    Sorry if this is off topic but why the [censored] is Dangerfield , Jenkins and the red ranga of nm the experts on Fox. This is it for me afl have lost the plot if they endorse this [censored] [censored].

    Personally if b brown commented on how I played I would drop the bloke next game. Afl is a basket case. No wonder we are losing kids to other sports. A joke !

    If We beat Dogs and go down to the cattery and knock em off we would have finished them off for the season.

    13 wins + high percentage will see a team/s scrape into the 8. 14 wins should be a definite place.

    We need to win another 5 games to be any chance. I can't see this happening with our run home. We really screwed up against the Saints on the weekend and they only have themselves to blame.

    How much do they want to play finals? We're about to find out.

    Freo = Win

    Dogs = 50/50 (Win)

    Cats = L

    Adel = 50/50 (L)

    Suns = Win

    Swans = 50/50 (L)

    Eagles = L

    Giants = 50/50 (Win)

    We will beat Geelong and Sydney. Buckle up the dees will hit their straps. I still think Goodwin is playing ducks and drakes!

    In short YES it is Nasher. Thankyou.

    Trac played a really well balanced game last week and I look forward to seeing him try to continue to do so this week.

    Stop the bashing on the developing beast.

    He will tear the dogs apart this weekend. No pun intended. I think he was spoken to and has no ambition to play in the 2’s . This weekend will be his best game yet.

    This guy is honestly amazing. Not only a good footy player but from all reports a great fella. He is the sort of guy you would have as your best man without having ever met him. And best of all he is a dees man through and through.

    We win the gf in 2019, he should be Australian of the year !

    Gaff and Murphy... we would be top 4 with 2 players of their ilk in the R & B.

    Watch gaff every fortnight here in the west. 2 Years ago I would have said no. Now big YES! Has it all !

    Those 50m protected zone goals are killing the game. Cost is last week and some rediculous ones over the last 2 weeks the hannebury one last night was the worst of all-time.

    Honestly you all need a good look at yourselves. The umpires are wonderful people who do a wonderful job. It never ceases to amaze me how we are favoured each game and yet we complain.

    Sorry, I am just bull shiting. They are a bunch of Manipulating twits. Who is responsible for them ? AFL?

    Im struggling to really understand the brilliance of our ploy to essentially play one style ...and then start withdrawing essential elements of that design.

    Odd

    With Geelong going down this makes this game so important. I think a few of the make the 8 teams could drop games. We simply need to win the next 3.

    All we need this year is to make the eight. It will assist in attracting players to the club. 2019 will be our big year!

    I will be watching this game now, hoping Trenners plays a blinder, can’t remember an ex player in my many years of following the Demons that I want to not just do well, but to reignite a career that should have been fantastic.

    Good luck and well done Jack.

    The cesspool from which the maggots emerge has been badly diluted by (a) too many teams and (b) too many umpires per game

    Now we must have about 50 of them; with 14 or even 16 teams with two of them per game that would mean 32.   So there is now a dregs pit of at least 18.  No wonder we get this ??? every week.

    It has really turned me off the game.  Used to watch every Friday and Saturday night game as well as nearly every Demons game.  Now I can only bring myself to watch bits and pieces.  Yet the geniuses at AFL HQ lead by Gill the dill can’t seem to see this.

    However I am not sure that the egg can be unbroken.

    Top grade soccer is looking quite attractive.

    There are too many issue with the rules and the people who govern it. I started watch nrl and have noticed that the refereeing is very simplistic. In soccer it is pretty straight forward. Shite I don’t understand union but it seems simple. AFL has got to fast all about how fast a kid can run so umpires can’t fully digest and there make assumptions on what has or will happen. It comes from the top.

    My over gripe is about commentating. Watch an nrl, World Cup epl game and listen to the commentating. Once again simple and straight to the point. No hyping of teams players etc.

    Another point, though I may get shot down is the AFLW. The AFL seem to think they are changing the world. Female sport ie soccer has been around a long time, has pathways and is professional in several countries already. Unfortunately the AFL is about stories and headlines. I predict Collingwood and Richmond will play in a flag as that is the story wanted this year.

    Unfortunately  the AFL has become a circus. It may be the last year my family renew memberships and we follow 4 different clubs. Feel by paying I contribute to the circus.

    Sorry for the rant but had to get off the chest !

    Jones said after the Bulldogs game that the players were tired and looking forward to a 9 day break. It appears the players then mentally checked out. Let’s hope the bye resets the players attitude.

    No doubt a big game and up till last week we would have all said dees. Do we rise to the occasion and show our metal or sink Iike we did last week.

    Dees by 13 points in a grinding game. Dyson best on ground and petty the rising star nominee .

    Love this optimism. Is the rest of the season our 'second chance'?

    Honestly no need to panic. We will make the 8 and don’t be surprised to see some big wins.

    I have been critical in the past but think the loss to Collingwood may be a blessing in disguise. I think the young lads will refresh over the break and be ready to create history. A top eight finish is all that is required this year.

    Forget this common sense and logic, Deelanders demand success now the fact the current build started in 2013 is irrelevant to them

    Haven't you heard

    54 years of mediocrity

    186 loss to the Cats

    Jones isn't a leader

    Toumpas over Wines

    Clarrie over Parish (after the Round 2, 2016 loss)

    Jetta was a dud and should have been delisted

    Omac. see above

    I could go on but those with some forsight can see the pieces coming together. No quick fix, still some bumps to come

    Yes Jetta a dud. All Australian squad last year and likely in all Australian team this year. If we had 27 other duds like him .......

    we are a better team than last year and these young guys will get better

    I know it is probably a bit early for this thread so feel free to keep venting, but I thought I would highlight the following for some perspective.

    Total games played:

    Oliver - 47

    Salem - 56

    Petracca - 50

    Hogan - 63

    Brayshaw - 45

    O Mac - 49

    Lever - 67

    Like it or not, the reality is these guys are inexperienced and will be inconsistent - aside from the freak that is Clarry.  We could fluke a flag in the next 2 years but going by past trends, we should be a consistent strong team from around 2 years time when our talented core is around 100 games.  Just look at our main consistent performers: Gawn (86 games), Jetta (128) and T Mac (133)

    Collingwood should be performing better, their best players are all in the sweet spot of experience and that experience showed yesterday.

    All is not lost, we just need to keep improving.  Beat port and get the season on track again.

    Fully agree. Speaking a hawks supporter who says d hawks at same stage we’re still getting panced weekly.

    The key for me is finding solid replacements for the older boys. Mature age types 24-27 to come in and take over from Vince etc.

    next year will be our year! As long as hogan stays. If not we will take freos 1st rounder 2nd rounder and a player of note.

    still think weeds can be the key forward!

    Afternoon fellow Demonlanders!

    With the bye well and truly upon us, and a poor performance in our back pocket alongside 6 rippers, it's time to reflect on where we are at.  Here are some questions that I thought might be worth answering and I'd be interested to see what people think.  Try and look at the season as a whole - it would be easy to let yesterday cloud our judgement, or even the six games before it, so take a deep breath and look at the whole 12 rounds so far.

    Here are the questions to answer:

    What do you rate our performance out of 10 to this point?  Why?

    Which player has impressed you the most?

    Which draftee has made the biggest impact?

    What has been our best win to date?

    Which player(s) needs to improve in the second half of the year?

    What has been our most disappointing performance?

    Where do you see us finishing?  Give a win/loss and finishing position

    Remember - it's your opinion, so knock yourself out.  Fancy us to still finish Top 2?  Reckon we'll fall at the last hurdle again?  Let us know.  Positive or negative I think it's a good time to reflect on the year so far, so if you have the time to answer the questions I think it would be great to see what everybody thinks.  Enjoy!

    Have a few stiff drinks, accept a shocking day and let’s reset!

    last I looked we’re still in the 8.

    Go Dees!

    Okay maybe have quite a few drinks!

    Goal this year is to make the 8 simple. Next year will be the year. With that on mind start playing weeds, petty, Baker.

    This will not be a fairy tale year but a year to build up to it .

    The loss we had to have?

    Was [censored] today but also think it has been a crazy 6 weeks. The break and a refresh will only help. I suspect a slight adjustment in game play and a realisation that their future is in their hands. Jetta is a bloody star. He is also very involved behind the scenes with his work with the indigenous.

    He is now my number one see!

  18. 20 scoring shots double ours. This game is so annoying. Sorry for rant but this was the one to take into the bye. So angry but I guess we will learn from it. No Jack watts today. Just 22 head down players letting some overrated team beat us !

    Collingwood way too quick. Real pity Hunt has gone backward and Frost hasn't come on.

    A sad day and a reminder of why we will struggle to make the eight let alone gone to the following week. I hate Campbell brown but he was right. The bubble has burst. We are the bitcoin of the AFL. Over inflated and due for a crash. We may lose by 10 goals. No [censored] off.
