  1. Props for this clubs recruiting.
  2. Heres hoping the umpires dont get an early jump on us?
  3. I think this will happen this weekend as he can play as a medium tall fwd until brown or weid is available.
  4. Off topic I know but... Wondering how hoth brown and weid fit in. Does Tmac come out? What if hes going gangbusters. Does Fritta go to the wing? Will Jackson get dropped? Its going to be very interesting as surely having them both in is the ideal.
  5. If this game was on 2 years ago I would argue it hinged on the 2 Toms Tom h seems to be having less impact and Im certain May will get the chocolates. Tom m was instrumental in our 1st to wins but bought liitle against the giants. Last week showed we dont rely on key players as much as we used too and I think the cats do. No dangerfield. Tag Oliver and jv rocks up. Crowd our talls out and Kozzie kicks 4. May gets beaten by toby.g but Hunt has a ripper. Trac looked quiet but Gawn pops up with 9 marks and 21 touches. I wouldnt be surprised if Jones had a big game this weekend and Anb featured in the top votes.
  6. Oh stats. Could he have been sharper? No doubt about it. Was he one of our best. No doubt about it. Games and players are different each week. It depends on how much pressure is exerted... If hes being targeted....how much running hes done.....if its early in the season...what his teamates are doing.. Besides you can only have 9 clangers if you get 30 touches? As for Gawn...BOG last week.
  7. Yep Oliver was well tagged and at times missed targets. Especially easy shots at goal. However ..Gawn was supreme. Took nine marks, dominated the ruck and gathered 21 possies. Sure he missed an easy said shot but made up with 2 other goals...one a great snap from almost 45m. His skills helped other score involvements. His defensive efforts were stong. Could not have played better FT. Trac was brilliant against the saints and as for execution of skills could not have done better.
  8. It will be good to see b.b in a melbourne colours.
  9. We seem to have more players each week putting their hand up for votes. Not a team looking for a knockout effort from a single player like toby.g. or dusty or ha ...danger. Maybe this week it will be Jones and Jetta amongst the tally.
  10. Lots of conflict here. Cant argue against Jets lack of form but as people have argued Hibberd isnt like for like. Sparrow for Melk is interesting but unlike Hibberd, melk does not imho have the credits in the bank. Will Melk add more firepower to our fwd line? Possibly, but not convinvced. I think if in doubt, leave them out. No change. Sorry Hibberd.
  11. The umpiring in the first half of our saints match was deplorable. Strange how it evened up though.
  12. Good point. He could have easily kicked 3 goals which he normally would have (i think he has been a very reliable kick in the past ) in a short ammount of time. Good coaching signs.
  13. Feel sorry for the oppos backline.
  14. Please dont let the media talk us up. Its a conspiracy. Works all the time.? Media ban for all players to be enforced asap.
  15. Great post Chf. Im not worried about our backline. It will stand up. Jetta will finally show us why hes still there. If Hunt can surprise us then... May and co will keep performing. Especially Rivers. Not worried about the midfield either. I doubt you can keep both Trac and Oliver from their best 2 games in a row. Besides Jv is hitting his strides. Maybe Anb gets rotated. Hes playing his best footy. Will our fotwards kick a big score? Kozzie cant do it all. Tmac will have to stand up. Fritta to continue his form. Gawn more time in the forward line. Spargo hopefully with 2 or 3. Jones a little time there as well and we should be alright. Besides it aint kardinia park its our home ground. The space will help us. Dees by 5 goals.
  16. So you have marked him down for 8 in game 4. No problem.?
  17. Now to be replaced with the joyful exclamation of.... PICKETT!
  18. And it was clever as it suited toby g style of play...especially againsy May.
  19. Well called Andre the giant could not have marked in those conditions. I think gws had 14 players inside our fwd 50 in the first. He improved later on in other parts of the ground. Im not convinced we would have won the other games without him. I also think Tommy is a confidence player and needs to get involved early on to keep him going mentally. I may be wrong but he appeared down on himself after the game. He has the skills and has proved beyond doubt in the 1st 2 games he has not lost them. Perhaps start him on the wing and move him to full fwd in the 2nd.
  20. Wow. What a game this is. A chance to be 4 zip. Lets face it the Cats are ripe for the taking. Boy no Dangerfield makes a big difference. Is hawkins who has always hurt us losing his edge. Will May nullify him? 1 more minute of play and hawks would have gone home with the Easter eggs. My concern is Jettas lack of form. I miss Hibberd. Has been a champion for us. But I guess its not a like for like swap. I really want Jets to turn things around because he has been one of our greatest players. Sparrow is the only other question mark. I have no clue though because I would have dropped Hunt after round one and thought Goody was poor playing him as a defender. We are 3 zip .....the club will make the right call and I think they will leave things be.
  21. Last 2 years have highlighted our dysfunctional forward line especially our lack of crumbers. Aside from the love for Kozzie, Anb and Spargo are starting to make a significant contribution especially their tackling. Anbs first goal was a ripper. Spargo works very hard.
  22. He will but sometimes players gain strength by bulking up in the gym and lose a little of tgeir speed and tank. Its great to have him in patches in the midfield but the forward line is his true possie. His uncanny sense of where the posts are, his ability to quickly turn and kick and his not going to ground or if he does he gets up quickly and acceleration make him the perfect small forward.
