GAMEDAY: Rd 12 vs Brisbane
leave it to deever replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yes indeedy. He is a one man game changer and keeps getting better in every quarter. I always expected Tracca to be the most dominant player but its Clayton by a long way. -

Very interestimg Stats Grimey (if I may) They have some fwd firepower so lets hope we do as you say ...what we normally do and strangle their scoring. On top of this we have not really been able to score as high as them. But we do have some significant firepower of our own in Tom and Fritta. If Sam and Kozzie and Spargo and Nibbler and Melk and Jackson can fire we could be the ones. kicking 100 plus. -

Im waiting for kozzie to tear a game apart. He has the skills. He is a star in the making. Maybe he will do it tonight. Go Dees. -
I think I prefer Bb but the club has done the right thing giving Sam W another game.
-
A lot of folks had Fritta on the outer as well. So much improvement from so many.
-
I wish it were Sparrow on wing and JJ stays put.
-
Hes also under tons of pressure for his spot in the side. Always has been. Bound to play a part in his performance. Some players are gifted games and Im not saying Sam has been great but I feel a lot of its just confidence or lack of thereof. Ps I was watching the relpay while writing all this. Sam should have marked that pass from Spargo with four mins to go in the first. It was not hard.

Are there any Demonlanders living in Wollongong? Its sad to say I was excted to talk to a real estate agent the otger day about footy even if he did follow the tigers.
-
Im glad i can drive from Northern illawarra and get to see a game for once.
-
Win this game and there can be no doubt whatsoever that we are going to be hardpressed not to be faves to win the flag if we are not already. I would like to see us win by a at least eight goals and serve extra notice to all that this club is in a different class to all the others. If Bb or Sw can step up and cement a spot by kicking at least thrre goals a game it will make big difference.

Eight Dees in Robbo's All-Australian team
leave it to deever replied to M_9's topic in Melbourne Demons
Great call by Robbo. Langdon gets little recognition. And Trac is so often rated as better than Trac but I believe Oliver is one of the greatest mids around and is getting better each season. When Kozzie and Jackson reach their peak which will be earlier than most this team will dazzle even more. I do think Vineys foot issue is a big challenge and whike Harmes has done a great job, Id love to see the club spend as much as they can for a proven mid not just for insurance but Viney yhe poor bloke could have this issue for a few seasons. Its not a small thing apparently. Its gone from a few weeks to four and maybe six to eight. I feel sorry for Him. He competes so hard and a pasdionate Demon with a great heritsge. -
Im not convinced Jones can play the wing. Might be a good optuon down back but I dont think he would have the necessary tank for wing. Certaiy cant move Rivers although he would be perfect in the role. The guys is a gun in the making. If not Hunt how about Sparrow?
-
I think Hunt to the wing is certaiy the best call as many have mentioned. Is he is our fasted player. Despite some great games and form reversal, he has been pretty ordinary in his last few games. A run on the wing could do wonders for his confidence and his speed a huge advantage in that position. I thought Jones could play back but t woulf be wise to bring in some young player and get games into them.

So frustrating wkth the possibilty of future games possibly not played at the Mcg. Apart from the enjoyment people will miss, I do believe the Mcg suits our game more than so many other teams. With our elite fitness we enjoy the space and use it to our advavtage runnimg teams oit of energy. Also miss the crowd advantage against interstate teams which is such a huge facor in their wins at home. Apologies if this sounds insenitive to the whole situation but I needed to vent. Its our closest shot to a flag for a long time and its being hampered by this horrible pandemic. The city Melbourne has suffered the most under covid lockdowns so lets hope its Afl namesake brings home the cup.

Same but given the length of time the G we deserve the G.

PODCAST: Rd 11 vs Western Bulldogs LIVE @ 8:30pm (31/5)
leave it to deever replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
We are controlling ball movement a lot more then we before. Games are less manic. So many pinpoint 15m chips out of pressure situations. And when we pull the trigger its thought through compared to those old long random bombs into the fwd line We are slowing down our oppositions' movement and they are struggling to get quick inside fifties. Might not always be as exciting to watch with us scoring less goals but it will sure increase the longevity of most Demonlanders. -

Was thinking about our forward line compared to our last best season in 2018. We used to score much higher.. Tom Mac 50 Hogan 48 Melksham 32 Nibbler 27 Hannan 22 Trac 19 Watts Garlett Fritz 18 Jones Gus Max Spargo Oliver 14 Thats a lot of high goal scoring. Surprised by Anbs and Melkshams. Great improvement from Fritta. Trac is down. I know our defence is keeping sides from scoring but I would love us to boot more goals. This year we have Tmac and Fritta tracking really well but we need a few more to impact. Kozzies been good but Im not sure who else is going to dominate. Maybe Spargo and Anb. Would be great if Sam or Bb would step up so as to not have our backline work so hard all the time. -
When we got Lever he was up and down. I remember an Nt game where he showed us what he could really do with his intercept marking. He fell away again for a while. Now he is a rock of consistency. I dont know how he does it but he just reads the play so well and gets in position very quickly to nullify teams forward entries. Its like his opponents need to man up on him. Its great to see so many players doing what they were recruited and trained for and on such a reguliar basis. Keep it up Jake.
-
Makes sense. Hunt to wing and Jones in backline. And yes Sam gets another shot.
-
I love your passion for the club. You are a great supporter Ernest.
-
Another midfielder would be handy. Viney is in doubt and I would hate to have another injured.
-
The club has done well with thus group. Great stuff. Although your being generous with Sam W .. he turns 24 in a few weeks.
-
Without seeing the other votes I wonder who are our next best. I would put Langdon May Fritta Rivers Im surprised Langdon isnt in the group mentioned. Really flying under the attention of most. A big factor in our ten one ratio.

Hope so.
