I think the AFL should put a date mid season for contract renewals, for eg by the end of round 11 a player must sign up if he intends to stay on. By then players, managers, clubs know how they're tracking for that year anyway and takes pressure off both player and club. If they don't re-sign then they're on the way out and clubs can then plan. I don't know, something like that I reckon may work. As it is, players are bending clubs over.

At first I thought it was a bit 50/50 but it makes sense, puts pressure on spots and who knows, he may be better than all of them. His goalkicking is also much sharper than Weids and as you say Hogan could end up at Freo, Weids could flop or go to Coll and Pedersen will most likely retire. I'm all for it. I have no issues getting Lever, he is 10 year star, just thought we could of used next years first pick on a ready to go mid like Gaff or similar, that's my only issue, considering we held the cards. Lever is a boss.
