  1. Not to have a dig but sadly I thought Milks finals performances last year were well below adequate. I will say that two of of his last three games have been outstanding. If he continues he's certainly going to play finals again. I hope he does. It also means he will play alongside Fritta who is always going to come back in if fit. It will make for an interesting fwd line. Melkshams marking and boundary goals have been a highlight for me and he seems to have found some of that pace he displayed when first playing for us. Love his goal celebrations too.
  2. Given the lions form at the G, I understand the 7 Dollars fifty but don't get that they are on similar odds to port. Also port have been a clear contender all year. I would have us at this stage on equal chances as power. I guess after this weekend we are a strong chance to finish on second spot this weekend with another's game results falling our way. That said, does our clear shorter odds aa second flag faves mean agencies see us being in second spot at the end of h and a? Do other factors like finals experience come into play ? Do port struggle playing interstate as well? Thanks SD. Maybe the fact that we have beaten the pies puts us in good stead. Ps. I dread the push from istate clubs to host a granny at home. I'm sure it's coming. The covid Gf shifts have probably set a precedent. I hope it remains where it .... .at our home ground.😀
  3. My goodness. No club has classier supporters than the Mfc. It's well established. I mean where else do footy threads end up being about wine and whiskey?
  4. I do feel sorry for Grundy. He's a talented player but now looking at the experience in a whole new light one does start to wonder what the club was doing. I mean Max is probably one of the greatest rucks to play the game. Why were we trying to limit his time in this role? I get he's not a young player anymore but neither is Grundy. Maybe it was a good move in terms of an immediate back up rman which fortunately worked when Max went down. And maybe it's been a good move in that it hasn't really cost us an arm and a leg. But seeing Max play the way he has lately, it does start to seem that it wasn't fully thought through. I don't think Grundy will play again this year which leads to the probability the bloke would understandably seek opportunity elsewhere.
  5. The bonus % would be nice and may elevate us to second
  6. It's an effort to placate egos and try to maintain morale.
  7. I think we beat them psychologically as well.
  8. Probably have to catch up with my local parish priest for confession after support for the cats tonight. Oh well, one does what one must.
  9. It's really interesting to me that we are in fourth spot but according to every betting site I've checked, we are second faves to win the flag. After the tigers win we are at 4.75 after pies at 2.50. Port @ 7 and lions@ 7.50. Form is obviously the driver for this recent odds renewal. We firmed up after kicking 130 points. I think they have agreed that we now have a dangerous fwd line and two of the comps best players in Fritta and Oliver to soon return.
  10. Credit to the tigers midfield. The ball was coming into our backline at breakneck speed and made it super hard to defend.
  11. Mcvee has been given some of the comps incredible talents to play against. He's bound to beaten now and then. Given his age and experience, he's done a great job. I'm sure he will rightly continue with the clubs confidence and faith. I'd like to see Hibbo play but there's really no room for him . I think Smith will be sub again.

  13. I'd say that's safe.
  14. Tigers probably tired from last Sunday
  15. Retro round.....a couple of beers and a durry at half time.
  16. Do footy players go through some media training that make them inclined or contracted to use the word obviously?
  17. Thanks very much SFebes. Looking forward to it.
  18. Do we have any clearer news about Oliver's return as of yet?
  19. Tommos been gettng some good opponents.
  20. Rightly so Uncle. No dusty no tigers.
  21. I thought resting Max was a good idea too. But then I thought Max is a confidence player. This has become more evident by his drop on form on sharing his role with Grundy. Perhaps breaking his great form and momentum may be detrimental. Jvr probably to take on a little more ruck.
  22. I think Sparrow is the obvious choice to replace Woey. Taj has been good and glad the club has given him time but he's on the cusp of best 22 for me. I thought the club would play Grundy so Max gets to play about 75% bit wondering now if Jvr plays more ruck. Ideally I would love Hibbo to play but can't work out who gets dropped for him.
  23. Credit to Goody for revisiting the Petty asa forward experience. I thought it was done and dusted and couldn't work out why he supposedly chucked it in. I Guess Tommos good form gave him some freedom to try once more. So glad he did. I think Petty has returned to his proper position.
