  1. Our first pick this year, our first pick from last year and our second round pick... I think that's very fair.... if that's the deal I'm stoked. I reckon there'll still be a number of players that will be traded to get us back into the draft and or for some up and coming players. I reckon Frawley will be a very good player... but if we can pick up a Rance/Collier/Henderson/McEvoy by getting back into the first round... all we've really done is miss out on 12 months development... and we've got Judd.... OH HAPPY DAYS.
  2. Ok so this part would seem to be at odds with what the Eagles have already stated they require - an early draft pick... and it then goes on to say that they are going to share recruiting information...yep poor old destitute West Coast have no confidence left in their own recruiting staff.... I think this pure fantasy and we are no clearer to understanding which club Judd may prefer than this time last week.
  3. You have to remember that journalists bring their own unique preconceptions and bias to the table when they express their opinions - just like supporters. It'd be easier for a Jim Wilson (Carlton) to accept that Judd would want to go to Collingwood rather than Melbourne, or for Caro (Richmond) the same... it'd simply be inconceivable for someone like Grybas (Collingwood) to believe anything else. If Judd chooses Melbourne... it means they all have to go away and not only have to try and rationalise it (gee there won't be a story that doesn't mention he barracked for us as a kid) and admit that maybe that their preconceptions may have been wrong.
  4. Judd will state a desire to play for a club.... I think he will probably talk to the Eagles first about whether there is any likelihood that club can satisfy the Eagles demands before any public announcement is made. You can be damn sure that one of them will be able to. No club that is listed as Judd's prefered option wants to be known as the club that let him get away... with maybe the exception of Collingwood. lol.
  5. I don't think it's anything more than educated guess work at the moment. If Melbourne is one of the two favoured clubs then that's a massive coup. If we are his preferred destination then it will be a feel good football story all round. If he wants to go to the Pies I'd expect that West Coast would make them pay dearly...
  6. It goes back to them refusing to offer anything substantial for Gehrig... it stalled trade negotiations across the board, in the end Fraser was forced to go to the Saints. Magpies also wanted Chad Morison. Rather than try to do a proper trade with the Eagles, they tried to get him to walk and go into the PSD. There are others, but can't think of them right now.
  7. Robbo & Miller or Robbo & PJ?
  8. I don't want to get my hopes up... Judd in the red and blue and Collingwood fans whining.... please, please, please. Over on BF or the sewrage pond as it would be better described the ferals are already talking about circumventing any process by getting Ed to use in omnipetence to declare free agency. God I hope Juddy comes to us!
  9. They also still have Buckley (hard to see him playing more than a handful of games in 08), Burns and a very slow O'Bree. I think Rocca, Wakelin and Presti are just about done as well. They have a lot of exciting youngsters coming up - personally I think it will be the same old same old with Collingwood... they won't get the deal done because all they'll offer is Didak and their first pick. They had a meeting with the footy department to discuss it, but the outcome is not known, Ratten has also said he won't trade Fevola. How negotiable the Blues are is anyone's guess. Footy departments aside, I'm staggered at the supporters of other clubs refusal to trade their first pick and player X for Chris Judd -especially if the medical prognosis is to be believed. None of the four clubs has a player that could hold a candle to Judd in terms of ability, but listen to fans of the other three and half their bloody list is untouchable - for the best player in the league who is only 24.
  10. If the Collingwood fans on BF are any indication of their Footy Departments... there's not a snowballs chance in hell of him being a magpie. I have no idea of who he will nominate... but if it's Collingwood it's going to cost them dearly to get the deal over the line. The bad blood runs deep and the Eagles would rather see him go to anyone of the other three clubs IMO.
  11. I don't mind listening to Parko talk about footy... but i'd have to say increasingly he seems to know less and less. I don't think he's got any idea, not least because he probably hasn't even spoken to Chris Judd to know what he's thinking.
  12. Ok, this has got nothing to do with Judd, but I figured no one would read it otherwise. I heard this on the radiogram the other day and tracked down an article... certainly novel... and whilst quite funny - the club stands to make a lot of money from it... weird Soccer cemetery to cater for die-hard fans A German soccer club plans to open a cemetery next to its stadium so that die-hard fans can rest in peace alongside their favourite team. Hamburg SV, a Bundesliga side from the northern port city, aims to open the graveyard some 50 feet from the stadium's main entrance, said deputy chairman Christian Reichert. "For a large number of people, it's important to be close to the club after their lives are over," he said. "The cemetery will have the look of a small, open stadium." With 42,000 registered supporters at the club and just 500 graves up for grabs, competition for places promises to be fierce. Officials have already begun taking reservations. "I don't know of any other place in Germany where this is done, so it's a unique opportunity for our fans," Mr Reichert said, adding that teams like England's Everton FC have been known to inter fans' ashes around playing fields. - Reuters
  13. Negative it was David and Donald CC.
  14. Absolutely... It's a rarity to say about a Collingwood player, not only was he great player, but a truly humble and sincere gentleman. Vale Len.
  15. I wouldn't want to be the player at the club that refused to be traded, thereby killing off the chance of getting Chris Judd. Jones can't be traded, but Davey and McLean can be.
  16. Once upon a time a game was played at the G in rd 22. Both teams had nothing to play for and everything to gain by losing. One team did what it had done for half a season and tanked it's arse off and gained the first pick in the draft. The other team did what football teams have been doing thoughout history - it played to win costing itself draft picks. One day a brave Knight emerged. Telstra Dome or the G. Courage and Honour or the Dunghill Blues. C'mon Juddy you know where your destiny lies.
  17. If I was the Bulldogs I wouldn't trade pick five for a 29 year old with dodgy knees and a third round pick - in fact I'd say you were trying to play me for a sucker. It's hard to see West Coast dealing with Essendon (no coach and historically they're [censored] at the trade table) and Collingwood where there's still a bit of bad blood from Fraser Gehrig (and they don't have the required early draft pick and it's unlikely any other Victorian club will give it to them). Richmond will just be praying he goes to the PSD. (aint gonna happen)
  18. Speculation... like they were claiming they knew who the shortlist for the Melbourne coaching positions were... It's amusing that these guys have both radio and newspaper gigs... so they can be wrong twice as often.
  19. The Eagles don't like Collingwood from a long way back....(think Fraser Gehrig) They have a terrible reputation re trades. If they could deal with anyone else they would... I think Judd will nominate one club to go to. I think that the talk of Collingwood and Carlton are simply media speculation and wishful thinking on the part of board members. In all likely hood he will meet with the Dees and we'll be able to put a pitch to him.
  20. Kangaroos along with the Bulldogs and Geelong have ruled themselves out. Saint Kilda would have trouble fitting him in their cap and Richmond by their own coaches admission won't be competitive until 2010. IMO that leaves five realistic destinations. Us, Hawthorn, Essendon, Carlton and the Pies.
  21. Ahh love, that takes me back....
  22. He also gave back a large chunk of the money we paid to him. I rate Templeton far more than I did Peter Moore. I was at the Junction oval when he tried to smash Brad Gotch through the advertising hording with a hip and shoulder.
  23. Is this media talk, because they don't know squat... is it supporter talk, because they know less. Judd hasn't indicated where he's going. The deal isn't done he's weighing up the options.
  24. It won't come down to an auction between clubs. Judd will chose the club he wants to go to and that club will then have to work with the Eagles to secure the trade. It won't matter what Carlton can offer if Judd doesn't want to play there. I think the chance to slip straight into the Dees as maybe co-captain with Neita, wearing No 3 and with a new coach playing on the MCG would be very attractive to Judd, particularly if we could satisfy his monetary arrangements. Some may see this as sentimentality - but no other player in recent memory has attracted as much attention about his past allegiances as Judd. He's discussed captaining the Dees, he's attended training... the man still burns a candle.. let's get him.
