  1. If there is one thing you can't teach a player, it's being able to read and understand the play. He constantly runs to the right position and he has pace, and I could snap him like a twig.

Exactly! It's his first year at AFL level, and already he's showing that he has the nous and smarts to match it with the best. What is really letting him down at the moment is his body size, which I reckon means he has to pull out of some contests or whatever and that has hurt his confidence to the point where it has affected his disposal.

  2. If Juice played the game Miller did, people would be all over it calling him the next Wayne Carey.

Miller had a very good, productive game yesterday. His kicking was spot on, and he took some good grabs. His form this year has been much improved and he deserves a lot of recognition for turning his fortunes around, as does Bailey.

I agree Jaded. Now all we need is someone to help him out with the scoreboard...

  3. another thing that got me was the snipe about melbourne fans not showing up to support the side.

    a) it was a richmond home match

    b ) it was a telstra dome

    c) it was the worst possible time for anyone to ever watch a game of football.

i dont get it i really dont. if the afl scheduled these games so that the tv could run one game into another, fine at least they are trying to make money somehow. but the game wasnt on tv. so it appears that the afl scheduled that game at that time to be awkward. it is like they were trying to reduce attendences.

if richmond v mfc was played on sat arvo at the g, or fri night at the g it would have got excess of 40K.

The same thing struck me as odd as well deanox. What is to be expected of a match between 12th and 16th at what is essentially a neutral ground at the worst timeslot of the weekend? I would say that Richmond supporters were more at fault than Melbourne supporters considering Richmond members could have actually got in.

  4. Not a bad job by Dunn on Foley today.

I didn't think it would be a good matchup due to the size differnce but Dunn definitely limited his effectiveness.

Over time i think he will learn to win a bit more ball and know when to hurt his player going the other way.

I agree, I think even though Foley had 16 disposals he wasn't too damaging. If Dunn can learn how to be attacking as well as negating his opponent (which I think he is capable of) then he'll be a handy tagger, but I don't know whether the coaches will have the faith in him.

  5. agree. My main concern with the game was the form of morton. I know hes young but i thought he was touted as having good disposal and decision making?

Yeah I agree, I reckon he shouldn't go to Canberra next week. Give him and maybe Wonna a rest, let's be honest, we're not going to beat Sydney and these two definitely could use a rest.

  6. harsh on silvia, i actually thought he made a very good contribution and used the ball particularly well.

Really? Well I was only listening on radio but he got about 15 disposals and didn't seem to have much influence but if you saw him then fair enough. Did he play forward, because he didn't score?

  7. Richo's a gun, he proves to be the difference so be it. But otherwise, we have a list that can stick it with Richmond, and will be better, and with good leadership i think we can beat them. The players stood up that quarter, played their own type of footy, and that's what happens. Win or lose, they must do it his quarter

Well to be optimistic, Richmond kicked 8 of their 13 goals in 10 minutes, so for the rest of the game they haven't been that good. If we continue like we did in the 3rd then we must be in with a chance
