He signed a 2 year contract taking him until the end of 2019 with us paying 15% of his salary in the first year IIRC.
Another way to look at that is, if PJ is the best, then everyone else is behind/below him, Pert is the best of that bunch. PJ is leaving so we had to choose someone and this guy is next best, it's all we can do.

Experienced, on track, need training facilities and follow through. While the club said they wanted to promote from within, I think this is the best move, the other candidates are inexperienced for this role IMO. Give them a pay rise to keep them happy, if Mahoney wants CEO role it would be good for him to be mentored by another experienced bloke anyway. Validated by AFL also.

This thread has gone so far off topic it has become ridiculous.
Not for me.
He's never been a midfielder since U18's, he's a wing/flanker and always will be. Has missed so much footy it will have affected his tank. Good luck trying to get a game in an AFL midfield, maybe GC or STK are the only two desperate enough but he'll never get on the park unfortunately for us or anyone else.

I think we should be targeting players like Kelly, Polec, Burgoyne, Impey, Isaac Smith, Cameron, Stephenson type players. Unsure who's out there and on the market, will brainstorm later tonight.
Malcolm Blight gave Jack a spray. Said he needs energy pills and effort etc. Reckons he could slip out of the game if he can't find the effort. (or similar words)
