  1. Watched the game late last night. It didn't seem like we completely dominated the match but somehow we just kept punching more goals through all arvo. So good to see a Dees team make the most of every forward entry. I also watched their body language closely after goals and stoppages, there's a real connection and dare I say it love for each other in that team. This is an incredible start to the season considering the personnel we have out of the team. Fingers crossed for Liv. She's been through the wringer. I love watching this team
  2. I did a rewind on that, he was actually tunnelled by Petty as a Collingwood player had shoved Petty fair in the back in the marking contest. The hands in the back legalisation is making this practice incredibly dangerous and has the potential to see someone end up with a broken neck. Collingwood player that caused it. So nothing to see here
  3. I'm not feeling very Buckley tonight
  4. They are handing us this game. For FFS boys grab it with both hands. It will be a horrible loss to lose from here. Our poor kicking at goal is what usually ruins us! Take them by the scruff of the neck and have a ton of beer tonight boys.
  5. He'll be our captain one day. Extraordinary first year
  6. Well that was a dead set goal we just got robbed of
  7. What's the maggot gauge?
  8. I don't think thought is a factor
  9. We'll win this
  10. Quay or tried to kick him in the cruits and won a free for the effort
  11. Yep he sure did
  12. Haha, Deetime was incredibly close then. We seem to be playing with a bit more freedom tonight (but not skill). It is better to watch us take the game on. Forwards are sticking marks too which is great to see
  13. He hasn't been right for two years. Disco and TMAC are our backbone now. Great snap Roo
  14. Just thinking the same thing. All the talk of revenge since that night in 2023. Didn't happen that night and we've lost the the three times we played them after that. We have the perfect opportunity to hurt them without having to belt the brick with eyes and lose someone for six weeks. Selection suggests we're not interested in running it out on a high and giving the opportunity for some youngsters from Casey a chance in front of a big crowd. No changes at selection sums up the season. Hope I'm pleasantly surprised and we beat the bastards by a point
  15. This comment made me think of the incredible Nev Jetta. A second tier player that just made himself indispensable and one of my all time favourites. Solid as a rock. He's development coach at the pies. I reckon he'd be an awesome replacement for Chocco. That would be an awesome steal to get him back in some capacity
  16. They're a joy to watch and follow their progression. That was a fantastic win last night beating a solid team with a stack of key personnel out for us. I've said it before but I think the club is nuts not using Mick Stinnear to work with the blokes as well. The women just play for each other. Their culture and passion they show is just fantastic. It's Something that's faded a lot since 2021 for the men. He also seems to be a great GameDay coach. I'd love to see the new mens coach get him in to be part of the men's coaching team at least on a part time basis.
  17. Is it too early to sub May off? Get Macca on him
  18. It is from ancient times. Usually only spoken of in footy folklore Geez May is copping a pasting so far
  19. Beautiful drop punt by Petty
  20. Coming from a village in thenorthern Rivers NSW and seeing over half our town go under fort the first time ever, the majority of people flooded got royally screwed around. One of our friends who got flooded were told by her insurance company to stump up the $5k excess before they would even send an assessor out. We had no internet or proper phone coverage to even get the money to them but they still refused to lodge the claim. Her and her son's just had a few bags of clothes. 3 years to get things rebuilt. Luck you're with xxxx They're all the same though
  21. Yeah, that was a great watch
  22. I guess it's pretty obvious it's all about viewers not fans attending games anymore It's rubbish. It's lazy. It's ignorant. It's idiotic. Almost like they're setting the women up to fail. I love watching the girls play even though the game is played differently. The AFL keep treating football as a product to sell
  23. Yep, I'm with ya DD. And I get the tactic of wide kickouts from the goal square into the flanks to negate risk. That's playing the percentages but yeah, I think our hand and footskills have erroded and so has our player's confidence to thread the needle and take the game on. Disco would normally be a great rebounder, our last quarter and going into our shells really cost us dearly against the saints. We've got a pretty solid list, I'm loving the idea of watching our team take the game on next year. In the words of the wonderful band Cable Ties - And it might be hopeless but I've gotta try it It's better than lying down and bringing on our fate
  24. I wonder too if the habit of leading through the centre square has been drilled out of them. I.e. why bother calling for it in the middle. We are a predictable hug the boundary line team as we leave defence almost always. The only time we went hard and fast was off turnovers off half back which was great to see. Apart from using turnover opportunities, we just don't seem to use the centre corridor much at all. Looking forward to a new coaching group
  25. This is one of the pieces that does my head in. Salem, sublime user of the ball but not so much anymore. Windsor was pretty good last year but not so much anymore. Viney used to be woeful, then learnt to lower his eyes about 3 or 4 seasons ago and is now terrible again. I still feel like we've let stands and skills slip over the last two years. Great game, great to see the effort and some more switching up today and faster movement for a good portion of the game. Our list isn't too bad. Our skills are generally deplorable. Way too many turnovers
