freo in 2020. We need to make the most of him now, or that will be the headline. We have the cattle but must be defensive. Simple.

The best teams are the defensive in any sport. If the opposition don’t score you have little to do yourself. Fix the backline area or Hogan is back to Perth .
