  1. Should have played more games last year and could have helped change the dynamic of games when he went into the midfield. As to why he came over, my guess is apart from a good environment and chance to play finals, I suspect we paid him well compared to others. Preuss I suspect was the same.

I know the example is hypothetical but the number of 'additional' memberships from that source(s) are so few that the impact on membership numbers is negligible.

l bought 5 × 13 Clayton Oliver memberships with a couple of games left in the season

    Well said Jaded.
If you go back to Gary Pert’s podcast interview on DL back in March ‘21 he clearly states that, because it’s a Government led process, “we are not in a position to be able to give a running commentary on the progress of our home base, as much as it frustrates me to not be able to do so”. He also states that “ it will be our home base for the next 40-100 years; we will get there and it will be worth the wait”.

The problem with that quote from Pert, is that it is a similar sentiment that was communicated by past administrations that have used it as cover for SFA progress and doesn't hold anyone to account. Daisy said it herself that the current situation made recruiting and training less than ideal ... l believe her

Kate Roffey did an interview on SEN this morning and the last question she was asked was about the progress of a new training facility, her response was something about the challenge is trying to find a patch of grass in the city area. It sounded to me we were back at square one.

For Kate to appear in the media we must have won something again ... its all about you Kate,

“I think I slept seven years’ worth of relief last night,” Roffey joked on SEN Breakfast.

“I’ve been working closely with them for seven year"

This is after taking credit for the support she gave goody after the AFL GF the year before

  5. No developing talls please, they will take 5 years before they are ready and our time is now. There are a number of tall forward and back free agents coming up. l would be going after another small forward to help kozzie and cover for the significant hole he leaves in our list if he leaves. Small forwards also contribute and develop quicker. Jacob Konstanty sounds like someone that has some goal sense and can tackle. Also has some upside given his only recent return to footy.

  6. We have an over reliance on tmac who got injured mid way, and with jacko not firing, and BBB forced to do uncustomary bullocking work, our kicks long to the wings and the forward pockets to relieve pressure and reset were ineffective. Our problems stem from this, and we need a plan b in case of injuries to talls happen again or a funamental change in approach that is less focused on talls

Watts also got drafted just as the forward press, compression of play and increased congestion started to become a feature of the game.

Winning your own ball whilst having a good tank became more important than ever (in all areas of the field). I don’t think we took that into consideration when drafting in that period. To make it, Watts was up against it in more ways than one.

Your being generous ... Nik Nat isn't exactly an aerobic specimen

People forget he is an underage player I remember when a young skinny Watts came to the club and the coach thru him under the bus.

Watts playing too early is one of the biggest mfc myths of recent times ... played vfl until warrented ... he was just not competitive and a touch soft ... note that its pretty common for pick 1 to play round 1 if injuries don't stop them but we didn't

That also means there’s 20 people to blame if a candidate starts spamming us with mail, emails or otherwise. A handy level of protection for everyone no matter which side of the privacy vs open democracy you fall on.

You could buy 2 memberships for your dog and cat and endorse yourself.

Or 20 $13 Clayton Oliver memberships

    So club email advises:

In response to the proposed amendments to the constitution, the Club received a written request from the relevant member to access the Club's members register. The Club is required under the Corporations Act to provide your name and postal address to the member.

An application has now been made to the Supreme Court of Victoria, by the same member, seeking access to additional member information, including email addresses.

The Club is committed to protecting your privacy and is contesting this application. We have engaged legal counsel to appear in court today on behalf of the Club and will do everything we can legally to limit access to the personal information.

So Corporations Act require postal address (in many cases no doubt a residential address) but club committed to protecting privacy by not sharing email addresses 🤷‍♂️

Clearly an attempt to prevent timely communications to member base....

Significant difference in costs for email vs post especially if you plan more than 1 communication which I suspect is true

  11. Great the club has locked away the talent and we don't have anyone significant at risk .

I think the priority would be looking for KPP's.

Of those listed, Ben McKay would be handy and free up Petty. Might also be able to go forward himself.

Hipwood would also help by going forward allowing us to play with 3 key tall's including the resting ruck man.

Himmelberg would be the other possibility and seems to have got a fair bit of the pill going by the stats. I think he can play at either end also

McGovern might want to get to a team in the premiership window in his older years.

I'm quite optimistic about this one, i've always rated his talent, a bit like Weid he's not quite been able to really lock down a spot, but i think he can really take a step at the Dees and be a best 22 player.

I'm more hopeful than optimistic ...

  13. Can we shoe horn a new item into the Special General Meeting about the constitution, in that every 3 months the club needs to provide an update to members on the training / social / admin facility and share their current plans? Not likely l know, but seriously poor to keep us all guessing. I guess if they had positive progress then they would have shared it atleast some of it
