  1. I think it's more an indication of the readership. The writers can't be smarter than it's buyers. I'm sure you just borrowed a friend's or inadvertently clicked on the wrong link so all good here.
  2. Given our lack of tall feds who can take a mark in a pack, our bombing it in was just a complete waste.
  3. I don't thinks so only by the unfortunate stat that we have started poorly in quite a few others. I admire our fight backs but it's frustrating that we are putting ourselves in these positions. But kudos for attempting to explain them. It's quite strange.
  4. Or if Jack Viney was visiting at the same time.
  5. I wonder if a Maynard throwing his arms up while he jumped forward help propel him even higher. The more I watch the footage the more I ask, how could have Maynard not have thought he would collide with poor Gus? The intent for some impact was certainly there. Since he's fluffed the truth once, I'm not sure he even cared about the smother. If the Afl doesn't stop this act with a hefty penalty, we will see plenty more " smothering" in the game and lots of careers jeopardized.
  6. If one team is a player down, it does even the playing field. Not in this case but yea it's not like umps don't get it wrong sometimes.
  7. It's surprising that you haven't given it was a' footy act" Can't wait to hear some more garbage from pundits when he's deservedly suspended.
  8. The fact we played so poorly at times with a good player down and almost won really hurts. Pies were average and we kinda of let them into a prelim.
  9. My goodness, I think I would almost sacrifice my first born for another crack at the Pies. Shes lucky shes a Dees fan. They were so lucky to win. We were a good player down and subbed in a young kid with 5games. We played half a game and only just lost. By errant kicking too. No ways pies are better than us. The lions not being able to win at tge G wouldn't have been a threat. We were so close. This loss really hurts.
  10. We burnt our fwds so many times with poor entries ie just bombing it in. Was this a tatic and if so why?
  11. If it happens and Maynard's playing, he'll wish he wasn't.
  12. The Pies supporters booing while Fritta had a free on goal really made me angry. Wouldn't even acknowledge that. They really are a sub species of mankind.
  13. Those things among other Thai souvenirs can linger.😃
  14. You've been strangely quiet Uncle. Still reeling from the loss?
  15. I'd love to win this although I don't think many of us can see a win at the Gabba a week later. Just couldn't take being bundled out by the filth and then this mob. There are limits fgs.
  16. I'm sorry you feel that way. You obviously see the situation differently to many here. But I think any negativity you received be looked at with the same rationality that you feel you have applied to this incident. This is a Dees fan forum who most are closing ranks against a substantial ammount of noise out there. So its fair to assume some backlash . It's wrong if it's been personal but passions are understandably high, given there are more than enough defending Maynard already.
  17. Dangers the "best".... “There's nothing in this for me. Unfortunately in this game, there’s contact that occurs. He can’t protect himself in that position either (Maynard). He’s at the mercy of the oncoming player.” To turn this around and have Gus who has the ball and playing the game as the oncoming traffic is wrong. It was Maynard who initiated the collision and akin to arguing that some bloke who veers across the wrong side of the road is a victim of the oncoming cars.
  18. These violent delights have violent ends.
  19. This from Sen... " Nathan Buckley does not believe that Brayden Maynard could have done anything else in his power to avoid contact with Angus Brayshaw last Thursday ". This is why he needs to be punished. It was a ludicrous and careless position to put Gus in. It was a deliberate decision that only had one outcome. He knew the contact with Gus would come and worsened by Maybard tucking in. Maybe he could have elected not to go full tilt at the bloke playing the game in the first instance.
  20. I think the intent was there. Maynard's history and the fact it happened early. But agree the intent is a moot point. An experienced player would know a collision was inevitable going at that speed and height. It must be a mandatory 4 weeks with that impact. There must be a deterrent penalty otherwise this hit or footy act clause could be employed every week and we are back to square one protecting the head and neck.
  21. Bloody hell, I thought the lions port game was today. Oh well no surprises with the result.
  22. Funny, I have the same feeling. Why? It's cfc. Media want them up and winning. $$$. Will set a horrible precedent and fly in the face of everything the Afl says it cares about.
  23. Still may happen. If it does it would be the best flag ever. Especially with Maynard watching from the sidelines. But yea, if Gus wasn't knocked out we probably would be in a prelim.
