As great as Nibbler was tonight., and I'm not a fan of him but am of his he work rate, his decision making worries me. Regardless, kudos to him. Well done nibbler.

His decision making has been very good this season, 27 touch's, only 1 turn over, that's a excellent fantastic amazing game.

The man is delusional. Again said they dominated against Melbourne but fell away late.

he can say that, but he just got busted by flat track bullies, and what has that got to do with how old and slow they are, and why bring it up? it's like when Selwood said Geelong are the most healthiest  they have ever been going into finals, just smoke n mirrors mind games, it might work in H&W but not in finals.

The other '[censored]' thing to bear in mind is if Port Adelaide make the Grand Final in Perth (and say play us), all of their supporters will be able to fly over to Perth and watch the game, so it'll turn into a partial home crowd for them. This is because there are no restrictions on entering WA from SA. We would have to rely on all of the lovely 'impartial' Western Australians to barrack for us to even it out - can't see everyone doing that, so Port will have the weight of the crowd. We are used to 'booooooo' in Perth I guess!

Do you know how expensive flights to Perth are, port are the busted [censored] poor

Not to forget that both top 4 teams who lost their QFs last year made the GF.

Not the way Geelong are playing they have hit the wall, it happened at 3 QTR time last week, can't go in with the oldest side in history and think you're going to win premierships, there's a reason why old teams like Geelong have never won a premiership.

I’ve said all season Geelong play horrible football. Solid defensively, but with the ball it’s a pale and boring imitation of prime Hawks. Baffles me how they almost finished top. The last 3 weeks they’ve come up against good teams that wouldn’t accept that boring chippy [censored] and it’s shown them up beautifully.

Geelong cheat to make  top 4 every year, there game plan is good in home and away,, but more often then not it does not stand up in finals, imagine they are going into next year with most of their veteran signed up, dangerous and Selwood are cooked, are only good for cameos.

  6. Geelong are cooked cooked cooked, imagine have grandpa's like Isaac Smith and Shaun Higgins for another 2 years, Geelong are going into next year with a even older side, dangerous is cooked, Hawkins is cooked, Mitch Duncan get heaps of the ball but does not hurt, the most overrated player.

Sad day for Carlton they turned the Sacking into a sad Circus and dragged out to it’s excruciating painful end.😪😪

Don't shed a tear for them, they should Have been investigated for tanking, after a player and former assistant said they tanked.

I don’t think playing at the top level is necessarily essential. There are other examples of coaches who didn’t but went alright - Neil Craig and Chris Fagan spring to mind.

Neil Craig played over 300 game in the SANFL, and that was before the crows come in the AFL, it was a very high standard.

. There's a sense of entitlement and almost ownership wherein these so called 'Captains of Industry' become all knowing across areas where they are clearly not. Whilst a different scenario, I reckon you could draw parallels with Jeff Kennett in terms of that desperate need to be seen as the main man. Most at Hawthorn will tell you that he success at Hawthorn was set up prior to Kennett and certainly in spite of him and not because of him.

What Kennet did do he brought in a sht load of money, before the Hawks went to Tassie ST. Kilda WAS THERE, they pulled out sightings not makeing enough money, then the Hawks went there on a better deal with [censored] loads MORE money, this only happens because politicians are all corrupt, and they look after each other.

i have a horrible feeling this thread is going to coax Dr D out of the woodwork to produce yet another factual prediction of doom and gloom. I believe his last one, based on his ability to know more about football than any other numbskull on demonland, had us dropping from 1st to finish 5th and feeling grateful to be in the 8 at all. My skills as a budding Nostrodamus have Dr D predicting we exit the finals in straight sets 😜

Where has DR d gone, he did  boasted so much, was so sure of himself, we won't see him again, not a Melbourne supporter

After 6 years and 27 pages, perhaps it's time to summarise where we're at in this thread. We've knocked off a lot of embarrassing records in the last little while, including as recently as last night by being Minor Premiers for the first time since 1964. So what's left? Here's a few, starting with the obvious and with two that are not within our control:

    • 57 years since a Premiership
    • never had a 100 year goal kicker
    • holder of the margin for the largest losing margin (I think)
    • largest score kicked against (I think)

    What else?

With the  way the game is played only 1 of those records has a chance to be broken

    Gawn - deserved the honour

    Oliver - sealed the Brownlow

    Salem - was surprisingly fumbly

    Viney - tried but lacking

    Petracca - not as dominant

    May - met his match

    Harmes - prolific and aggressive

    Brayshaw - important last quarter

    Pickett - had mercurial moments

    Lever - outstanding last quarter

    Sparrow - some important touches

    Langdon - impressive first half

    Neal-Bullen - couldn’t get involved

    Spargo - played his part

    Brown - always provided target

    Fritsch - noticed by absence

    Rivers - was rarely sighted

    Bowey - performance defied inexperience

    Smith - hard to define

    Petty - was rarely sighted

    Jackson - season worst performance

    McDonald - was embarrassingly ineffective

Viney will  and grunt in the last won the game, bias too much

  14. Imagine having ancient players,  like Higgins and Isaac Smith for the next two 3 years the two guys are cooked, not playing Jordon Clark and Quinton narkle are huge mistake, hope both seek trades at year's end, leave Geelong with no star under the age of 25.

I actually think Chris Scott is a great coach, and it would be brilliant to play under him. He goes into bat for his players, tries to find ways to speak positively in press conferences, and actually answers questions with an answer related to the question. He is a bit odd, but you have to be a bit mental to be an AFL coach.

And I am a bit surprised to see those responses from Cat supporters - they seem to genuinely rate our players.

The 2 main things coming from Moorabool St are spot on

    • 1) Their ruck set up is a mess considering how well they are placed in the top 4 for the finals
    • 2) ageing list.

This is a joke, the man is always complaining about umpiring, how many times does he throw is  arms in the air in the coaches box when frees goes against Geelong, they have multiple 32/33 34 year old players I'm still on multi-year deals the cliff is coming huge, their ground is the biggest home game advantage in the AFL, he will be cursed for many years to come,  as  they spend the next 10 years on the bottom of the ladder

Actually pretty funny. one of my adelaide mates said they are a chance because "we are due for a loss" and "the crowd really gets behind the crows at home games" I think he's got to come up with better reasons than that.

Why a few in demonland say the same thing, some say it's a danger game, and give as  much reason why.

  17. The kid can't get a run, because the cats have a  play granddad's in front of kids, I hope he leaves, which will be good because the cats will only have 33 year Olds on their list, watch the crash the cats will have because all the Young players leave, Scott is going tO leave 1 big mess at cat land, just think the Hawks big fall, or north Melbourne fall who had the same list strategy as Geelong has now.
