  1. Not to take anything away from our lads but I think flying to Brisbane....then Adelaide and then Perth must have had some impact upon them. As much as we lifted they looked cooked in the 40 mins. Yes a tall defender is probably a good idea as Adam t isnt that young either.
  2. And there was Kozzie being tackled high about 20 m from goal and a few uncalled throws. But I will say the unlike last time we met or worse the lions / dogs final or even worse when the dogs played swans in the granny.....the umps imho didnt really impact the game at all. As it should be.
  3. In hindsight, Im not sure I could have handled a game that went to the wire. Its strange that if someone told me that Tmac, Max , Jackson and Kozzie hadnt goaled by three qrt time, I would have assumed a big loss. Gee Fritta must have been close to the medal. Almost bagged six. Still love his fourth goal for skill and momentum. Watching the replay, the 19 point deficit wasnt really an accurate depiction of our efforts. So many points just missed from set shots whereas dogs quick snaps went straight through the middle. Is it just me or did the dogs seem very flat coming out in the last. Its like they had already surrendered. Could that last minute of the third have taken away their hope? I know we were playing some inspired footy but it did seem they had dropped as well.
  4. Some talent there. I really hope he plays his whole career with us. (As well as your mate)
  5. Just what we have been missing from our attack and them some. Not only an excellent goal sneak but he brings the pressure up fwd as well.
  6. I refrained from the site but started sulking at the 19 point margin and was genuinely afraid. If i had come here Im sure I wouldn't have said things Id regret. Nothing new. After Gus goaled I was feeling ok. Despite our history and it being only 4 goals I was dancing everywhere at 3/4 time knowing it was ours. There was just some magic about in that 60 seconds...... a sign if you like.
  7. As sad as it was not being at the G...Im glad we didn't have to battle for the flag last year. Sure it was weird seeing a granny in Perth but truth be told it was better than last years one in Brisbane. it was sold out and certainly had a great atmosphere. Also I dont feel anyone can take anything away from us with covid. There were no shortened quarters. No stop start. No 30 games in 30 days,. Other than a few crowds missing and change of venues it was business a usual. Credit to the Afl for all their work. And a credit to all the western fans and those who travelled.
  8. Not saying theres no room for improvement but I think its worth considering our style of play. As a team that seems to have an ethos of moving the ball forward quickly and consistantly ie more attacking than most I think a natural side effect is to have a higher point tally than others.
  9. Well having said this he deserves some return serve. Always thought he never offered enough. He was an absolute gem at taking speccies and will always be a part of high flying highlight reels more than once. But he was neither a gun fwd or defender and I think in all honesty would have struggled to break into our current team and the pies are a club befitting of his level of skill.
  10. If its not too much bother, could you please do a kerbside visit to my place in Northern Wollongong? Much appreciated.
  11. Its great reading the first couple of pages of this thread.
  12. Over ten metres id wager trac was quick. I loved his explosive bursts out of the middle in the granny. But when Hunt puts on the after burners its fun to watch players try and catch him.
  13. Poor bloke. Seemed to be having his best season yet. Hoping he comes back next year faster and fitter than ever. Exciting to see dashing down the ground.
  14. He seems to have superceded tmacs role of coming down the ground and presenting. I didnt understand why he was dropped after his three games but i guess the club felt bound to give Sam a run. But Im glad they put him back not long after. It took a few weeks for things to gel but he became better and more confident each week and was good in our finals. He was certainly no slouch and even if he didnt play like his 2019/18/17 self, I reckon coaches and players were always mindful of the damage he could do. Cant wait to see him get back to those glory days. Tx Norf.
  15. I dont think we have seen BBB near his best yet, BBB with a great pre season will see our forward line (more) awesome. Fritta is going from strength to strength as is Jackson. Kozzie is on the rise. If Tmac can play like he did for the first half of the season again, I pity other backlines. I stil dont understand why he copped so much flak. He had one bad year before having three incredible ones prior to landing at the MFC. Thanks Norf.
  16. I was confused why he got the nod over Jordan but now get it. Not to take anything away from James but Tom is the better at this stage. Hopefully a champion in the making here.
  17. Spot on. I was so excited when the club signed him and lost that norf didnt fight to keep him. He copped some slack here but proved his worth and then some.
  18. I guess most of us were flag virgins not that long ago. Our elation is no doubt much higher than say a eagles fan who would have experienced "multiple highs" from their success but we still get what many other fans have been getting on a more consistent basis. A PREMIERSHIP IS JUST BLOODY AWESOME. There is an old quote that ... virginity is a recurring condition. I hope we win a flag again ASAP. I hope we win so many that we become hunted and despised.
  19. For sure. Great post doc. He has absolutely done the club and R.d.b very proud. What a stellar year. He's certainly not the atypical full forward with his slight frame and not towering over everyone. But his timing, leap, acceleration and goal sense is incredible. When he is on and its been many a time this season, he is an excitement machine.I think his size and attributes leave sides uncertain who to play on him. I was thrilled with the addition of Bbb this year and thought that he and Weid would tear it up. Don't get me wrong as I think Bbb did a great job but the big surprise was Fritta. Its no understatement to admit that he has been a huge component of winning games this season and he stepped up in the granny both in his bag of goals but how and when he scored them. That leap and recovery goal seemed the catalyst of it all ( no offence Trac). He deserves credit for increasing his tackling and especially his accuracy. Thank you Fritta.
