  1. You honestly wonder if it is worth it sometimes. Another chapter written last night in "Melbourne's Great Losses". Maybe I invest too much, but my Saturday night was [censored], and my Sunday isn't looking much better.

Tyson stays as Viney's relacement. As long as he plays inside, that is fine by me. JKH, sorry mate, but you are done. Vanders in for him if he is holding up ok. Will never happen as he has a golden ticket, but I would bring Kielty in for OMac as well.
  3. Rumours are Stephen May is gettable. He would be my number 1 priority. We need someone to mind gorilla forwards, and while OMac has improved, if he is playing on the likes of Hawkins, we are no chance.
  4. JKHs best game was an intra club in his first year,go figure.
  5. Percentage still looks good... kill me
  6. I'm waiting for my big offer from North soon, they've tried everyone else. Of course I'll turn them down as well.
  7. Love the resolve of this side, they just keep finding ways to win.
  8. If all those players walked into the MFC of today as 18 year olds, and had a good run of injury, I think Tapscott and Grimes would carve out respectable careers. Grimes never regained his composure after a few head knocks imo. Tapscott had some good traits but was ultimately slow and undurable.
  9. We have a long way to go still as a club, but after years at the very bottom, it's great to grab a bucket of popcorn and watch Carlton implode. Everyone is starting to get very protective of their patch and there are attacks coming left, right and centre. Great to see.
  10. I urge all MFC supporters to attend this game, as it's a massively important game in our season. And I think we can handle a few old ducks knitting scarves, even if they have been drinking all arvo.
  11. 78 inside 50s to 28! Surely that is some sort of record. We are continually dominating inside 50s, and while we controlled last night's game and it was a good win, it didn't really answer the questions around the efficiency of our game plan, with Freo scoring from half of their inside 50s. That's what I want to see corrected before I will be confident going into games against decent sides.
  12. We really could have won that by 100+, absolutely battered them, but just happy with a win and a good performance at this stage. I want it known on record that I am a Frost fan. If he can just keep it simple, his speed is an absolute asset in defence. I am not convinced by Stretch, but I thought he was great last night, and given he is such a good runner and just an all round disciplined player, I think he could be important in our team defence, considering how easily we can be carved up going the other way.
  13. He has been good this year tbh, although his lack of discipline for a player of his experience is unforgivable. It potentially cost us 4 points in round 1, and he still hasn't learnt.
  14. I couldn't agree any less on the first part. Those little handballs in close to get out of congestion are so important in today's game. And as for his kicking, I must be watching a different game to other Melbourne supporters. Jones was a bomb it long kick in his early days, but he has improved it so much over the years to the point he is actually one of our best kicks. Even Roos said he believed Jones was the best kick in the side.
  15. Goodwin's game plan is definitely not suited to the G, and I am yet to see any evidence that he has any ideas on how to fix it either, which is the most concerning part.
  16. Haha, go have a lie down. What a ridiculous post.
  17. Jones played a much more consistent game than Viney today, and is one of only a couple of our players who can lower his eyes and hit a target inside 50. Viney was completely absent until the last quarter, but it was too little too late. Odd timing for this thread.
  18. 6 - Gawn 5 - Gawn 4 - Gawn 3 - Fritsch 2 - Harmes 1 - Gawn
  19. That late comeback only came about because St Kilda's run stopped and they went more conservative which played into our hands. In no way did we deserve to win this game. Get ready to hear about all the great lessons learnt this week. I think I'll spew.
  20. I've raised concerns about our game plan since the first half against Geelong in round 1, and it has not improved. Inefficient and congested going forward. Open players everywhere when defending.
  21. I have been desperate for Garlett and Hunt to excel in the VFL, as their speed is needed. One is injured and the other doesn't seem to have fired a shot. I wonder if it will get to the stage where Goodwin just has to roll the dice on Garlett.

Umpires are always [censored]. We got our fair share as well, particularly early. We should have won the game regardless of umpiring, it's nothing but deflection.
  23. Fair. Around the ball, Viney, Oliver, Jones and Brayshaw were on top most of the game, but our forward line was dysfunctional unfortunately,
  24. Of course not the only one. My concern is he is so important to our structure, and we need him clunking those 2 or 3 big marks a game. But he seems to be skirting packs like he is 5 foot 9 and 70kgs. He needs a bit of a reset I think.
