  1. Dont recall saying he did but I think he will given the opportunity. But i do think he was very good in the limited games he played. I trust the clubs judgement but I he was more than just an interceptor. Your wish of good luck followed by your assumption he will finish in the vfl sounds rather disengenious to a young kid battling bad injuries. Best of lucky Marty. Tx for your efforts.
  2. Most of our third quarters have been very good. The one thing that stood out early this season was us never giving up.
  3. Its fair to say many of the players were driven by the drought factor and fanbase. Will we be as hungry now its broken? Perhaps a g final at the mcg will be a factor. In terms of talent I cant see us beaten....it will simply be a question of injuries and motivation. Im certainly looking forward to next season. It will be very exciting to see the young ones improve.
  4. Plus it wont be long until Toby g gets a season long suspension. I guess they are a good club with lots of depth and I would be surprised if they didnt improve but So will we.
  5. I thought his kick to Bbb early in the last was a great sign of maturity in that he could have blazed away at the goals. Also a very strong player.
  6. Agreed. I think this bloke has huge potential and we could go close to seeing another Trac.( i said close,).
  7. Dogs with their full compliment are still a threat. Its hard to quantify what effect their finals travelling had upon them. ..but we should be able to get the job done again.
  8. Still strange to see that number on a small player but I feel Spargo is yet to show us his best despite having such a good year.
  9. This guy does have some skills but has not really had many opportunities. Heard him interviewed a few times and he has a great attitude.
  10. I have to stick up for Dermie. Regardless of his personality he probably has the best footy knowledge out of most of them.
  11. Thanks Loges but in full disclosure, It doesnt include the thirty times I watched the last ten minutes of the third.
  12. Was in striking distance of Coleman . What a player...what a year. Unlikely build for a high scoring fwd but it works. Probably hard to find a defender for. Takes some high grabs for his height and uses every pound he has to push off opponents. Uncanny goal sense and the best hairdo in the comp. Thanks Fritta.
  13. He's entertaining at least. I wonder if the other commentators laugh at him.
  14. Yea, I think your right about our forwards. Even if he were to really step up, he's probably going to have a hard time dislodging that talent. But Im glad we kept him. He does have the talent snd its up to the coaches to help see that shine.
  15. Watched the replay of that recently. Aside from the 24 to 11 frees in dogs favor we were not that bad. But boy did the umps give footscray an easy run. I think dogs actually train for high tackle frees and they certainly dont get pinged enough for throwing the ball. Maybe it lulled the doggies into a false sense of security. The dogs probably were the 2nd best team this year and they lost a few key players with injuries. But they also got a good ride in the lions final and were very lucky to just win that one. I'm so glad the umpires didnt spoil the granny for us. So looking forward to playing them again as well as Geelong. It was strange that the dogs were heralded as having the best midfield about because ours smashed them. Same with the touted cats forward line. I hope the free differential next year is much more even as I think it really carried the dogs a long way. Same with cats home adavantage which is why they are exposed come finals. Anyway, ive had my rant. Cheers.
  16. I was going to say one of our most improved players but so many really did step up this year. I always thought this guy was a tad fumbly but he has really become quite smooth. Certainly fixed his goal kicking issues to the point where he has kicked some very special goals. Runs all day. Hard as nails. A tackling machine and choc full of passion. Great year from him. Loves his team mates and revs everyone up. Still loving his tigers goal from the boundary line with a wet ball and the following against giants
  17. Gee Demonland has been very polite and civilised since the flag😀
  18. I love Bts form where he leaves comments half finished....."and the Melbourne fans are going absolutely". Didn't mind the bang bang but only because I was so caught up in the emotion. Wasn't there one bang to many or was the fourth a metaphor for the flag? Probably not.
  19. Didnt see this thread coming but Id give him ten more years.
  20. As for me Petty might not be better. But given his talent he might be good there. I just think its great to have options and explore ideas. Remember the injuries we had in 2019? Petty may well be a better defender and if it aint broke........but Tmac has shown some history of changing form and Weid is not a proven forward. Even if hes only needed as a stop gap its worth knowing he could do it. But yea as it stands I would prefer Petty down back over Tomlinson. Footy is a harsh mistress.
  21. it probably comes from wanting to utilise the talents of both of them. Never hurts to have options and its important to explore them like moving Tmac up forward.
